I need to get hold of an extra wide bar for my door frame which is at least 55".
I tried googling, but can't find anything.
It's got to connect at one side of the door frame to the opposite.

buy a doorway bar. it's 36 in wide for normal doors. get pipe from HD that would fit snugly over the ends that jam against the opposite side. done

Take $20 to Home Depot. Buy a pipe and some brackets for it. Wrap in athletic tape.

How much weight can these things actually take?
There is so much shitty construction over here. I can see myself destroying something.

Lol, destroying property should be the least of your worries.
I did a long set once and thought I could get one more rep with a little bit of a kip.
The bar dislodged on the way up and the rest is still a blur...
