Renting to a MMJ growhouse- CA

I've been following along w/the Colorado stuff on industrial warehouse being converted to growhouses.

Its not unconceivable to buy a warehouse for 300-500k and rent it out to these guys for 100k/year. Often this includes a buy-out clause at the 3 or 5 year mark (at least for Colorado).

Whats your guys thoughts on this? Any potential legal problems for CA?

I just can't wrap my head around the legality/logistics of it. Keep in mind, this is for industrial warehouse properties and not houses.

A lot of counties in California have sent out threats to landlords of buildings which were rented to state legal and tax paying medical marijuana dispensaries threatening to cease the property if they do not evict the tenants within 30 days

Sacramento did this and shut down basically all dispensaries.

Colorado might not pull this shit since it's legal there, but I think it's a pretty volatile business to be in from a legal perspective.

That said, because it's so new and volatile, probably a lot of money to be made.
