I couldn't get the URL to post the video. But follow the link to see it.

A Girl Is Threatened With Rape In A Rap Battle, And So The Judge Steps In To Deliver His Own Verse

http://www.upworthy.com/a-girl-is-threat...?c=reccon1

Set scene: A woman is on stage with her male opponent in an MC rap battle in London when all of a sudden the dude makes a rape threat. Not cool at all. The misogynistic dude tries to calm the crowd down as they look on in disgust. Then suddenly up pops visibly pissed-off BBC radio presenter Nihal, who decides to step in and rip into the rape-threat dude with his own, much better verse.

I want to be clear on two points before you watch it: 1) The young woman didn't need him to step in, but I'm appreciating this as a "see something, say something" moment, and it's great to see that others have her back in such a hostile environment. 2) The fat-shaming in his verse isn't cool either, and I wish that wasn't in there, but I still appreciate this moment of solidarity and outrage.

Woman lets white knight step in and save her in a setting in which she needed no saving. The big dude seems to chuckle it off...if you can totally derail the MC, the host and the audience in a rap battle. you sir have won completely...

The comments on the actual youtube video are good though, few supporters of what happened.

I'm glad that judge was there to protect the poor girl from those mean, nasty words said by that mean, nasty man. How dare he violate the stands and decorum of a rap battle like that.

Aren't rap battles supposed to be degrading and full of false threats? That woman knew what was going to happen from the onset - he makes a false threat and someone comes up to defend her. The guy was an idiot, he played right into her trap.

And why the hell did that white-knight come up to defend her? Its a rap battle, people are going to say shit. If you don't want to see someone get insulted or threatened, don't go to a rap battle. Also, he couldn't do anything but call him fat. So much for a successful defense.

Things like this make me realize why we have so many British forum members as well. At least in America, the PC activists have left street culture alone. In Britain, everything seems to be under the holy dominion of the PC Church.

Given the rapid feminizing/queering of Western militaries, this video of a "rap battle" serves as a useful predictive metaphor for what we can expect when women find themselves in real battles: their unsuitability to the task at hand will be immediately apparent, and white knights will emerge from the woodwork to save them, in the process abandoning the actual objectives of the battle/mission.

Imagine a future battle between some hardened Al Qaeda/ISIS types and an integrated platoon of women, genderqueer freaks and feminist white knights. I believe the swarthy Muslim fighters could win the day without firing a single shot. A few boom boxes playing some un-PC language on a loop would do the trick.

"We are going to rape you!"

"Women do not belong in the Army, go back to the kitchen!"

"Homosexuals and Transgender freaks are an affront to Allah and must be executed!"

The PC sensibilities of the women and queers would be so offended they would be unable to fight, and would each curl up into a ball, sobbing. The feminist white knights would then have to comfort them, of course, because feelings were hurt, and well, you just can't allow that in a modern army. What started as a combat force would quickly degrade into a mobile counseling unit.

Women in any type of battle alongside/against men: just say no.

I love how the writer just has to point out fat shaming.....in a rap battle!

That is like the most tame, classic shit you could burn someone on, outside of maybe their hair or clothes.

I don't even want to imagine what a PC approved rap battle would look like, hell, it probably wouldn't even get off the ground due to concerns about "cultural appropriation".

Not since women joined them. Now rap battles are about inclusiveness, diversity and education:

Yo yo yo person in front of me

Your momma / poppa/ or 2 people from the same sex is so unintelligent they didn't even graduate

You can't even spell complex words in the dictionary

You fricken bully

The sad part is that line was tame by most battle rap standards.

In battle rap that can only be considered offensive because of the terrible bar and delivery. The content was rather uninspired and bland, which makes it bad. Good luck finding a rap battle that doesn't have a mention of banging or defiling somebody's mom/sister/girlfriend. That's just how the game works.

Rap battles should be a prelude to an old fashioned revolver duel so that at least one shitheel gets removed from the gene pool.

Future PC culture rap battles like...

*beat drops*
Your shirt isn't my style, and I wouldn't wear it
But I don't mean to hurt your feelings, its your look, share it
Your parent or guardian is so d*rn fat
They should probably try weight watchers
It could help with that

I know this is a battle, but I'm gonna respect you
If its OK could we date, i would go out and protect you
But not make any moves, in your bitch shield no dent
I'll be your beta fr*cking superman, call me Clark kent.

So like, whats the appeal of a woman entering a display of masculine power if she has to be saved by masculine powers?

Exactly what I was thinking. His flow & delivery and talent was lame and nonexistent so the crowd, MC and everyone else was like "Wtf?! Call him out on that shit!"

If he had been on point everyone would have loved it and been like "BITCH YOU GOT SERVED!"

Exactly. Like in this battle, where he calls a girl a cunt, nobody jumped in and was like "HOW DARE YOU!" because it was done cleverly and was funny.

That video is weak and gay as hell. Their league is called dont flop, like an 8 mile movie reference? Jesus save them.

Look at the host's body language and antics. He mimics all of the gestures(like many other gangsta culture fanboys and girls), but hold none of the actual toughness or likely even understands the origins behind most of what they're copying. It's just another MTV fad to them. For the battle rap/gangsta hip hop culture to be engaging and provocative, you need some authenticity behind the antics.

The foreign fanboys would get hibachi'd if they came to popular rap battle spots in north america. It bothers me to see so much merit badge wearing instead of battle scars in tough guy circles. It's so watered down that you have hosts 'caping' for a dueling party=no street ethics present in that scene

Rap battles often showcase people graphically describing how they would murder each other. Every time someone says "run up on you with the 9," that's what the fuck they mean.

I don't think there's any place for people threatening each other in day-to-day life. That includes rape threats. I wouldn't walk up to a guy and threaten to stab him, and likewise, I would not walk up to a girl and threaten to rape her.

However, rap is a suspension of reality. It is a form of art that embraces threats of violence as a verbal manifestation of the strength or aggressiveness of the rapper. That's how it developed, and it's evident in the vast majority of rap songs and films starring rappers.

Then again, if the audience is booing at your performance, it means you probably sucked.
