My Life in Budapest- Sourcecode's Budapest Thread

i recognize I am paying more for my apartment than normal. but it's recently renovated and modern compared to every other apartment I've been in. none if the girls I've been in have apartments as nice as mine.. I'm also living in the street with lots of ruin pubs. at most a 2 minute walk to the further bar and the closest being s couple seconds from my apartment building. logistics/price can't be beat without lease

I'm also splitting the cost with a friend.
These cost are more than half what we would pay for less room in places like Atlanta and Charleston where I lived in the past
my stays are 3 new Hungarian girls in the last twenty days. including 2 I already have inthe rotation.
this is me being extremely lazy.. it's easy to walk 30 seconds to szimpla at 1am and chat up a curious British girl for thirty minutes and get her to my place.
I've pulled a small handful of British and Croatian bangs from with strategy.

I have the most success gaming girls at the park bear deak now.
I've pulled more than a couple numbers.the number if dates outweighs the flakes..so I'm fine with it

Having just come back from Hungary (Budapest and Debrecen) i have to agree with Sourcecode, alot of real stunners here.

Most taxis that are yellow are the local government taxis and always go by the meter. Most short journeys (under 10) mins cost about 1000 to a max 1500 huf.

I actually preferred Debrecen over Budapest, although Budapest has a much much larger nightlife.

Bumped into some pros in 1 bar too, so you do have to be a bit careful here. I'd definitely return here again.

That sounds very efficient. I can see why you picked the apartment.

I've heard that's a rather new phenomenon from a guy partying here for over a decade. Happend to me at KRAFT some weeks ago. Two girls in their early twenties. One of the two had the most genuine smile in the entire club, so I started talking to her. After a while her friend said "Ok. How much for both of us?" I knew she wasn't joking but continued to game the sweet one for first shoring flag; she was removed from me by her friend soon.

I've done some day game in BP and found the local girls to be ridiculously sceptic, no matter how on it is or how much their eye spazz. The city feels like a town when it comes to girls. You start to run into ones you gamed sooner or later. This is not dramatic but noticeable. I bumped into Authenticpua recently here. He will shoot a series of daygame videos & am looking forward to how he does. I can only recommend daygaming young girls, under 22. Above that it get's really hard.

Club gaming locals can be frustrating as well. On the one hand, hungarian girls really drink a lot. On the other, they consistenly eye fuck me, I approach, talk, touch, only to find a local dude getting in the way. "Who is this?" "He my boyfriend".[Image: tard.gif]

I'm doing very well in BP, with 4 new lays this month, but none of them was Hungarian.[Image: dodgy.gif]

Ah yes Steve is there, he's something else though, he's brilliant at what he does.

Guys, skip Siófok in most days. I'm here right now and the ratio is aroubd 7 guys per girl or 15 per guy in this other place. I will come back some other day but for now....crap.
I was supposed to stay here until the morning but even the shittiest girl has two thisty idiots behind her all the time. I admit I don't have the best game but.the ratio is ridiculous.

You have been warned, good night.

That's a good plan. My idea would be 9 months of the year in Budapest while wintering in southern Thailand. I don't think there's a better combo out there.

I find it extremely odd that someone can say they were Budapest for several weeks and never saw an 8. What part of Budapest were you in? I wanna see what kinda girls you're bagging if you couldn't find an 8 in a city of over a million

I never saw an 8 in the streets. There was some impressive talent in the higher-end nightlife venues. I'd say Budapest is a city where the average girl is nothing to rave about but the top tier is better than what you'd find in Germany, France,etc..The women are also very slutty and sexy which makes up for it. There's a reason why Budapest is the porno capital of Europe.

I stayed in the 7th district. It's a lovely city with all the amenities one could ever need. I'd happily move back. In fact, it's on the agenda. If you're living there though, you need to learn Hungarian. English levels are poor and unlike the Czechs/Slovaks they are very proud of their language.

