This dish feels very American to me, like this is the direction our country is going.

Do other countries even eat Kale? I feel like its such an extremely American thing. "Oh this is the #1 ranked vegetable out there. You eat Spinach? Hah! Not even top 5 brah!"

The extremes of bacon and kale combined are just perfect for me. This was delicious, and possibly nourishing.

Cook bacon. Lots of it.
Keep bacon fat.
Throw chopped up kale and diced red onion into hot bacon fat.
Cook until slightly browned, maybe 4 minutes.
Serve on a plate all together.

Season with some salt, red pepper flakes, and apple cider vinnegar. Remember this is a salad, just fried. The bacon fat forms the oil in our apple cider vinnegarette dressing here.

It is great you will like it.

It's funny, foodies in Paris are rejoicing that kale has finally made it over there.

Sounds like your recipe there is a just a variation of the classical warm spinach salad, an oldie but a goodie.

The other day I cooked it in a variation of Catalan style.

Catalan style spinach or greens entails sauteeing them with pine nuts and currants or raisins, sometimes diced apple is added. Using this variation of fruit/nuts with greens theme, you can substitute other dried fruit and nuts instead of the currants/pine nuts. The other day I used Barhi dates, pine nuts, and a few rosemary leaves. Toasted walnuts would be great too. Delicious with chicken, and a good way to get your greens and fiber in a meal.

"...so I gave her an STD, and she STILL wanted to bang me."

Funny I was talkng to some French tourists the other day, healthy people who ate their veggies, but they had no idea what Kale was even after reading about it in French. "Is it tasty?" "No not really" "What is its texture, like lettuce?" "No its very tough" "Why do you eat it?" "We feel compelled to"

I made a similar version of this a couple days ago for lunch. I used bacon, walnuts, kale, apple cider vinegar and topped it with some parmesan cheese. I never thought to add red onion, that sounds really good. I also didn't fry the kale. I just tossed everything in a Tupperware and let it sit for 10 minutes so the kale softened a bit.

I complained months ago that I couldn't find it in Spain. I have it every day in my green smoothie with spinach.

TY for the recipe but Kale is common, and you can get it almost anywhere, I make smoothies with it too. In South Korea.

Didn't know. Cool to know it's common there. Is it a common ingredient in Korean food?

I hate kale but put it in my smoothies. Been looking for a way to cook with it as I got an enormous bag from costco.

girls have been going crazy over kale because its the 'new thing'.
I have never tried it myself but I am planning to start making healthy smoothies for breakfast once school starts back up again.
I just hope it would be a good ingredient to add without tasting too strong along with other fruits and vegetables
