Unarmed man shot in Salt Lake City

"Dillon Taylor was wearing headphones and didn’t respond to the three officers until they surrounded him, Jerrail Taylor said.

"He couldn’t hear them, so he just kept walking. Then ... they had guns pointed at his face. That’s when he turned off the music," he said. "I saw them point guns at my brother’s face, and I knew what was going to happen."

One officer told Dillon Taylor to get on the ground, while another told him to put his hands on his head.

"He got confused, he went to pull up his pants to get on the ground, and they shot him," Jerrail Taylor said."

This is terrifying to me. Once I had a run in with the law where the cops said they had heard reports of an armed man, whom they presumed to be me. I was unarmed, and I made sure to be as cooperative and calm as possible. But jesus was I on edge. I got out scott free, but you never know, one false move and who knows what might have happened.

Crazy lesson to learn with cops, never reach for your waistline. Jesus...

Incredible that there will be no consequences for this.

As a guy who has lived in SLC and delt with these types of guys, you can bet that the brother is doing one of two things 1) straight up lying about the situation or 2) exagurating it to make it seem worse than it was. These are not guys that have no record for violence. This guy was wanted for a felony. I think it's too bad that he died, but it sounds like these cops thought that this guy was supposed to be armed. It really changes the situation when you reach for your pants in that situation.

This was a mistake without a doubt, but these are the types of things that happen with law enforcement anywhere in the world. It doesn't seem like there was any bad intent, just a cop trying to make it home to his family and made a bad decision.

If there are three guys surrounding someone at such close range, wouldn't it make more sense to simply kick a guy if you think he's trying to pull out something, rather than just shoot him?

what will kicking a guy who has a gun even do? Maybe i'm not imagining this correctly. It takes half a second for a guy to pull a gun out of his pocket and shoot you.

It really depends on how close they are. I'm imagining they were adjacent, not 5 meters away or something.

The real takeaway from this is he could still be alive if he didnt sag his pants!

People will only care if it's something that can happen to them as well.

First of all, I don't walk around in hood looking like a thug. I don't look suspicious at all in public

second of all, I don't have a such criminal background and he was a fugitive too. I don't think it will even happen to me and other normal civilians. So I am not worried at all.

I don't have any sympathy for him because of his record. (I just don't want to deal with those creatures)

It's like walking into a bad neighborhood and cry about getting robbed later. Who's fault is it? robbing is bad and people shouldn't do it right?
If you don't want to have a chance of getting killed, then don't commit any crimes.

Keep living your fairy tail life. I'm tall and brown, I don't dress like a thug, I don't have a criminal record, never been arrested. Yet even when I'm with my kids women will clutch their purses, lock their car doors, even men will slide their hands in their back pockets over their wallets when they notice me. I probably make more money than half these people yet this happens to me on a regular basis.

Seconded. My dudes and I walk down the street and we're fucking anime watching, game playing, non-drinking/smoking/drug using nerds. (Nerds in decent shape, mind you, but still nerds). All people see are 3 young black men and shoot us dirty looks. Why? I didn't do anything to anybody. It is what it is. I came to terms with it long ago, and I've still had success despite it. But if you think that isn't a serious concern and limitation, then we just don't exist in the same world.

The real question is do the police have the right to shoot you over any suspicious act.
It seems to me that they could've tasered this guy.

I don't really feel bad for this guy, but don't feel like this couldn't happen to a regular person. This could easily happen to any of us. Why should we have to live in a police state where we are constantly in fear of our govt?

When Obama talked about the same thing, I instantly felt better despite my dislike of him and his policies, because it wasn't just me. Some white lady once clutched her purse and pulled her car door closed, and locked it, when she saw me walk out of a donut shop. I was wearing a suit and tie, headed for my office. I got into my car and shook my head at her and chuckled. Stupid bitch. My suit cost more than her raggedy purse and my car was worth more than twice what hers costs. That racism hamster is incredible.

Take it indoors. Adapt or die. These jack booted thugs with only a high school diploma and a certificate on how to bully people, will even beat and shoot white guys that pop off at the mouth these days. The same way I act in China is the same way I act here now. I stay paranoid. Life is not as comfortable as it used to be in some ways growing up, but at the end of the day when I come home, can I check off the box (Survived being shot over bullshit)? So far, yep. That's a win in my book.

