You can add Nuyoricans and Crossfit chicks to that list too.

I speak Spanish too so I'll definitely go for the Nuyoricans/hispanics.

Make sure you read Bringing Out the Dead and watch the movie. About FDNY EMTs.

The movie was directed by Scorcese.

I've decided to put my app in and go for it, but I have one more question for the NYC guys: I'm only 5'8, and normally this isn't a big deal but I've read that in NYC a lot of women won't even look at guys under 5'10. I've also read on here that in NYC logistics is everything, and obviously on my salary I wouldn't be able to afford an apartment with good logistics. On the other hand I know FDNY guys have a certain status in the city. Will my lack of height and moderate income set me up for failure with girls in NYC? Or will the "status" I would have working for FDNY combined with being in good shape and having decent game help make up for it?

Leroy, for every firefighter who gets laid "because he's a firefighter" there are plenty of firefighters with limited game who don't get laid at all.

Having a certain "status" just gets your foot in the door.

Basically, if you aren't getting laid regularly now, becoming a firefighter is just going to turn you into a bitter incel.
Not exactly true. My lays improved minute I became a cop. Somethings to consider:
1. These occupations have groupies. City liberal type girls might not..but the suburban republican type chicks are often groupies. More important the girls are young. Many 45 yr old firemen having 22 yr old gfs, married guys also.
There are bars/clubs that cater to these professions and the girls come to meet them. For example in long Island there was a club called Mc Kayies that had a cop/fireman night and it was packed.

2. Girls sometimes will approach you if in uniform. They can make up some innocent reason but they are interested. I once had a girl report she lost something just to talk to me.

3. Reverse of the above. You can approach girls and many will be receptive. They drop the bitch shield since they think you are safe. After all they see your name tag, uniform, etc. When a cop calls a walking girl over, it isn't like they will say NO lol.

4. Paid TO DAYGAME. You never notice that pack of firemen going to the supermarket? Ideally they have probies to send to do errands but they look at it as an opportunity to get out and chat up chicks.

So NO Fireman don't need game to pickup at all and have an opportunity that even gamers don't have..to get much younger due to groupies even in the USA.

DISADVANTAGES:
a.hitting on the wrong girl can land them in deep shit with their job, even land them in the media.
b.low class ghetto girls DESPISE you.
c. High class educated liberals will avoid you. High class tends to avoid anyone who isn't in their class publicly..but they often have that Fireman/caveman fantasy.

But don't become this guy here. I worked with him before he transferred to Suffolk. He wasted a 150k do nothing job over pussy.

Another thing to consider if you are into traveling. FDNY/NYPD is like a big international franchise. Kind of like the Yankees.

I remember some girls in France were wearing NYPD caps and I saw a few girls in Ukraine with NYPD shirts. I t works great to come up to them and show them your id and start chatting.

Same thing in Times Square area. If you look into the tourist gift shops that are on any corner you will see items with the logo's being bought by tourists. Sept 11 amplified it.

If you get stationed in Manhattan you will bank. I don't know about firemen but I assume so. You have to remember that most clubs will let you in without waiting on line and even free. Last thing they want is to not take care of the local firemen who will come to their rescue.

Often when I was stuck on a street corner near some happening lounge..the bouncer/owner would welcome me to come by on my day off free of cover and a drink or 2.

I even had a hot female bartenders of some trendy places tell me to stop in and she would take care of me simply because I waited with her at 4 am when she was waiting for cab/bus/train etc.

Another thing that helped was Crashing parties. I was able to get to the front of line and get in free to vip events, underdressed even at places like the China club simply because the head of security sometimes is a retired cop. Firemen have similar connections.

And my favorite(although looking back it was wrong) was getting into private NYU parties. If we were hanging in the area and saw some private group party all we had to do is go to the man at the door and flash. It isn't like they are going to say no. Once even heard to host complaining to one of his club members and the guy said.. "I can't say no,they are cops" lol. It was wrong though and part of their compliance no doubt was the pot and drugs they had on premises.

Firemen have the added advantage that some local hotspot spots bars are actually owned by active firemen(some have themes no doubt).

That being said..EMT FDNY doesn't get much respect. Kind of like the NYPD traffic agents and school security (former hated brownies).

Ironically, Cops get along better with EMT than Firefighters simply do to the fact we actually spend more time working together. At 5 am in the ghetto..both of us are the only ones on the street. Firefighters are asleep lol.

Yeah we definitely don't have that celebrity status out in the sticks haha. With liberals/ghetto chicks despising you, would you say that's more of a cop thing? Not that I'm particularly interested in either of those demographics but I feel like firefighters are generally less controversial than cops. Also, as far as FDNY EMS not getting any respect, I know thats the case within the department but does that extend to girls too? I figured that some broad isn't really gonna know the difference between a fireman and an EMT. Would I be setting myself up for failure with the low pay combined with working as an EMT? I thought that even as an EMT the FDNY status would mean something.

Answers to above questions:

Yes , certainly that applies to cops more than firemen but in the end they give headaches for city workers. EMS has been shot at before in the ghetto. Liberals tend to hate anyone from a sexist pig macho Alpha culture so it is irrelevant. But you get those fulfilling fantasies to balance it out.

Well if you are an EMT, your status is that of an EMT. Nothing more. Remember NYC has dozens of private ambulance companies that do the same thing full of EMT'S and Paramedics. Saying your an EMT with the FDNY probably wins points but in the end you are not a well paid, caveman fireman. In fact I think the EMT'S that work in the Jewish community ambulance services at least can get their jew girls!

Of course nothing stopping you from saying your a fireman and showing some evidence when asked. People can lie. You can say your a movie producer or banker also. Those who lie tend to win if they are consistent. Many city workers lie so not to have a girl who can get them in trouble and accuse them of some foul shit.

True, but it is rare the job with a starting salary that is much more than half of that, even in NYC. We all start someplace.

After 5 years as a FF, he will make with OT over 100k and have free dental, med, pension and 5 weeks vacation, plus other benefits making his package worth about 200k. I don't know his age but the normal 21 year old who gets hired is making a good salary at age of 26..certainly more than most of his friends and neighbors who don't have med or law degrees.

NYC is a city of illusion. Most people live on very low income. Those with high income live in suburbs. Just look at per capita and you will see this.

30k/year is not doable if you live in Manhattan. Maybe try queens or deep into brooklyn.

Eh I feel like people who would lie about being a firefighter are on the same level as people who lie about military service. I plan to volunteer until I got on fire though, so I wouldn't even have to lie. Plus I'm an army medic in the reserves so I could always play that card ie "I'm a medic in the Army and FDNY". Btw I'm 20, so I'll probably get on EMS in 1 to 2 years and fire 2+ years after that so I'll probably have 5 years on in my late twenties/early thirties. Still pretty good though.

Yea, I don't really know any Nuyoricans who speak Spanish. That's sort of a "thing" in New York, other Latinos are all blown away at Puerto Ricans having no idea how to speak Spanish.

And even most Latinos here who are young basically take it as a sign of disrespect if you speak to them in Spanish, like "What, you think I'm some idiot who can't even speak English? You think I just got here off the boat? Fuck you!"

This is my experience as a white guy who has lived abroad and learned fluent Spanish.

100% co-signed. As a white guy who speaks very fluent Spanish, it's surprisingly useless in NYC. Even the Mexicans at my corner deli who speak broken English get annoyed if I speak to them in Spanish.

That said, I haven't spent much time up in the Heights, so maybe it's different there.

In the Heights my experience is that people seem happy to speak in Spanish.
