I'm in the process of starting another blog. Some of you might remember I had one back in 2010-2012. Back then I just started writing my thoughts and feared being outed. Now I have a more clear direction of where I'm going with it and no longer care, although the focus isn't game.

Anyway I'd like to have a header/banner designed for the site to display on the top of the page.

I can hire someone from a freelancing site, but I would rather hire an established member or get a referral from one of you guys for a graphic artist.

One suggestion:

Hire 5 or 6 different people to do it on Fiverr.com, and you'll get a bunch of different options. Then pick the one you like best.

I agree with quintus, go to fiverr have a bunch made and pic the best, if you have a few good ones you can always rotate them and see if one works better or looks more professional. I definately like the idea of reaching out to members for support or spending money with each other as opposed to some stranger, however on a small project like this I'd go fiverr. If your looking for content writers or something maybe come back here looking.

As for banners, I've found if I put a post up on cl, I'll get people wanting $50 to $150 for a banner, logo design, etc. On fiverr yeah ther's some crappy people but if you stick to well rated sellers you get some pretty amazing work done for $5. The other thing I like about fiver is it's not all about who's got the best graphic design skills but someone may have a better vision for what your looking for or someones natural style may fit your site better so by going with a few diff people you get a few different looks and feels for like $25 or $30 bucks only.

As for being outed, I think we all have that concern but honestly, and no offense, but someone like roosh if he werne't already known could be outed. If your just putting up a blog you have to develope a following and have some influence for someone to even give a shit enough to out you. I woulnd't be too concerned about that unless your writing some really controversial stuff like we should legalize rape or osmething. I would say buy privacy for your domain, if yourreally paranoid about this use proxies for everything especially corresponding via email with readers and stuff and you really don't have anything to worry about.

Just curious I know this wasn't the aim of your thread but curious what your blog is going to be about? Are you doing to use wordpress? Are you going to monetize? Is it gonna be like a lifestyle type deal or business or game or?

Jamaica, I agree. Chances are unless the site gets a lot of traffic I have no reason to worry. I blogged a few years back for more than a year. I eventually ran out of gas. Blogging was extremely time consuming and since I wasn't making any money I just laid the blog to rest. Honestly, that's a fear of mine again, but I need to make it through the difficult stages.

I will definitely use wordpress and plan to monetize eventually. It will be a male lifestyle type thing, not really game related although I'll post about game every once in a while. I think I've developed some niche specialized knowledge in a few areas where I can sell some informational ebooks and specialized products once it gets off the ground. I'm talking a year or so from now. Once I get it going I'll put it in my sig.
