Usually get between 3-5 a night, if I need it I will then have a power nap of 15/20 minutes in the afternoon.

I am a great believer in sleeping as much as your body wants.

I credit this with looking a very young 32 (given that my lifestyle choices have often been somewhat counterproductive).

Regularly sleep 7-11 hours depending upon how tired I am; not averse to a catnap during the daytime either.

i remember reading neil strauss' the game like a decade ago. he experimented with micro sleep, like 20 minutes every couple hours or something, for 24/7. apparently if timed correctly it works.

i think there are more normal ways, like sleep for 4 hours then half an hour every 4 hours throughout the day. i'd be interested in learning more about that. i read one article a long time ago, wouldn't be able to find it again.

Might have been Steve Pavlina's article:

^ Nah, Strauss covered it in "the game" too. It was a point of interest for the pua community for a time. They were pretty heavily-focused on self-improvement.

I think a lot of PUA guys were following Pavlina for a while too, before he went off the deep end, so he may have been the inspiration.

Sleep - How much do you get?

I used to sleep VERY little and drink a ton. Even during the week I would often function at work on 2hrs of sleep and still be either extremely hung over or even drunk from the night before.

One of the reasons for chilling out is that even on off days I was noticing a distinct lack of cognitive ability. Memory and speech patterns were severely impacted. Basically my off days had me feeling "fuzzy".

I'm so much more about maintaining control (in this case over myself) that I make sure I get rest and only drink till a mild to moderate buzz and never drunk.

The problem I have with trying to slip in short sessions of sleep is that I would be very concerned about that fucking with your bodies metabolism.

Quality of sleep is better if I go to bed around 10 pm until 4 or 6 am. If I go to bed after 12 pm, I sleep 12 hours straight if not interrupted.

about 7 hours and 30 minutes every night, but it all depends on the day and what I'm doing that night. Read somewhere to sleep in 90 minute intervals, it works I wake up feeling more refreshed.

The rewards I see from working is what made me an addict.
There's way more people that want it than people that have it.

Sleep - How much do you get?

Depends on time of year. If school is in session, I hover around 5-6 hours/weeknight and then 9-13 on the weekends, depending on how run down I am come Friday. Right now my circadian rhythms are in tune with this internship and I'm regularly falling asleep by 9 every night and waking up at 4:30 each morning. So 7-8 hours per night, which holds steady on the weekends.

Weirdly enough, it's when I go on vacation that my sleep patterns get all fucked up and I end up staying awake until 3 or 4 in the morning, only my body wakes up by 8-9 am so by the time I get back home I'm shorter on sleep than when I left and more out of whack.

I get around 6 1/2 to 7 hours. I always aim for 9 but fail 99% of the time.

I find that to get to bed early I have to be uber-ruthles with my bed time: cut off conversations, stop work in mid flow, no time for flossing "sorry guys its my bed time."
