Im always sleepy

I get 7-8 hours of sleep every day, including a half hour nap even when Im at the office. But no matter what Im always sleepy, and can fall asleep literally any time of the day. It has been happening for over two years but now I think I need to deal with it. Once I slept for 28 hours during college winter break, only waking up tp eat.

For the record, I go out dancing 15h/week and train martial arts another 12-15h/week, and I eat well. Im not sitting on my ass lacking in testoterone. But this sleepiness just kills my energy and makes it harder and harder to focus. Night game is almost impossible for me bc of this

Anyone got any tip for me except going to health pro who will suck my $ dry while saying stupid stuff like going to bed early, dont drink coffee or eat late etc. which I have been doing all the time?

Are you spending 4 hours every day on dancing and training martial arts?
Please break down what else you are doing..

It's mostly likely your diet and activities that are killing your energy.

Go back to square one.

Drink a ton of water.
Cut out all processed foods.
Make every meal from scratch. (As much as your cooking skill allows)
Cut out the dancing. (probably the main culprit)
Add in lifting weights 3x a week.
Don't fap. Fapping kills your energy and motivation.
I might even suggest cutting out girls for 2 weeks. (no fucking or going out to meet girls.)
All these little activities slowly take away your energy reserves over the week so you feel more tired than you actually are.

How is your digestion? Any problems in stomach, bowels??

Also I don't want to hijack your thread, but I have a sort of similar problem. I love sports and I will never pass on an opportunity to play football or go boxing or anything, however I find that my recuperation is really bad. It might be the same problem you are having since you dance/fight alot, your body needs a lot of time to recover from the physical activities. For me personally during the sports, my energy is super high, I dont lack stamina. However as soon as I stop I will become deadtired and musclesourness can last for days, I will sleep a lot more, etc. while guys I worked out with who are on the same level are fine the next day.

So anyone knows exactly what muscles and your body in general need to recover? Which organs are mostly involved? Can it be hormonal?
For the OP, how is your musclesourness?

And in my case; I drink water, no processed foods, cook myself, hardly ever fap, ... , the only thing which fucks me a bit is drinking alcohol in the weekend. I also use protein shakes, recovery shakes, creatine, citrulline, BCAA's.

I'm thinking something in the line of a digestion problem (since I do have problems on that end) which makes that not all nutritients needed for recovery are absorbed in the stomach. Sort of like 'leaky gut syndrome' for those familiar with the term. Or could it just be genetical that some people need a lot of sleep to recover?

During school year I actually do dancing and martial for 3-4 hours a day yes. I literally only come home to eat and sleep (around 10pm) and get up at 8am. I fall asleep very very quickly. 1-3 hours in class. 2 hours of eating all meal combined. Commuting is about 3h/day.

Now that Im working corporate for the summer the dancing and martial is roughly 1.5h/week but sitting in an office kills my energy all the same.

I cook three times per week, each time enough to last me at least two days. I have neither money nor time to eat out. I make mostly meat dishes with plenty of tomato and potatos, and I juice celery and carrot as supplements.

Fapping might be the problem. I fap maybe once a day, but if I dont do it I feel really stressful. These days when Im not fucking I see my girlfriend and we usually have sex twice per day. Not sure if good or bad thing, but its a great release.

I find cutting back on either dancing or martial art a bit difficult. Its my passion as well as my social life. There was a time when I had exams and I didnt do any for a week. I felt like a wreck. I ll start by reducing them by one hour per week.

Question is, what do I do when not doing activities? Play computer games and read books? Might as well turn into a beta. Starting September Ill have a gym membership so I might use that to fill the gap.

Every now and then I have stomach spasm, but nothing serious. I take a dump every morning, almost a health ritual. Overall digestion is good and I rarely ever fall sick.

I think my problem with digestion might be eating too quickly, but would that have anything to do with sleeping?

Not to take away from the diet, activity, digestion posts, but...

Just a thought...do you enjoy life right now? People who are interested in what they're doing tend to be more awake, ie people who enjoy life (job, friends, lovas, hobbies) are much more awake for more of the day.

I had major ADD (not adhd) and didn't know it and was simply not enjoying life. It was like I was constantly sleepy, not fully awake and attentive. I started taking meds and it opened a whole new world. I'm planning on going off the meds when I land a new job (working on a computer is terribly boring to me).

I'm not suggesting you have ADD or need meds, or even that you aren't enjoying life, I'm simply using my example as it relates to you.

I had a similar problem about a year ago. It could be a "clogged" liver; seemed to be the problem for me anyhow. I started taking liver detox pills, specifically NOW Foods Liver Detoxifier and Regenerator, and it has worked wonders.

Please listen to me. Check your t3 levels. This is not the right forum. Google "stop the thyroid madness" . I'm on t3 supplementation and am neither inappropriately cold, nor tired, nor sleepy anymore. Took heed after good looking loser wrote about it.

Caffeine actually fucks me up. The more I have it seems to make me fall asleep within 2 hours. Five hour energy my ass...

I still have no good ways to cure my sleepiness either.