I was going to post something about this in the other thread, but black men sagging pants, with no shirt on, is not being strategic about where they live. Freedom always comes at some unspecified cost or risk. This is now a police state and has been so for the last 4 years at least. People need to wake up and adapt to their surroundings. Drop the fucking falsely attributed elements of "hiphop" style, stop voting for democrats, and learn how to win the right battles in order to win the war (education). Ignorance is no longer a good excuse anymore. Failure to understand the gravity of the situation here can lead to an early grave. All over..., yep.. bullshit.

"He was just a fun kid. He’d always turn a bad situation into a good one," Jerrail Taylor said.

Like that time when they didn't have any money, and they went and did a fun armed robbery and everything was good again.

Shit. Military instructors train local police and many of those guys go do tactical courses in their free time on weekends. They stay amped up.

My first instinct without even thinking would be to put my hands up, away from my body. Who the hell has the first instinct of fixing their shorts when two cawps are pointing guns at you?

This isnt the first time I have heard of that happening. Some guy with sagging pants was pulling his pants up while being confronted by the police and they think the guy is reaching for a weapon so they shoot him.

How you present yourself is important. It's total blue pill bullshit propaganda to say "dont judge a book by its cover... who knows, lil' Jakwon with his sagging pants and NWA t-shirt could be a Nobel Laureate!"

Only a retard thinks like that.

Most gun fights are within 5 feet. And yeah someone tries taking my gun they are getting shot..standard procedure.
Back in the day the Blood and Crips use to have initiations where they tried to grab a sidearm off a cop. After they kept getting shot they stopped that.

It seems to me that they could've tasered this guy.

Normal cops don't usually carry tasers. In NYPD only Sgts have one that they keep in the back up the trunk.

Why? because they are only suppose to be used if a perp is contained and one wants to avoid hand to hand.

Order of engagement is we always 1 up the opponent(and outnumber if possible).

example...perp has a weapon that can be deadly , or cause physical injury, disfigurement..we shoot to stop. That means center of mass, (CHEST , HEART). That includes him being in a position of grabbing your weapon.

Guy comes at you with fists=we use batons

Guy refuses to comply(passive aggressive) =pepper spray

Don't like the rules... tough!

^You say that, up until the point where people start killing pigs. Tough.

The attitude that cops have is disgusting. Assaulting someone with pepper spray because they won't play nice to your high-school bully ass is assault. And with the way things are going, that attitude will be met with escalation from the public soon enough.

I am going to forgive you for TROLLING me because I think you weren't meaning to do that.

It isn't an attitude..it is the legal progression of force. Police Science wasn't written by street cops you know. What do you think? someone should be allowed to just refuse a legal order? We are talking legal NOT illegal.

Pepper spray is much better than a beat down. No it isn't legally assault so stop making stuff up.

You sound like every ignorant guy who gets locked up saying you know your rights, etc..when you don't.I bet you think cops have to read you Miranda rights also when they arrest you? LOL... if you do I will explain to you that you watch too many movies.

In fact when we did paperwork it isn't even considered FORCE( fists and baton are considered force)
You are talking like a thug btw. Calling cops pigs? thought that went out 30 years ago. Truth is cops in USA use much less force than anywhere else and much less force than they did 20 years ago.

The days of 'gunning down cops' are over. And I assure you those doing so were met with MUCH more than they give. I am retired so you can proceed to gun down as many as you like[Image: dodgy.gif]

Those days it was about illegal use of force, blatant corruption and rascism that fueled the fire. There really isn't much of that today, despite Al Sharptons motor mouth.

I have a good suggestion..you don't want to be stopped by cops, tell the victims of crimes to stop reporting descriptions that look like the people stopped. Cops stop those who fit the description the victims give..I guess they are racist or evil..those terrible victims for reporting descriptions of perps that look like those stopped. Shame on them! (being sarcastic now)
Quote:Quote:

Yawn [Image: tard.gif] ok....when that happens you won't be any happier with the society you are living in. Cops with bigger guns and who open fire first and are too busy to help your mother when she is being attacked because they are mobilizing going after cop killers.
