Spin Class

Hey guys,

When it comes to cardio, I usually run, but I'm looking to find another outlet of activity and I didn't see a thread dedicated to spinning. I know people who take spin classes and I haven't heard anything bad; it's a good way to burn calories, and every now and then, some top-notch women ride.

I wanted to know if any of you have experience taking a couple spin classes a week and the mental/physical effects they have had on you (stress, weight loss, etc.).

Personally, I am looking to shed about 10 more pounds, and spinning seems like a fun and consistent way to stay healthy.

I have to walk past spin classes almost every time I lift. Great ratios and it's a university gym so the quality is pretty good.

The sight of those spin classes + the testosterone release from compound lifts = powerful post workout boners

I don't take spin classes, but cycle daily and do sprint training. There are a number of cycling clubs in my area with women participating and it's actually easier to approach them in a cycling club than in a spin class. I've found that cycling has worked great for me and is far easier on the joints than running. I cycle about 10 miles a day and have done so for over 10 years now, I'm 6'2 @ 180 lbs....I'll be 60 next January.

Congrats lovejoy on being healthy at your age! Hard to find people like you nowadays.

I would recommend buying a bike and hitting a trial instead. You get to see "scenic places" and practice in real-world conditions instead of being inside four walls.

On the other hand, spinning brings a lot of hot bishes dressed in lululemon.

Try giving both a try, cycling gives your variety and can be done 24/7 while spinning gives you better "perfect setting" training.

Thanks for the input, guys. Lovejoy, you're a beast; that's inspiring.

I will take a spin class and report how I like it!

A word of advice: If you're in a big metropolitan area be careful, drivers can be ruthless on the roads and you're at risk hurting yourself. Know a bunch of guys who got hit by cars at some point in their outdoor cycling career.

Look for paved bike paths in the city, there are often ones and if you go early there's nobody around. Or go out to the country where asshole drivers don't drive.

I now cycle, but started with spin class. Spin class is hardcore. It will definately cause you to loose AT LEAST 10lbs. 2 times weekly should do it.

Do it.

They're fun, as far as cardio goes, there's usually some hot ladies in the classes and their shorts start getting see-thru when the sweating kicks in.

Nothing makes cardio more pleasant than a hot chick in see-thru spandex shorts waving her ass back and forth right in front of you while she peddles away. Much better than some fat ass walrus stomping around on the treadmill next to you.

Easy to spit game afterwards too. Do you do this often? I was trying to keep up with you. What are the best classes or instructors? Can you show me some good stretches as this workout taxed my legs and you look like you know what you're doing.

Damn easy, especially if you've got a good body and worked hard in class. Women love a guy pushing it hard when exercising. Gives them a window into what you're like in bed.

Great for fat loss too. It's intervals. Jacks up your heart rate, recover, rinse and repeat. Also works the core. Far better than running if your goal is bringing out your abs.

It's great, awesome ratios for hot girls and cardio like motherfucker.

One time I was at the gym and I saw a hot female friend of mine barely walking out of it. I told her to quit acting like she just climbed Mt. Everest. She smirked and told me "alright Simon, you are so macho, you should try it",

I got on that bike in a class full of 8's and 9's and started peddling for my life (most girls were going great). I ended up almost quitting twice, but my ego didn't allow it. Got off the bike, covered in sweat from head to toe, and walking like my legs were made out of jello. My friend laughing at the end, "easy huh?" when one of the hot ass 8's approached her and said I did a great job (got her number and dated her for a while).

Totally recommended, great after lifting.

Life is good

Sprint training on a rowing machine is even better for all round cardio and body workout...but it has to be the loneliest section of the gym.

Ha if I could be assured I'd have a honey seated in front of me with her ass dangling there, I might give spinning a crack. The one time I walked into a fitness class I walked right out, because it was some harridan barking commands on a loudspeaker - ain't no amount of sweet ass that can compensate for that. I've done yoga though occasionally, same principle [Image: smile.gif].

Spinning I've noticed has girls with some of the hottest faces - overachieving skinny white girls love it. Yoga girls have far better asses and thighs though, unless you prefer stick figure women.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I'm currently looking into prices at a local gym. Of course, a full membership would be worth it. I'm just a college student working a couple jobs figuring out how I'm going to budget my money. But a gym membership + unlimited classes for less than $40/month with a $99 initiation fee sounds like a good deal.

I like the idea of hot, thin women in spandex. Must pursue.
