Most Aussies are great, I love them, except when it comes to sport. Unfourtunately, they don't know a great deal about New Zealand. Slowly as New Zealand is finding its own identity in the world, many false assumptions are being put to bed. Socially and politically, New Zealand is very often ahead of Australia and it is very common for Australia to adopt laws after they have been tryed in New Zealand. Feminism virtually started there, ironically prostitution is legal and there is a pretty descent adult industry over there, which in many ways can be seen as a test case for much of the world.

I felt like this forum has helped me so much with my travels and country knowledge, so I decided I would do a bit of writing about my home-city. Often on my overseas trips I would run into Americans who know very little about our country. Some think we live in mud-huts and go hunting with spears.
Please feel free to ask any questions and I may make edits as I go.

Auckland, New Zealand
Auckland is the biggest city in New Zealand (but not the capital). Located in the upper North Island. With a population of about 1.4 million people. (It was ranked 4th in a quality of living survey, and 10th in a most livable cities survey)

It is a very spread-out city with an metro density of about 670 people per square mile (apparently similar to LA, it takes a while to get around). It has a central city district surrounded by a lot of urban suburbs.

Economy
The currency is the New Zealand Dollar ($1USD = $1.35NZD). Auckland is a very expensive city. Apparently income in relation to living costs is worse than New York. Tourists mainly come to New Zealand for sight-seeing and adventure tourism. Some of the exports are wine, dairy products, honey and wool.

The Locals
Aucklanders are generally very friendly people, especially towards visitors who need advice. Everyone speaks English (although there is slang). They are moderately well educated about the rest of the world. Auckland is a bit of a mixed-race city with lots of Chinese and Islander (Fijiian, Tongan, Samoan) imports. Auckland is also moving up on the obesity index due to the proliferation of the fast-food culture and lack of gym-culture.

Women
The women in Auckland are below average looks-wise. Genetically, they have roots from British and Irish immigrants. They typically don't know how to dress and most lack a strong femininity. That is not to say there aren't good looking girls, but they are rare. A study shows that in New Zealand on average, 1 in 3 men are good looking compared to 1 in 9 for women. Physically, on average they are short and are medium build.

Nightlife
Aucklanders enjoy getting drunk. They have some binge-drinking issues as part of their culture. There are a lot of clubs in Auckland, and a few bars, most are difficult for spoken game because of loud music. Girls in the city are usually between 18-24 years old. View http://www.snapstar.co.nz for pictures of nightlife.
Dancefloor game, being well dressed and dominant can often have an advantage. Nights to go out are Wednesdays (student nights), Fridays and Saturdays. Better looking girls will come out early from 8-9pm and leave before 12 and then the ratios start to turn bad and into sausage-fests. Drinks in town are expensive ranging (for beers $5NZ when cheap, $8-9NZ when expensive). In the supermarket (Corona is 12 for $22NZ, local beers are 12 for $15NZ, 1L Smirnoff is $30NZ)

Venues
City - Met&Code, along the waterfront, Globe and Margaritas (good for imported girls ie. Koreans, Islanders), Flight Lounge.
Ponsonby - Longroom, Sponge, Whiskey Bar, Grand Central
North Shore - Backyard, Macs Brew Bar, Copper Room

Gaming
Tourists do well in Auckland because the girls like guys with accents, and are the girls considered easy by some travelers. (I honestly like the girls overseas more, but in Auckland I can bang girls by getting numbers and following up for a Day2). Quality is difficult to find and you may find imported girls better looking. Most local guys in Auckland are good looking but have little game, and dress in jeans and button down shirts (some even in t-shirts). Logistics can be difficult because Auckland is such a spread out city but I know guys who can pull it off. Daygame is virtually untouched and girls will usually respond warmly to compliments.

Cell Phone Service
The most common provider in Auckland is Vodafone (021 numbers). Due to the lack of numbers to support it, texting and calling is expensive (20cents per text and $1.50per minute calling). Most people text.

Transport
Most people in Auckland own and drive their own cars. Buses are expensive and about $1.80 per stage and come to a stop every half-hour or hour. Taxis are even more expensive, you usually have to call them and cost around $5NZ per kilometre. It would cost me $50-60NZ to get home from town, $6.50 on a bus.

Thankyou.

Are the Nightlife Venues still relevant?

No. Most of those mentioned don't exist now. What part of Auckland are you headed to?

I'll write something up later. This is really outdated.

Anybody from NZ here? I try to decide between Auckland and Christchurch, coming to NZ this month.
Don't care about the nightlife, I look for a place near beautiful landscapes, friendly people and nice weather. Plan to stay for a long period.

^ Neither of these two cities is a particularly good choice for your requirements, although the weather is not too bad and beautiful landscapes only short to medium distances away. As you said nightlife is not important to you, I'd rather recommend Nelson or Napier/Hastings (Hawke's Bay), and possibly Tauranga. If money is not an issue, you like mountains and it doesn't need to be a city - go for Queenstown or Wanaka.

if you got yellow fever, face club is probs the best in terms of quality, however they seem cliquish, bar101 for young students, 1885 in britomart can get pretty good. Do check out ponsonby when you have the chance, longroom (u gotta dress up proper) and little easy are pretty good.

