I spent one night in Jakarta, arriving late at night and heading to Bali the following afternoon. I was initially going to be a Panzie and stay near the airport but decided I may not come here again may as well search for a party.
I stayed at Bangka Bed & Breakfast in the KEMANG area. A house with 3 rooms that I had to myself owing to the other rooms being vacant. I would have recommended this spot until 5am when I learned there was a mosque closeby and woke up to the prayer call. I would still recommend the KEMANG area.
Night: I contacted someone on FB in the club biz who recommended SHY LOUNGE/ROOFTOP in the neighbourhood. When searching for the joint in a cab, it was clear the area I was staying was somewhat posh having buildings with incredible architecture. The building housing SHY was no different, some sort of design building with an entirely Glass facade. I took the elevator to the top floor and had to walk up another to the lounge on the top floor. I have to say this joint was one of the nicest Ive stepped to. You could transport it to Collins Ave, Vegas wherever. There was an inside room and a terrace surrounding it. I searched like an idiot for the bar before realizing there were only wait staff around the place. As the name of the club implies, the place had a small dance floor with 75% of the club filled with lounge chairs filled with mixed groups many with bottle service. This seemed to be the place to be seen. Keep in mind it was only a Tuesday
Not knowing much about Indonesian women....my initial impression was: DAMN !! Having been to most spots in Asia, the talent here was as good as I've seen on any given night. While Im good at recognizing a korean, jap, chinese, etc face a mile away, I think I would be at a loss for most of the women here were they in my city. Quite diverse looks in terms of complexion and how 'asian' they looked. The girls were well dressed, most with a drink and smoke in hand. You would need to be reminded it was an Islamic nation. The club was filled with 7-9s, with very few ugly girls. People seemed to know one another and I sort of felt like I was on the outside looking in. I'm not sure I saw a single crew of girls without guys. After a couple hours, I decided to call it after making 0 approaches.
Interestingly, I heard a ruckus while walking down to the elevator and some Indo guy was walking up with a gash on his eye (not sure why he was continuing to the club?). Bouncers were breaking 2 groups of guys in front of the elevator...they later continued out on the street without anyone doing much damage. Both myself and my cabbie got bored watching and I went home.
Following Day: I was heading to Bali but had a date through DIA (the only one on my trip). Somewhat pointless as I was leaving but I figured I may come back if she were hot or get her to meet me. Her pics looked good and head seemed to be screwed on straight from our txting. She asked me to meet her at the PAN PACIFIC MALL- I got there early and soon realized this might be the most luxurious mall I've been to. This would be a definite place for Day Game most of the shops had cute girls working and the place was DEAD.
My date was on her lunch break and she showed up in a tight business suit, was tall with a fit body. She would have been an easy 8...but...unfortunately had bad teeth which dropped her to a level below interest on my part. A real shame that was the case. Nonetheless smart and we had a good chat before I caught my flight.
Conclusion: There's definitely hot women in this city and a bumping nightlife. Much harder to navigate and likely fewer sights compared with say BKK which makes this city get few visitors. If you do visit, plan your arrival and depature time carefully...could be the difference between a 40 minute taxi vs 3 hours.