Your last two post contradict each other so much.
You say that you stayed in district 7....which is full of night life venues.
But you never managed to see an 8 in the street?
I can throw a rock and hit a 8 right now..or walk ten minutes to District 5 and see a sea of 8

You say there is nothing to rave about in budapest... but you would like to live here 9 months out of the year

Like I said, I didn't see them walking the streets during the day. A few came out of hiding around midnight and only in select venues. Places like Instant or Szimpla were pretty bad honestly.

My standards are very high though and I have a narrow preference for tall-busty-pale blue/green eyed women. Not alot of that to be found in Budapest compared to Prague or Bratislava though there are some gems.

To each their own. You can find that look here easily but I don't see them going for foreigners. If you want tall busty pale Scandinavian-like women, no problem at all, but you better polish up the Hungarian a bit, or it could take a lot more work.

Also, in my opinion, going to Instant for hot women is like going to the bakery looking for a pair on jeans.

I remember being sorely disappointed with the quality in Budapest...until I went to a couple clubs on the Buda side. One was on a boat, A38. There were a lot of hotties there. Most didn't speak English too well.

I agree but most of the nightlife in the 7th district is a touristy sausage-fest. I don't know how sourcecode can say there are a "sea of 8s" in district 5 or 7. Most of the girls in the clubs there aren't even Hungarian. Some nights, all I heard was German.

SC, having read your Brno report, I think you should consider taking short trips to two locations: Pécs, Hungary, and Osijek, Croatia.

I've been to Osijek (2 year old datasheet here, but probably still same venues). It is one of my poosy paradises. Tall, long legged, long haired, slim and sweet women.

I actually intended on heading to Pécs after Osijek, but I went to the train station with the girl I was banging and asked her to choose a destination, and she picked Budapest. Had a great time there too, but I've always wondered what Pécs would be like, they seem to share many characteristics: cheap, home of large universities, isolated enough for us to have high status as foreigners.

When Sziget happens... Is is all self contained..or will their be a lot of spillover into the city also

My Life in Budapest- Sourcecode's Budapest Thread

Pretty much self-contained. First of all, Hungarians are starting to turn away from Sziget so much, that they are given incentives such as easier entry and Magyar Dál Napja (The day of the Hungarian song), without much success. They use the cost as an excuse, but the truth is that they don't like to be around masses of foreigners. When you ask them past their money bs, they talk about not wanting to get close to bunches of dutch people.

Second, and the biggest reason, is that Sziget takes place on the Hajógyari. This island takes time to reach, it's easily 45 minutes from the center, it's only reachable by a slow and old suburban train and the area around does not continue the party ever since the locals started to avoid the festival.Óbuda and Kaszásdűlő, next to the island, have amazing parties but they are so underground and tight-lipped that not even I know about them. I once got lucky with one and the ratio and quality was incredible.

By the way, if anyone is curious.about pulling at Sziget, that's another thing on itself. Camping tickets have been sold out officially for months. Let's say that logistics are trickier.

it's all drunk brits and such..but it you do meet a Hungarian..stick with her..she's probably there to meet a foreigner

As a lot of people have slowly found out. I decided to take an extended stay of 3 months in Budapest.
I've been giving rave reviews of Budapest to everyone I know, and finally decide to move here for a couple months and see what kind of trouble I could get into.

Hopefully I get the time to make constant updates. On day to day life.
To start off.. I have no job here. I'm living solely on saving. Aka I do nothing during the day, but brainstorm ideas to start a sort of business do "freelance" work for a couple dollars here and there.

This is just stream of conscience.. Im not really getting anywhere specific here....
But ill do my best to answer anywhere questions from the viewpoint of a young Black American, living in Budapest

Ill start with the WHY.
Why did I come here?
2 years ago I planned to visit Austria.. but the plane ticket from where I was in Europe to Budapest was less than 20 dollars thanks to Ryanair. I planned to stay in Budapest a couple days and head to Vienna and travel around Austria.
A friend and I skipped the hostel and Couchsurfing route and rented apartment on Airbnb in a great location for pennies.
We spent 3 days in Budapest exploring the city and bar hopping with great success. I fell in love with how inexpensive the city was.. and how much friendlier and interesting it was compared to the western European countries ( Especially Germany) I had been to.

