Great thread.

The ride situation definitely depends on where you're located and your lifestyle.

I'm of the opinion that you should get a mode of transportation that makes you content. Doesn't matter if it's a luxury car, public transit, car service, bicycle, sports car, hooptie, motorcycle, or "working man's" vehicle.

My current car limits me. It's a piece of shit. I can't roll down my window to approach a girl. I can't speed up or slow down to "time" an interaction with her. I often park quickly and jog over to approach a girl I like.

Today, I saw a beautiful young, white girl walking down the street. I pulled over, parked, ran across the street and found her at the bus stop. I walked past the bus stop without saying anything, the bus stop was packed with families, young people, old people, etc. I didn't feel comfortable approaching the girl, I pussed out. Fuck!!

love the b5 s4 wagons! but they are such a nightmare to keep running, blowing turbos, o2 senors, MAF's leaking coolant flanges, airbag lights on etc etc etc. There is a really nice 6 speed wagon that looks just like that one for sale in my town, so tempting, but I know I will hate my life if I buy it.

Thought I would update this, I decided not to pony up the cash at this point for a flashier car. I think part of what makes me unique is the fact that I am a complete DIY person, and can rock a shitty old car reliably. Flashy cars aren't really congruent with the rest of my personality anyways. I am still working on finishing up my old audi for my next daily driver, and not taking out loans to buy something nicer just so i can impress lizards.

The girl I am currently seeing has said multiple times that my current beater VW is sexy. I thought she was joking at first, but realized she is dead serious. I think what she finds sexy is that I have the ability to fix pretty much anything and IDGAF what people really think about me.

No car payment FTW.
