Vice: ALEKSANDR DUGIN WANTS TO SEE A RETURN TO RUSSIAN IMPERIALISM

“We will have a new Cold War,” said Dugin when I spoke to him over the phone. “But maybe not so cold—maybe hot this time.”

Quote:Quote:

While Western pundits denounce Moscow’s actions in Ukraine, it’s clear that there is some support for Putin in the former Soviet state. The latest figures show overwhelming opposition to Russian military intervention throughout most of the country, but those polled in eastern Ukraine—where pro-Russian forces have been seizing official buildings and holding journalists and military observers captive—are notably less opposed to the presence of Russian troops on Ukrainian soil.

Is Russia's movement away from the western economic system going to force America to finally push aside the social liberal agenda of the past 50 years and into a more militaristic and patriarchal society?

Maybe having a true military rival again will force American men to man up. A true rival is the greatest gift America can receive at this point.

The $682 billion spent by the U.S. in 2012, according to the Office of Management and Budget, was more than the combined military spending of China, Russia, the United Kingdom, Japan, France, Saudi Arabia, India, Germany, Italy and Brazil — which spent $652 billion, according to the SIPRI Military Expenditure Database.

First of all , The "Ukrainians" in the east of Ukraine are ethically Russian. They speak Russian, their parents are Russian, they listen to Russian radio and watch Russian tv. Hence why they are "less opposed" to Putin taking them back under his wing.

Secondly, Rex, how accurate are those numbers? Like why would Russia fully disclose how much it spends on it's Military?

Don't know for sure but even if they were off by 50% for Russia, it's still dwarfed.

But regarding the OP's question, I don't think so because the US relies on a more technology-based approach to warfare over putting many boots on the ground and I don't foresee a large land war with Russia.

Generally, the US doesn't have a draft and the government doesn't want a draft army. A smaller volunteer/professional/mercenary army provides more flexibility to act without creating a large anti-war movement. The physical burden of fighting wars falls on only a small portion of the population.

A little OT here. Wrong, not all the russian speakers in east Ukraine are ethnic russians, i have family that can barely speak ukranian, but they are not russian. Heck, IIRC, the biggest concentration of "ethnic russians" was Crimea. West Ukraine got a lot of inmigration during the Imperial and Soviet times, from all over the euro-asian zone.

Now back on-topic.

"War is the health of the state."

The last thing the USA needs is a major military confrontation. As if there isn't enough surveillance, paranoia and control already, we have to dig up Joe McCarthy and Curtis LeMay? We are also broke.

Odd that OP has "Kerouac" as his handle and Cheech as an avatar, a wish for a less liberal and more "more militaristic and patriarchal society" seems to be at odds with Jack Kerouac and "Cheech" Marin.

Do slim girls cause fat women to "woman up"?

Of course not. They just rationalize it away.

As long as US doesn't fight on Russian soil they would obliterate the Russians in a conventional war.

None of these news sources are reliable anyway.

US military spending isn't what it is IMO. How many contractors create vast contracts and vacuum up the proceeds?

Not every dollar is invested right.

I would say China has a good conversion for investment and output seeing as they are copying everything.

There have been plenty of opportunities for Americans, and permanent residents of the USA to fight over the last 10 years, which are continuing in Afghanistan and other places.

Have you taken those opportunities? PM me if you want enlistment or commissioning advice. I would not want you to "lose your manliness."

Remember this.

When the biggest concern in your life is deciding between a machiatto and an americano at your local starbucks, you have lost your last shred of masculinity.

I'm an American, I love Putin. Fuck, im probably on some watch list now for that statement. I respect Putin. Because he is a man.

I don't think you're quite getting the point. Comparing Afghanistan/Iraq to a Cold War situation is like comparing apples to oranges.

No one is saying we need another war. The point here is that having an actual competitor is what America needs.

I've been in a Cold War and I've been in a Hot War. A Cold War is doing maintenance, inspections and exercises and waiting around for something to happen. Plus, spending a lot of tax money on hardware.

A Hot War is throwing yourself on the ground and shitting yourself while rockets or mortars fall around you or having someone fire automatic weapons in your direction.

There is no comparison. I beg you, get some experience in these matters for the sake of your sense and manhood.

Why do you do it?

Last time I checked, there is no required military service in the United States.

Relavent article: The Secret American Subculture of Putin-Worshippers

I think Jack Donovan pretty much summed up the sentiment you've expressed in article for Radix Journal:

Quote:Quote:

There is a parallel with what has been called “The Secret American Subculture of Putin Worshippers.” American men are no longer proud of their own leaders. Like those emasculated husbands who fantasize about watching other men pile-drive their wives, men see Putin as the kind of swaggering stud who could step forward, put a firm hand on America’s waist, and COMMAND her. Putin is the kind of thoroughly corrupt leader American men could actually be proud of (instead of the thoroughly corrupt leaders they actually have).