For the next couple years I researched cost of living and such in the city and found it was almost half that of my city back home.
Eventually I had a big block of time ( three months) and decided I would set up shop in Budapest.
I found a friend that had been to Budapest a year after me (after my recommendation) and we decided to find a great apartment and just leave the States for a while. At the cost of burning a bit of our long earned savings...and not going straight into the job world. We are now here.

My impressions of Budapest...is that the city is awesome. They summers are warm/hot..people are always in the city.
Its just big enough that its possible to find a new place ever night for a long time... but its not big enough to get lost in the city. Its also small enough that you can become a familiar at places you frequent.
Budapest gets a fair amount of tourist..But luckily they aren't asshole tourist that shit in the streets.

I live on a busy street that is often filled with hostel goers...but also many Hungarians.

Public transportation is cheap and extremely on time.

People speak English at a percentage that makes it extremely manageable to live without knowing anything more than basic Hungarian phrases like yes, no thanks you..ect

And when I have a hard time understanding Hungarian...its not hard to make a local friend and have someone help you out

Hungarians are extremely welcoming on the outside.
Race doesn't seem to be a problem.. Ive found quite a few African living decently in the city. Even a couple small businesses.
In some countries I have been to.African minorities seem almost sketchy in their lifestyles.. but here.. I even see mixed couples walking though the city(if albeit rarely)
From what I've learned..Hungarians seem extremely curious about black people.
Many of my Hungarians friends..both guys and girls...joke that i'll have no trouble finding a wife here.. every other girl wants "cappuccino" babies.

I can't say this is all hype.. I do extremely well with women here...but this is on top of my already great game.

Friendly and genuine..but what I've come to recognize.. is that Hungarians view complaining as a past time.
It seems like every facet of life can be complained about and Hungarians are often extremely stubborn.

Ive noticed this across the bored that Hungarians..once annoyed by something to the smallest bit...will let it build up and complain for the rest of the week about it.

Where I thought a lot of Hungarians were just making small talk that I didn't understand( not speaking the language) Hungarians often make a lot of back handed compliments. But are self aware of their bitchiness.

Im not generalizing all Hungarians..cause I've met quite a few down to earth ones.... but they have told me some of the comments they hear when people don't realize they speak Hungarian.

Social circles play a big role in Hungarian society it seems.
In America..you can meet people quickly and superficially and whisk them off quickly.
Hungarians seem to care little more of what people think of them and women stay in their groups much tighter than back home.

Their is a clear tier system.
If you aren't in the circle... you may never be let in fully.
You can get in temporarily but you might not get full benefits... in this sense.. it seems a little hard to make friends because as friendly as Hungarians are.. often I think they are a little suspicious of foreigners.

This isn't without reason though..
Historically.. Hungarians have been ran through by many different empires..and even now.
So many tourist roll in an out of Budapest, that girls are extremely suspect to dating a non hungarian.
People are extremely surprised and confused to learn that Im living here... because most young hungarians have dreams of getting out.

There is no gym culture here.
Gyms are extremely expensive...with the average hungarian wage... gyms can be upwards of 15 percent of a person income.

You can get gym memberships in america for average 30 dollars a month and in lots of places cheaper.
Gym memberships in Budapest are 50+ a month. and anything cheaper puts strict limitations on your gym time.
The cheapest gym was about 25 dollars a month.. but i could only go before 3pm.
Which isnt to horrible.. get your morning reps in... but for anyone that goes to work.. you wont be able to go to the gym.
And conssidering places like LA fitness, often have state of the art weight rooms and machines.. with saunas, pools and hot tubs for 30 dollars a month.

I feel like im getting ripped off.. on top of that.. so many gyms looks like whole in the wall basement with no AC.
Im current paying 50 dollars a month for a place.. simply because they have equipment that looks like it can support weight.
But the gym is only about the size of my Average house..back home

The people that go to gyms are either making some decent catch...really dedicated...or porn stars.

