Feminists and MRAs are cut from the same cloth

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3-E_mRmjNM

Watching this video, it's impossible to have much respect for either feminists or MRAs. Just a back and forth of "all your concerns are bullshit, but listen to how bad I have it!", which is quite representative of the movements as a whole. Yet both groups somehow rev up their cognitive dissonance enough to convince themselves they're morally superior to their counterpart.

You know you're listening to someone with a victim complex when aggregate outcome discrepancies are cited as examples of societal oppression. Feminists, of course, are famously guilty of this when they bitch about the gender wage gap and lambast the tech industry for not hiring enough women, but how are MRAs any different? In the video, Dean cites men's higher incarceration rate as an example of how it's tough to be a man. Give me a break.

The game community, IMHO, should completely distance itself from the MRAs. They are professional victims just like feminists, and would almost assuredly be feminists if they were born female. They have no place alongside an ideology dedicated to helping men make the best of the hand they were dealt.

(Yes, I do realize that much of the lumping of game with MRA is done by feminists and the MSM.)

First off, statistics are poor motivators for people to change their mind on issues. Martin Luther King Jr. was at his most powerful when he was making exhorations relying on religious and moral convictions.

Second, while both MRA's and feminists want to be victims, you must differentiate between the claims made. The feminist in the video was citing illusory statistics on discrimination against women, while he was laying out legitimate complaints about how the system works.

However, notice how the debate is framed - feminists are treated as deciders of what the issues are and the tone in which it is supposed to be engaged in. The feminist professor finishes with "anti-feminist" rhetoric on social media. She is reinforcing the idea the feminists -- and feminists alone -- are the "experts" on women. The female reporter might not be a feminist, but she clearly sees feminists as protectors and Joan of Arc's for women.

Finally, is that the best suit Dean can come up with? Man, when you are going on TV, put on your best suit, trim your beard and get a good haircut. Presentation is very important. Further, he didn't make eye contact with her and was very rigid. He let her get away with treating him like a child (the candy metaphor??? He should have stomped out that shit) and by the end of it, she was looking at him like a wayward teenager.

The debate was set up to be lose-lose, but he made it lose-lose-lose for MRA's for his poor social comportment and inability to handle the reporters and the professor.

Got through about thirty seconds.

MRA: Fat dude who does no favours to the neckbeard stereotype.
Feminist: " I think that...uhh...to give feminism that much credit is..uhh..kind of crazy. I mean..uh..feminism has been..uh..."

MRA: "I have a gap tooth I can't afford to get fixed."

I chipped a tooth last weekend, it cost 44$ to get fixed. Don't blame women because you're too cheap to fix your smile.

Funny.. Eventually the female presenter losers her cool and starts giving her coworker a hard time.. Always funny when women can't keep their emotions under control..

Too bad the messenger for these important issues is a fat guy with a neckbeard who had too long of a tie

His appearance is a disgrace for someone who represents men and their needs. Neckbeard, 3 foot tie, out of shape, non existent eye contact. Just as feminists blame imaginary enemies because they are ugly old sluts and bulldykes this guy blames women and "system" for not adapting to him.

I'd "let it rip" by cutting a huge fart so I could get the fuck out of there.
