Just arrived in st petersburg Russia, after 1 month in Moscow.
Former seat of the Russian aristocracy during Russia's Golden Age. The city itself is quite beautiful. It has a different feel from Moscow. More casual, laid back attitude. But still a bustling metropolis. Think going from New York, to San Fransisco, as the closest western comparison.
Parts of it feel fancy. It has a more European vibe. The arts are a big deal here. I hear opera singers belting out in the buildings I walk past, whereas Moscow had more of a corporate, business feel. The weather is windy & rainy every other day here. If you're lucky, you will get a few nice sunny days.
There are many more tourists out during the day in St Petersburg than I was expecting. Kind of annoying, but at least not on the level of say Prague.
Ok, ok...what about the girls?
The women in St Petersburg are, unfortunately, not as hot as the women in Moscow. The average is still 7 in both cities, but St Peter women don't dress as sexy as Moscow women do. Less effort = less daily boner effect. But they are still mostly thin and attractive, in line with EE standards. They're also bit curvier on average compared to moscow girls, who are are some of the thinnest EE's around, after Wroclaw girls. I see more big tits here than in Moscow, which is nice. I guess they need better insulation up here to survive the colder winters. I'm not complaining.
As far as faces go, St Peter is similar to Poland, where you see lots of nice fit bodies, with rather average looking faces. If you want pretty, disney princess looking faces, you want to be in Scandinavia anyway, not Russia. Here it's more of that angular, model look.
There are more blondes & redheads to be seen up here than down in Moscow, which came as no surprise. English is not as widespread in St Peter. More girls I approach here don't speak it. I'd say just under 50%.
There are more women walking with their best friends & moms in St Peter, compared to Moscow where I saw more independent, 9-5 working girl types. St Petersburg is more conservative, culturally & sexually. Pipelining takes more effort to get logistics. Actually, online game has been a total bust for me. All flaked. And I know my online dating shit. Plus I planned in advance.
St Peter is a bit more affordable than Moscow (which is expensive as fuck), but not by much. Rent in the city center costs almost the same. The food is cheaper than in Moscow, but just about as terrible tasting.
The best thing St Peter, and Russia in general has going for it, is the receptiveness of the women. Both during the day, and out in the nightlife. Because of this, I'd still put St Peter in one of my top 5 cities for game, despite it's imperfections.
Nevsky Prospect is the main street. It runs a straight line through the city center, and is the best place I found so far for daygame. There are parks all over the place. They don't have as many targets, but they are more comfortable to game, due to lower road noise and less chaotic distractions as found on Nevsky. Like Moscow, getting instadates here = EZ mode. I spent 1-2 hour blocks with different hotties. Chatting on benches, drinking tea, and other slow roll type shit to setup a day 2. Don't come to St Peter unless you have at least 1 week to make the magic happen. Preferably 2. Non-club girls move even slower here than in Moscow. It's only been 4 days, and I've met multiple virgins who are already in their early 20's.
There's a huge indoor shopping mall called Galleria. This would be the go-to place for cold weather day game. Additionally, the whole city block sized building on the south side of Nevsky prospect metro is an indoor shopping center, a little cheaper, and without the name brand stores found in the Galleria.
Night here is very fun. And I don't usually like nightlife. Its much less pretentious and snooty than Moscow nightlife. People are just having a great time all around. At night, the women get dolled up nicely. Perhaps not to the level of Moscow, but close. Nightlife here feels more down to earth.
All the good bars & clubs are on the intersection of Dumskaya & Lumunosova street. Fidel (dirty, filthy place), Rhino bar, Cube bar (my personal favorite), Soul kitchen, Lomonosov (3 floors of hotties). There's a big club that begins with an R, down 2 blocks to the east, and is a larger venue, and definitely worth the walk. Sorry, I can't seem to find the name.
I did get cockblocked there, and almost got into a fight, which rarely happens to me. Just some drunk Russian white knight orbiters who got overprotective of their lady friend, who was all over me in the club. Besides this isolated incident, I had a great time chatting up hot girls Saturday night. Most had boyfriends there at the club with them. The available ones didn't speak English well enough for me to plow. Broke into a few social cliques who were curious to talk to an American.
Anyway, I'm gonna stick to my day game regimen a bit longer up here and try to make something happen.
Bottom line? St Petersburg isn't the best EE city for anything. Moscow has hotter girls. Wroclaw has more targets. Prague has more sluts. But St Peter has no glaring drawbacks either. It's a runner up, all across the board. Arctic winters not withstanding, I'd put it in a solid second place, for almost every category.
St Peter is like the reliable go-to rotation girl. She may not be a dime piece who has everything you really want, but she's got what you need.
For a westerner, there's a lot to like here. The hard part is to merely shake that nagging feeling, that poosy paradise might be someplace else...