The above ground gyms have lots of hot girls doing light cardio or working out with trainers.
I cant fathom why a 20s girl really needs a trainer..let alone who is paying her upwards of 100 dollar a month membership?

Last thing I have to say?
Why is Bacon so expensive?
I might not be looking so hard.. but Why is good bacon like 6 dollars a pack

another portion of by datasheet can be found on my blogGround Review of Budapest

or littered in the Budapest nightlift datasheet

I did some math.
I have been here about a week. it will be my first full month in budapest. without leaving the country.

after paying rent..I have been to A big music festival (Balaton sound)
Bought new clothes, basic stuff for my apartment. along with groceries.
Topped off with going out about 3 nights a week.
plus the money in my wallet.. I have spent 1034 dollars.

If I hadnt gone to this music festival, or bought clothes+ lots of stuff i dnt need..
I probably would only spend about 800.. and be able to go out 3 nights a week.

Im thinking about taking pictures of menus at bars and restaurants I go to also so people can see the prices im paying for stuff.
Would people be interested in that?

Interesting findings, i have been 4 times in budapest so far for stays between 2 or 3 weeks, it s a place i would love to live one day when i get more vacations or time.

In my more recent budapest visit july 2014, first time i visit during summer things have changed a little bit specially the nightlife scene, Margaret island used to be the place to be (it had the biggest clubs white angel, studio, dokk, venues that can stand between 2000 and 5000 guests all next to each other), now the nightlife is scattered all around the city, and smaller venues like Otkert, trafiq, kraft, rio, morrison liget, on weekdays it s less interesting except few spots but starting thursday city come alive.

Hungarian girls are gorgeous and very open minded, down to earth too. I have to disagree with you about Hungarian guys, a lot of the hungarian chicks i dated told me that they don t hungarian guys for many reasons, i have seen it first hand how they approach women, and in most countries they would get a slap for that, let s not talk about the dress code, but there is everything everywhere, rich hungarian guys are doingg very well with chicks no matter how old they are, most hungarian guys with good looks making enough cash have a model like girlfriend, and that s a good thing that takes a whole bunch of competition away. Main problem for foreigners is that some ( not all ) Hungarian chicks look for some stability , even a tiny bit, it means if you tell her that you are leaving in two days that would cut your chances by 80%... I always say i am staying for a month and i come back in a couple of month, or that you travel for budapest regularly for buisness that s a game changer.

In Budapest MONEY TALKS, you can break any circle even if you travel solo with enough money, i ll elaborate, first of all most clubs have VIP areas, who ever u are you can get there by paying 3000 -5000 ft/ for your table anywhere between 30000 to 60000 ft , most of the girls that gets in there usually don t pay, they know someone, and a lot of times you would see some girls chatting the bouncers to let them in, guess what if you have your own table inside, you can get any girl in. On my last trip i was solo having bottle service in some of the clubs, i got invited at least 3 times by the vip area managers to join their table, they chat you up because they want you back, this vip manager is the one that's surrounded by girls and bring those girls every weekend to the club, once you are a regular (which you can achieve having couple of tables over there for a week and your friend with that vip manager, sky is the limit).

As i said the big venues are mostly open during weekends, the rest of the week up you have to find your way between ruin pubs and small university pubs, where there is no vip anything , cheap booze and all sort of people. You need time to get to know the right spot in budapest, you can meet a lot of these girls during the week, take their number and text them later for a dinner and a lot of time they can invite you to their place for wine and sex of course.

Life in budapest is easy no matter what your budget is, it s cheap compared to western European standards, it s one of those cities where you just don 't wanna leave.

If you have enough game, you can even meet girls during the day, shopping ( Hungarian girls love shopping) so malls are not a bad place and spas are even better where you can meet tourists and locals.

Other then clubs/ girls, the city by itself is great, the food , the spas, massages and yeah there is some interesting erotic massage venues. So
there is a lot of things you can do during the day.

Hungarian language is hard, but u can do fine with just english, few times i spend nights with a girl who doesn't speak a word of english just by using google translate.