A little too late but useful info. Most of the data in the earlier posts are outdated. However places like Lenin and the pubs in Fort Street are still there. However, these attract the older crowd. Quay street has a lot more going on. Kiwi girls are definitely more open to talk than in Australia. Did not encounter a single rejection although I was going out only for a weekend in Auckland. Higher talent in the 8-9 range seem happier to talk to strangers. It seems that girls do approach guys in some places and they are often solo or in pairs. Better to roll in 2s or 3s in Auckland if its all guys. Found girls are not as dressed up as in Australia but if they are, they are more likely to be looking to meet guys. Street game at venue closing time might work here. One can find solo girls walking alone at that time. Have seen girls talking to 'chode' guys with heavy accents for some time even after midnight in the street where in other countries they woulnt give the time of day to these guys. Again, they are approachable.

For daygame, I am sceptical about it. There is very little chance to demonstrate exoticness. There are people of all kinds. There are kiwi girls rolling with friends of all colours so they are very open minded when it comes to dating coloured guys. But, I did detect some hustle in the people during the day so very little IOIs to be had also because no one is exotic here. But Auckland girls, if they are interested will send out clear signals so do approach immediately! It might also be possible to turn a neutral girl into an interested one with verbal game because they are actually interested in talking with foreigners so not getting IOIs is not a good excuse to not approach.

The quality I found was not really much worse than other anglosphere countries as it has been made up to be and if it was, the more pleasant attitude does make up for it. I am not sure if NZ girls like to blue ball guys in the end but I actually felt NZ girls are more approachable than the Euro tourists. NZ guys are pretty reserved for the most part and they might prefer to hit the tourists so that might be the reason local girls tend to take the initiative. However, kudos to kiwi guys for not being needy and so making girls less snobbish.

To summarise, Auckland is definitely doable but mediocre game is required. Do not expect to go there with little to no game for a few days and get lucky. Fast target identification and approach is needed because girls at night do give off the DTF vibe and the local guys know it. Some threads mention Auckland to be the hardest for game in NZ but if that is so, it is hard to imagine how it can be further away from Auckland in places like Wellington or Christchurch where the demographic is more homogenous. The forum does advice guys to not come to Aus/NZ for game but if you really have to, Auckland I feel makes a pretty good case for NZ but be prepared for higher prices on everything, like $9NZD for a pint of local beer. It can be useful to compare game in Auckland with Melbourne or Sydney because although the local girls look similar in these places, the way they think is different across the Tasman Sea.

I find it really interesting how you think that. I'm from Auckland but am currently visiting Christchurch. I only do daygame. I target hot(white, not really into Asians) girls walking on their own, so in Auckland that is mainly(often 90%+) European tourists. It's probably because most Kiwi girls are very subpar and the few that aren't are in pairs or groups.

There is pretty much zero approach culture here. I believe even at night guys don't talk to girls. I feel weird being the only guy who does it.

Speaking of Christchurch, it's very dead. They blame the quakes. Would not recommend. Wouldn't recommend Auckland either but at least it's not seriously deficient. I believe Wellington might be good because it's denser than Auckland, and Dunedin/Queenstown have good student/tourist populations, but overall NZ is just a pussy desert like UK and Australia. I haven't been to anywhere except Auckland and Christchurch though.

>Higher talent in the 8-9 range seem happier to talk to strangers.

I assume you mean nightgame because I have not been able to consistently find girls in that range in the streets or cafes or parks.

Are you not white just wondering?

I like mountains but I don't want to hang out in a place without people outside and no opportunities for day game.
I need a place with some gyms, horse farms and not far from mountains. What city should it be?

Any tool for pipelining?

I am coloured, would that make a difference in Auckland? Approached during the night. I guess girls are more receptive because guys dont approach and I also think from my conversations that the local guys kind of know they can get laid if they put in some effort but they go for the tourists anyway. So, I saw more girls taking the initiative at night, but they might be call girls, I wouldnt know because they tend to zone in onto the targets straight away.

Daygame might be harder because girls look busy but I felt they still send clear signals if they are interested.

Also, have you been to the UK? How is it a pussy desert when the forum talks about girls up north from London being some of the easiest?

I've read some of your posts before about struggling in Aus. Not being white would probably explain why you found Aus hard but not NZ.

Haven't been to the UK, just read about it. London is definitely the best because of the large amounts of EE girls. I doubt you will find much success with the local British girls. London is likely not better than EE. I think Roosh did a video.

The rest of the UK I've read is much worse than London.

Yeah, Aus can be hard because the girls seem to prefer white guys but like I said we need somebody who has gone to Auckland and Melbourne/Sydney to effectively compare. I did see a lot of NZ white girls with black guys and even chinese guys in Auckland.

Apart from London, the rest of the UK seem to have conflicting info which range in the extremes. There are people who say that in the Anglosphere, the UK is the most conducive for coloured guys. London is just too expensive and has become somewhat like a PUA capital.

The best place in NZ for game is undoubtedly Queenstown. All the hottest tourists go there, as well as the local basic bitches. Expensive though. Your best bet is working in the tourism industry.

I moved back to Auckland recently after many years away.
Daygame is great. Virtually no competition in cbd where population is mostly young Asian students. Lots of tourists. The quality of the local girls is awful but there's more than enough backpackers to go around.
I'm not much into nightgame but if you stay anywhere around the bottom half of queen st your logistics will be fine.

Where exactly do you daygame in the CBD? My experience is there aren't many backpacker girls. Obviously the local girls aren't worth going for.
