I agree that you see some good talent online. Though you are unlikely to see the top 25% in total quality on there (including personality). But the same could be said of the US.

Online is great for pipelining. I recommend it to everyone that comes here, unless they have truly excellent game. While my results from direct approach have been slightly better than online, I have had many months to do those approaches. Obviously someone here for a week doesn't have that kind of time.

A plan for a week might go like this:

1. pipeline like mad starting at least 2-4 weeks before arrival.
2. when hitting up nightlife spots, get whatsapp of cool guys (during slow periods, and if you come across them)
3. over the next few days, casually hit up your new guy friends for intel on the next cool event/party,etc. At the very least, they can let you know which clubs are popping right now. You might get lucky and get invited to a house party. Rehearse a few excuses if you need to bail at any point (if its dead).

What web sites are the best for pipelining in DR, specifically Puerto Plata?

I said that most foreigners don't know Spanish in the DR. But looking back that's not quite true. It seemed like a lot of the Italians I came across spoke pretty good Spanish. A lot of the Haitians as well, but probably only because they need it to make money there. But, most of the Anglo people who go there don't speak Spanish. There are also many African Americans I noticed in the DR. I didn't meet any that spoke Spanish though. I would crack up when I'd eat out sometimes, because I'd see middle aged American guys on "dates" with girls that didn't speak English, and they'd communicate by a translater app on his cellphone throughout their whole dinner. Speaking Spanish puts you way ahead of the game. Do you really think a girl is going to choose a guy that has to communicate with her through a translator over you if you speak Spanish? Highly unlikely unless the guys 12" dick ejaculates $100 bills.

I disagree with this statement in some situations. I know a guy who did extremely well with no spanish, using his iphone. He looks dominican though, which helps. And he lives here. Being the bumbling foreigner is great, if you have a good backstory that isn't about coming here to bang chicks.

Yeah man, but that's one instance. How are you gonna seduce a girl if you can't talk to her? If you don't speak Spanish and the girl doesn't speak English, unless you look like Brad Pitt, chances are the girl is with you for a free ride. The guy I saw using his phone to translate to the girl, it looked painful for the girl.

^^ And if you can't speak what's the point?

Part of the fun is engaging the local girls when you are abroad in their own language.

From day 1 my friend has been racking up the notches here. Girls genuinely like him. His spanish is still awful after almost a year here.

I think a better question would be: why would a dominican girl disqualify a foreign guy who doesn't speak spanish but otherwise has more money and education than most dominican men? Plus, a room/apartment of his own. Plus, small chance for US visa. If you are not 85 years old the girls will genuinely enjoy the game of trying to communicate. Plus the fact is that the average dominican girl doesn't seem to like to have long conversations anyhow.

I'd say speaking spanish give you a slight edge, but not much if you have an internet connection and google translate. I wish I could say that the higher end girls want you to speak spanish, but the truth is that most of them speak english anyhow.

I'm proud that I speak spanish. It took work to learn it. But I have to face the fact that it only helps me in certain situations. And often I find myself wanting to downplay my spanish ability to open easily.

Wow, I came home last night and my roommate was dining with 2 very attractive young white dominican women. I think he is starting to find his crowd, working the social circle.

He rarely talks to girls who don't speak spanish. He will literally just walk away from a girl who doesn't speak english.

Here's what he's been doing:
- comment on girl's clothes, etc
- talk about fashion, projects he is working on, etc (he does this so well that I think he might be gay)
- invite them over for an upcoming "party" at our place

He will then hang out with the girl if she is available. He was scheduling like 2 parties a week at our place. But they tended to fail because he just doesn't know enough people yet, and is not that good at throwing parties, really.

Finally I think he is starting to realize that its easier to go to the girls' parties and events, and plug into their existing social circle.

He also does dinner parties with a few platonic friends and business partners weekly. I have to hand it to him, he doesn't give up. He is committed to learning how to be the socialite, even if he crashes and burns a few times.

Now if only he would stop borrowing my damn wine all the time....

Damn man, I'm missing the DR. The girls here suck and it's a small town, so day gaming isn't a very good option. Thing is, you can't approach like a machine here or you'll look like a "creep." It's a small town and people talk. The quality just isn't there either. After spending a few weeks in the DR and Cuba, it's hard to even be motivated here. Last night I approached the best looking girl in the bar and number closed her, but even though she was probably the best looking at the bar, she's still only a 6.

Kava, you said the average Dominican girl doesn't like having long conversations. I'd say that's true via messages/whatsapp. It's nice and frustrating at the same time. It's nice when you have a girl that you want to keep in touch with, but not be on the phone with all the time. It can be annoying when asking something you want to know the answer to, such as let's meet up tomorrow or something like that. I remember one of my transactions with a girl online. She took forever to respond to my messages, then I finally get her to agree to go out, have most everything set up, but then when I ask her when she wants to meet up, she just stops responding. I only found this to be the case over message or whatsapp though. It's the same thing with the girl I met out there. She doesn't engage much in whatsapp, but when we talk on Skype, I can't get her off. Before I know it we've been talking for 2 or 3 hours.

