Choice: Hongkong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur?

Hey guys,

I can choose between one of the 3 cities for a 3 month internship (paid accomodation).
Can you recommend one?

Definitely Hong Kong. It's a beautiful and exciting city which has always led to good experiences for me.

Singapore and Kuala Lumpur seem boring to me in comparison to Hong Kong. And Kuala Lumpur in particular isn't that expensive so it would seem a waste to use three months of free accommodation there.

I won't say one over another per se, but HK and Singapore make for a better Forward Operations Base than KL. HK is expensive as well as Singapore. If costs are not a concern, you can be a short flight or a train ride into other areas that have lots of talent that you can meet up with for dates.

I don't hear great things about Singapore women and HK women are so-so. KL has something for just about everyone. Clubbing is supposedly decent to good in Singapore and HK. Singapore women/people speak English more than the other 2 places.

What exactly goal wise are you trying to accomplish? Is night life a big deal or not? Is dating a bigger priority or just fun? 5-6's okay? Or are you hunting for rare 7-9s for LTRs or marriage?

What is your age range and what kind of money are you going to have for spending as well?

I would take Singapore, though I also like Hong Kong a lot. Kualu Lumpur should not be considered. Singapore has places like Clarke Quay with tons of bars perfect if you're a younger dude, in a more controlled environment than Hong Kong, which is a bit of a wild west place still in some ways. It also depends on your other preferences. Singapore has a perfect location for traveling South East Asia, 1.5 hour to Bangkok, maybe 2 hours to Bali, short trip to Jakarta. Hong Kong is close to China of course and Shenzhen.

As for quality of women, I haven't stayed long enough to notice a major difference. Neither place struck me as having a lot of attractive women. Both have expat girls, some of them models as well. In Singapore you also have other SEA women working there and in Hong Kong there's a bunch of chinese. Best would be if you could check both out first.

^^^^^^ In what ways do you mean that Hong Kong is wild west?

It's a more cut throat environment compared to Singapore, which is such an orderly place you can't even buy gum. I don't mean that Hong Kong is unsafe, just that the vibe in HK to me seems harder.

That's a very cool choice to make, I wish I had the same. The three cities are great.

I would go for Hong Kong, nightlife seems better than Singapore and KL so as women.

KL and Singapore beats HK for the food though but alcohol is cheaper in HK.

Transportation are better in Singapore and HK as all the infrastructure are in general.

There's one distinct advantage of KL over the two others, it's dirt cheap. That's pretty much it though.

Thanks for your answers everybody!
I'm 21 and just want to have some(well: a lot of) fun.
I think I''ll have about 1000 Euro per month plus
accomodation and other small benefits. In HK I'll have a quite central place, don't know about the other places though.

I have medium standards so if there are lots of easy, dtf girls between 4 and 6 I'm in.

There's a reason they call Singapore 'Disneyland with the death penalty'.

What I love about Hong Kong is just how raw and vibrant it is, unlike anywhere else I've ever been. If I could spend a few months of the year solely in Hong Kong I probably would.

You must have different standards to me then. I remember getting the tube and most times when I got on there would be considerably more attractive women on it than say the tube in London. I'm not that keen on Asian women either. English was pretty much mandatory in schools in HK until recently and thus most women speak relatively good English and like being flirted with. There are also a shitload of Australian, American, Chinese and European tourists in HK as well as the fact there are tons of expats working out there too.

You want a central location for sure in Hong Kong (I'd go for HK island and not Kowloon) but another great thing about Hong Kong is how diverse the place is. A cable car and a bus journey and you can find yourself on a beach like this.

For your own good, please don't go after 4's or even 5's. [Image: fatter.gif] Read up on the datasheets about Sundays in Hong Kong and if you like the urban environment in Monaco you will like how Hong Kong is built.

Hong Kong's skyline is pretty impressive.

Singapore women are ugly, HK women are pretty decent overall and unlike in Singapore you have a lot of young exchange students from other countries as well.

Outside of pickup the answer is HK no doubt. It's a beautiful city with lots of nature, random islands to explore, cool little corners to spend an evening. Singapore will bore you after a week.

KL doesn't really compare and the party scene is pretty shit.

1000 EUR with accommodation paid is plenty in HK but it has been getting more expensive for sure. Expect 20-30 EUR entry fees for clubs on weekends.

All these cities are only a couple of hours from Jakarta and Manila (~$100 return ticket). I'd choose what is better for my career and would go clubbing to Manila / Jakarta / Bali on weekends.

Philippine airlines also fly that route even if they are a little more expensive (and better?).

You could also try a scanner for airfares to get the best rate. Both cebu pacific and philippine airlines seem to show up on them.

Note that if you book directly on cebu pacific's homepage a lot of extras could be added up. Go through a few steps to get the real price.
