San Francisco/San Jose

I am going for a business conference in San Jose at the beginning of March for the weekend. I'll be there Friday afternoon and I will leave on Sunday evening.

I want to go out in the evening and get my tip wet. Can anyone recommend any venues fairly close? I don't want to splurge a lot of cash per se but I would love to scoop up some safe filthy lizards for vaginal rearrangement.

To all my Cali scally's, give me some advice.

As always, it is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Check out "Santana Row" in San Jose. Is a high end outdoor mall with a bunch of bars/clubs and restaurants that get going at night.

San Francisco/San Jose

The main issue with San Jose Area is screwed male to female ratio. Like five to one or so; there is a reason this area is called "Man Jose". It is extremely rare that you'll see a single chick in a club/bar who is not surrounded by a bunch of "friends" unless she's fat or 50yo. San Francisco, Santa Cruz and even Hollister have better rates. If you still want to stay in San Jose and into chicks in their 20s, your best bet would be to check the areas near the universities and downtown San Jose. Palo Alto may be a good spot as well if you're not Asian.

However the logistics may be an issue for you. If you're going to stay in San Jose, San Francisco is not that close, and if you don't want to drive and take Caltrain, it will take you roughly two hours to get to SF bars (Caltrain last stop is 4th which is a shithole). If you have a car and willing to drive, go to Santa Cruz instead, more opportunities there.

Personally I'd ignore Santana Row as it was touristy and expensive last time I checked it. Giovonny, have you been there recently? What kind of crowd goes there now?

Santana Row is in my backyard. It is indeed touristy, expensive, swanky - a place to see and "be seen" by people. It's a shopping area decked out with expensive stores with fancy names. There are six bars here: Straits, Molly Magees, Roux, V-Bar, Blowfish and Sino. They're all within 2 mins of each other. The first three have small dance floors and a $10 cover.

Ratio: It's called Man Jose for a reason. Girls are never alone.
Dress: Guys dress trendy but no suits. Girls dress well.
Crowd: Mostly Large groups. Oldnemesis is right. Girls tend to hang here in large groups (girl-girl or mixed). You will see a lot of guy-only groups and a lot of guys in tow with their girlfriends. Cockblocking is normal.
Demographic: Mostly Asians and whites, with solid minorities of Mexican, Persian, Indian and European girls. Mostly silicon-valley career girls. Few dark skinned men.
Safety: This area's very safe. You'll see a few cops on bicycles.

Overall, this is the technology capital of the west so just like an engineering campus, not many lookers here. Have fun in with the "I just flew in for a conference and am looking for a sexy tour guide" opener.

Nearby Areas:
You can check Castro St. in Mountain View (15 min north) Palo Alto (25 min North), Campbell/Los Gatos (15 mins South) and San Jose Downtown (5 min East). Palo Alto is quieter and has fewer bars, but Stanford U is nearby hence you'll find a qualified lizard or two to share wine with . Campbell has quieter nightlife but I've recently directed my efforts here and the girls are "supposed" to be more open minded. San Jose Downtown is all university students, more meat-market and more grimy compared to the rest of the area. Lot more cops in actual cop cars.

San Francisco:
If you've never been, I recommend heading north to SF (1 hr) - average girl quality is 2 points higher than San Jose and there's a lot more girls per capita. Union Sq. in San Francisco is the central shopping district and will be teeming with honeys on Saturday afternoon. It's right in the middle of town with lots of activity and a nice place to chill. Spend Saturday checking out SF. There are a lot of bars and clubs all over SF that you can hit later at night.

Here's an SF nightlife thread: http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-2270.html

One last thing, the closing time for almost all bars here is 1:30-2 am. And it's raining a bit here these days.

Anymore questions: feel free to ask.

San Jose and "Santana Row" is not the place to go for hardcore party girls who are DTF, Sure it can happen but most of these girls are young working professionals . This is the heart of "Silicon Valley". Most peoples idea of a good time is writing code for some new software or something like that. This ain't Hollywood or Manhattan or South Beach. People don't party that hard and everything shuts down around 2am. The vibe of the city is not a wild free flowing party atmosphere like Vegas or New Orleans etc. Most of the girls are pretty educated so they are not in that mindset of a girl who is just trying to have fun. The quality is not that great and its very diverse. I would say around 25% white, 25%, Latin, 25% Asian, and 25% everything else.