Another funny thing to add to that. I'm still getting responses from messages I sent a month ago. A girl just messaged me in the market, I looked back to when I messaged her and it was May 24 and this was her first time responding to me.

Yeah, all over Santo Domingo. Even from Santo Domingo to Juan Dolio (a beach 30-45 minutes from Santo Domingo). That girl I met out there had a car and let me drive it around. I was hesitant at first, but after the first time, I wanted to keep driving. It was kind of a rush. They drive like shit but it's not as bad as Colombia or Brazil. I rented scooters too and had no problem. Those scooters out there get up to 70!

Good luck my friend. I've been enough shit in my life to know easy ways to put yourself in a critical mass type scenario and renting/driving around that place is definitely one of them

The rental places try to scam you. The people on the road try to scam you with fake accidents etc. Even "the driver" wont drive that road from Santo to the North coast at night alone. Santo Domingo is a 24/7 road hazard.

I'm not saying I'm scared but would rather relax drink some beers and enjoy the scenery.

Yeah, it's definitely not the safest place to drive. I'll take my chances though. I'll end up just renting a car a couple days to do things like go to beach or explore other areas. When I meet up with the girl from last time I won't need to worry about renting. When we rented out scooters I was a little worried about them trying to scam us, but we rented from two different places and everything went smooth. My friend even laid his scooter down, but it wasn't bad.

Last time I drove the highway east towards Punta Cana (and the airport) at night. It was pretty dangerous. Everyone drives with their brights on and don't turn them off to oncoming traffic and there are a ton of motorcyclists without lights. When I started driving the girl told me to put my brights on, so I did. When I turned them off for oncoming traffic she didn't understand why I did it and said that on the highway everyone keeps then on at all times.

Ha! No I wish! I think I'm gonna go before I move back to Florida if my chips are stacked right. I'm thinking if I have a job lined up in MIA, and $3-4k stacked for the move I should be good. An addition $2k for the trip puts me at $6k to save in the next 4 months. I think it should be doable. I have the opprotunity to work 3 jobs this summer. I may end up only working 2 because I'm not sure how the money will be at the 3rd.

Looking back, one thing that disappointed me with Dominican girls is most of them have weave. I figured before I went there that they would have good natural hair since most of them are mixed. The girl I was with was a light skinned black girl, yet she still had weave. I know they can't help it, so I don't hold it too much against them, I just prefer natural hair. It sucks banging a chick and running your hands through her hair and feeling her weave. BUT, I think I still prefer weave over short or bad hair.

I got tired of cab drivers, plus I was talking to some girls in Los Alcarrizos and a poorer part of SD Este near Duarte, so I rented one from Thrifty downtown and dropped it off at Las Americas. Cost over $40 a day, plus they up charged me $35 to drop off at the airport when I got there.

Take lots of pictures and make sure all the dings/dents are marked. Also, get tinted windows. I bought a new pair of shoes while I was in SD, and gave my old pair to the guy checking my car for new dings, so he just gave me a go.

Driving a rental is different than driving a local's car, because there's a big ass sticker on the windshield that says Rental Car. This got me pulled over when I had to take off my seatbelt to push back out my mirror. Cops tried to demand 2000 pesos, threatened two days in jail and wanted me to drive to an ATM to get money. Even wrote it down on his phone and shit. I kept saying 500, pretended I didn't know Spanish.

I figured even if it was a dos mil fine, they wanted the money rather than me paying at the station, plus the bad publicity of arresting a tourist for something that stupid. After a lot of arguing, they accepted my offer. Had they not taken my paperwork first thing, I would have had more leverage to negotiate down.

So yeah, it's not necessarily a good idea to rent a car, but I'll do it again next time I go.

Shit man, that sucks. You're making me think twice about it. It just seems like you can make stuff work so much faster with a car. For example, one of the girls I was talking to when I was there lived 45 minutes from ZC. I told her to hit me up if she made it to my part of town. She finally did but I was already gone. The chick was a 19 year old smoke show. As good looking if not better than the one I hung out with while I was there. Plus you have easy access to cool spots like Juan Dolio (the beaches), which would be an expensive cab ride or a long ass bus drive.

Great write up on DR man! Ive been to DR a couple of times (Mainly Santo Domingo) and I second pipelining on tagged.com. The girls on that site seem willing and ready to meet you at a moments notice.

The crazy part about pipelining on those dating sites it seems that as soon as I step foot off the airplane and Im on Dominican soil, I forget about a good number the girls I met online because its nothing but beauty, booty, "badness" everywhere you turn around. Its when Im about to head home I say to my wingman, "Man I forgot to hit up (insert Dominicana's name here) Lol
