Is there a correlation between gym performance and masturbation?

To elaborate on the title, I've noticed a dip in my performance at the gym over the last several visits. Difficulty completing the last couple of sets, lack of manifest determination and some lethargy. It's like I'm battling against myself to get the performance I want.
I haven't deviated from my routine though - I'm still attending 3 times a week. But sometimes I do have to force myself.
Concurrently, I caved and fapped about a fortnight ago after a suffering a bad case of approach anxiety at a club. Since then I've been indulging every couple of days, maybe more.
I'm wondering if there's a connection. Could it be symptomatic of a lack of testosterone? Could it be diet-related perhaps? Or am I just lacking in willpower?

If I jerk off, I've noticed that I get lethargic and actually have to really force myself to go to the gym instead of wanting to go. As with a lot of things: for example at work, I won't make sales calls as frequently if I jerked off recently, I notice a dip in motivation to write and read or study a language, and I don't eat as well.

Could be all mental, but keeping masturbation to a very low frequency seems to make me more focused in and out of the gym, achieve better pumps, and even lift a little more weight.

It is not mental, it is real. When I masturbate my energy becomes very low, I don't feel like doing anything, that feeling can last 4 or 5 days, reason why I have been trying it to keep it very minimal. Masturbation is even worse than drugs or an alcohol problem, I wish there was a way to completely stop this and I get way more sex than the average person and I still can't stop it, it's crazy. Saying this, I was able to stay 6 months without doing it and I felt a big difference.

My take is that there is a good reason ancient armies forbade their soldiers to sleep with their wives in the weeks before a great battle. These guys have been saying this shit for thousands of years. I'd venture its from personal experience. Their men were more hungry and vicious when they were brimming with testosterone and sexual vitality.

I think having lots of sex really reduces your body energy, it is not as bad as fapping but I have less energy when I am having lots of sex. I need to figure out a way to complete eliminate fapping and lots of sex.

For me if I stop fapping/having sex for a bit then I just bottom out and my testosterone isn't at high levels.

It takes a lot of playing around with timings, however I don't think we're all the same. That's to say, I completely agree that fapping will lower your energy levels and make you lethargic. However, I am a believer in getting off at least every 2 days, or even every day if you time it right(i.e.: at nighttime before bed), so in the morning I wake up hornier than before.

See what works best for you. And just do that.

Zinc and other supplements also helps, as well as working out.

There is a correlation between your motivation to go to the gym and not masturbating, but that's about it.

Think about it logically. Abstaining from fapping doesn't suddenly make you stronger or faster. You don't grow new muscles from not fapping. But you do get more aggressive. And that can be a good thing if you are struggling to make it to your gym sessions.

I think it depends on how you fap. I think fapping with many stops in between keeps your will power high. Later when you come you still feel strong and have will power. I think concentrating on the process is more important than coming.

For some it´s even important to fap because specially when they are old they might lose sexual drive without fapping. So it depends.

When you do this your gym performance might be even better because fapping makes a connection to your emotional part of you and I think the real power comes from our emotions.

For some it´s of course better not to fap at all if they feel weak after it.

Scientists do believe that erectile dysfunction is inversely related to frequency of intercourse or masturbation. In that respect, if you go no-fap for gym gains but can't even get your dick up as a result, then that's dedication I can't relate to.

Masturbating for me makes me demotivated and I feel as if the lifeforce has been sucked out of me. I get lazy, complacent and simply feel worse when it comes to goals and accomplishment of them.

I tend to go in cycles. I can have amazing workouts with minimal masturbation/nut busting in general, but when I went an extended time without blowing a load period, everything in my life was super inconsistent. Generally as long as I am busting a nut 2-3 times a week, I crush all aspects of life. Especially when I am feeling sluggish or down, getting a couple cracks of the stick in gets me back to feeling upbeat and awesome.