If you want more DTF girls I would go to the Latin clubs in downtown San Jose or up to SF, which is 1 hour away. In SF, I would go to the "Marina" for high end white girls, "South of Market" for a mixed party crowd. And "The Mission" for a working class party crowd. There are some solid SF data sheets on this Forum if you search around.

My vote is go up to the "Mission" in San Francisco, and "Union Square" during the day

Giovonny's on point. Good advice. Being a local, I'm going to try and incorporate some of it myself.

Oldnemesis, any suggestions on what spots/bars to hit down in Santa Cruz? It's an hour south of here, and I haven't been there in a year. Might be fun to explore.

Union Square in SF is a good bet on a weekend night. A lot of sweet spots around a 4 - 5 block radius.

Friday evening Happy Hour is always crowded in most places in Union Square and SOMA, so that might be a good starting point. There is always something or the other happening in most places in those areas on Friday and Saturday night, and the crowd is generally much better than in San Jose.

If you need information on particular spots, shoot me a message and I can point out a few place/parties happening on those days.

Santana Row reminded me of Scottsdale, AZ and LA. Pretty lame. Man Jose is a true term. Instead head down to a spot in SF called "Slide" and if you can't come out of there with something you can cab over to Crazy Horse and really feel the love!

SF nightlife isn't that great. Your best bet for a crowded place with a dance floor and some decent looking girls is Bubble Lounge. Also, it has no cover. Temple Club is probably the biggest place in SF and you get a lot of stupid chicks from the East Bay out there. If you want some rich white tail then check out the Marina like Matrix Fillmore, it's a decent looking place design wise but it's a shithole thanks to the bad guy-girl ratio and plethora of douchbags. Some decent looking chicks there though, and also at the other places on the same street. There are a few good newer bar/clubs on Geary like Ambassador, it often gets super packed. Slide and Harlot are nice, probably the only two places in SF that act LA and are sorta hard to get into if you have a penis. Ruby Sky is right next to Slide, it's a huge place you can roll into if Slide doesn't let you in. I'd avoid the Mission -it's filled with pretty nasty hipster girls though there are some cool bars like Double Dutch. There's a fairly big club called Medjool in the Mission that gets some okay looking girls sometimes, but I've never had much luck there. Good luck.

My info would be at least three years old as I haven't been there recently. It was good place, but spending two hours driving (especially on a road like Hwy 17) just to get laid is something I'm not willing to do anymore.

Santa Cruz has lots of college kids but the school, UC-Santa Cruz, is notorious for having some of the most ugly tree hugging chicks in the world. I would not recommend.

I'm originally from this area and have spent many nights lementing the lack of anything decent in the south bay.

However, I have always found downtown Campbell to be the best place to pull in the area. Now that is not saying much, but at least you get significantly less bitch shields than in at shit hole like Santana Row, and you are much less likely to get stabed than during a night out in downtown San Jose. However, logistics are a pain as with all other locations in the area.

My favorite was always Cardiff Lounge, especially thrursday nights when they had a good DJ. Katie Blooms was ok, but can get bro-y. Last time I was out there was a few years ago, so take with a grain of salt.

Can you book your hotel in SF and take Caltrain to San Jose?

If so, get a hotel in Union Square. Hotels in SF are surprisingly affordable.

Staying in San Jose would be less than idea. Night life is awful. If you wanted to go to SF, you'd have to drive, since public transportation stops running pretty early.

It's a doable weekend, but first see if you can book your hotel in SF.

Forget "Man Jose"...go to the city!!!! Union square, get an hotel room and then caltrain.

Another choice is Palo Alto, they have a couple of good bard where I just to pick up. ("Rudy's" and The "Old Pro"). Competition is minimum, mostly Stanford and software nerds.

There is also a place call "Los Gatos" which is close to Man Jose, it is upscale, full of Milfs and rich spoiled girls. Easy to pull.

The harder you practice, the luckier you get.

interesting that you guys write this up. Gio and I went through Santana Row in April and it was mostly women. Many good looking women, at that. Gio did some cold approaches to the best looking girls there who were either alone or in pairs while we were walking up and down the street there.

yeah, i had good times in Los Gatos, I have a few friends that lived there. much better ratios, not so techy-vibe community out there. some random dive bars.

Also Palo Alto is nice near Stanford. there's a long street with lots of restaurants that's pretty upscale.

In SF, I enjoy the Marina district. There's a triangle of bars, i liked most of them...just hopped from place to place. there's an area called "the triangle"....bar there Balboa Club, swimming with milfs and the after work crowd.