That's how caffeine works. For you, if you have just average random sleepiness and not chronic tiredness, may I recommend modafinil

Consult a doc about whether you have narcolepsy. A buddy of mine had similar symptoms to yours and he turned out to be narcoleptic, so a doc prescribed him modafinil. It has helped him quite a bit with his tiredness along with the cognitive benefits that come with taking it.

When I'm in one of my crazy training spurts, doing 3-4 hours per day I need at least 10 hours of sleep per night as well as doing pretty much nothing for the rest of the day.

I'm not surprised you're always feeling this way if you are trying to live a normal existence alongside that level of activity.

There's a reason why pro athletes do very little but eat train and sleep.

Get blood iron and thyroid levels checked.
You could be anemic from iron deficiency or suffer from hypothyroidism(underactive thyroid)
If you feel burnt out or stressed a lot, tell the doctor to check for adrenal fatigue as well

My coworker's wife has celiac disease. He said before she was diagnosed she was always tired and sleepy and they would constantly argue about it. It turned out that she had problems digesting gluten and once she was diagnosed and altered her diet, she changed completely.

Look into it.

Quote:Quote:

It is also possible to have coeliac disease without any symptoms whatsoever. Many adults with subtle disease only have fatigue or anaemia.

Quote:Quote:

Symptoms include pain and discomfort in the digestive tract, chronic constipation and diarrhoea, failure to thrive (in children), anaemia and fatigue

You could have a mild case where fatigue is your only symptom.

^ its a butterfly shaped gland at the front of your neck. Can be either hyper or hypo (or in between, which is normal). Yours might be hypo, given the symptoms. A blood test and MRI will identify this.

Quitting porn and fapping (while difficult and always an ongoing struggle) is the best thing you can do for yourself. I was literally doing it several times a day to once every 10-14 days. I hate myself when I relapse. I feel sapped of my precious bodily fluids [Image: lol.gif] but after a few days I am back to top form.

Also get checked for sleep apnea, even if you are skinny; ask your doc about myasthenia gravis

if you think they're is some seasonal affect disorder going on, blue light therapy

Get B12 and vitamin D, celiac tested. Avoid for profit Lyme disease specialists

do you feel this way on long vacations or not?

Big mold problem in your house?

Some folks who have no issues at all still respond very well to modafanil and add meds

Please report back with your findings?

I'm kind of trying to break out of the same thing right now. One big thing for me is eating breakfast. Typically I just do coffe in the morning, honestly the idea of eating before noon disgusts me but none the less I am making myself eat a granola bar or yogurt or fruit in the morning. I used to always notice I would catch my energy or wind later in the afternoon, in large part that was because that was the first food I was eating in the day so my solution was to give my body some fuel in the morning and I started feeling better throughout the day. I still don't really care for eating before noone but its worth the added energy and focus.

Another thing is my bedtime. Sounds like your getting an adaquete amount of sleep but I used to be in the habit of staying up til at least 1 if not even 2 or 3 in the morning either working or just fucking around. I started going to bed at 10 or 11 and again feeling much better, easier time getting up, more energy.

Lastly, are you doing physical activity, get your body moving, get things flowing, raise your testosterone. I think sedativity makes you more tired and then its like a cycle its hard to get active because you are tired which in turn makes you more tired. I think these 3 things willl fix it for you unless you have a health problem you may need to get investigated.

Didn't read the whole thread, but you might look into your T levels. You can order your own bloodtests these days at places like LEF.ORG - plenty of men of all ages are coming down with the symptoms of low testosterone.

If you have a PCP and insurance, I'd call your doc and say you are frequently tired with what should be sufficient rest, and that you want to get bloodwork done for metabolic and endocrine screening.

If he says no, then get online labs, but no reason not to try your primary first if you can get it all with a 10/20 dollar copay.

We have a reasonable skepticism of mainstream medicine here, but a sharp doctor should be motivated to check this out further.

Sometimes you need to push pretty hard to get your hormone levels checked, most GPs are pretty clueless when it comes to stuff like this. Once you get results you need to actually see them yourself too - as some GPs consider the "normal" scales the defacto standards. Like 298 TT in a 28 year old can be considered "normal" which is absurd.

Anyway you should get your endocrine status checked. Good luck bruddah

Guys good news I found a recent help for my sleep patterns! Black Tea!

This whole sleepy thing killing me and my hate for coffee, I decided "fuk coffee Im a tea person" so I started drinking office tea. Just normal blak Earl Grey tea.

First few days, it works better than coffee in keeping me awake for a few hours, but with the added benefit of not feeling like a whore on her period when the effect wears out. But other than that nothing much.

After a whole week of tea, I started feeling more awake, much more, even when not drinking tea. Usually I would wake up from 7 hours and feel like "lord jesus 5 more min" but the last two nights I only get 5 hours and wake up very easily. I also no longer need to nap at office.

Reading up on the stuff research says that black tea has very good oxidization effect and reduce cancer and shit. For me it would make sense since I eat tons of meat and fat. Im lean due to sole virtue of working out a lot, not bc of eschewing meat, so I guess the tea helps purify all that stuff.

Try it out and see if it works for you guys, esp if you dont like coffee.
