Very Lucrative Hustle..Though Probably More Difficult These Days

Okay, so years ago I worked for a company who did signups for credit cards. You know how you go to a sporting event or concert and if you sign up for a credit card you get a logo blanket or mp3 player or some junk like that.

I used to work for a company where we did CC signups. I would get paid anywhere from $3 per signup to $15 per signup depending on the client, obviosly my boss made more than that and I got a cut so I'm guessing the cc companies pay anywhere from $5 to $25.

I would go to sporting events, concerts, or sometimes just go to a store like Kmart and do signup for their store cards by the entrance. We'd always have some crap prizes we would give away for signing up or in stores they'd often get like 30% off their purchases that day and a prize.

There were days at some sporting events and better settings where I could do 100-150 cards per day and was making pretty good money. I bring this up because A. its very lucrative and B. I think guys on here would have alot of success since most people aren't signing up for the crap prize they are singing up cuz of your personality, you sold them. I'd even sometimes have people ask do you get something for me signing up and I'd say yeah and they'd be like okay fine I'll sign up. Flirt with women, make friendly conversation with dudes.

A few years later at college there were some guys doing this basically traveled from school to school doing this. Their smart idea imho was they would recruit students to do it for them so they get a bunch of students to go sign up all their classmates. I think we got like a buck a signup but when your in college and broke and $4 will get you wasted that night you'll go signup a few buddies. I imagine these guys were making $10-$20 per signup and had dozens of kids running around doing their work for them and handing out stupid little prizes like coozies or funny tshirts. Basically give away a prize that costs a quarter and make a few bucks up to like $20 bucks per signup.

Now I never learned how to actually get these contracts with the credit card companies and also I imagine it would be difficult to do in this day and age because of people so concerned about identity theft and not wanting to give socials as well as people having a better understanding of how too many cards or inquiries negatively affect your credit. That said I think it could still be successful at colleges and maybe even concert venues geared towards younger people.

Like I said I dont have any info to share as far as how to get hooked up with these gigs but I think this is a hustle not many people know about so thought I would share it with you guys. I made some good money doing this as the guy doing the signups so I know my bosses were making a cut of everythign I did as well as what my cowoerkers did.

Yeah i was doing this job back in 2001 or so obviously internet was around but not our entire lives like it is today so i giess it makes sense affiliate marketing is the new cc signup. Theres the points guy and lots of others who operate blogs and forums and have affiliate orograms to capitalise on their readers signups.

That said its completely different from the scenario i laid out and i used to do. As stupid as a 25 cent shirt with a pic of a monkey huffing either is some stoner on campus will sign uo for a cc in a second on an impulsem also i do affiliate marketing myself on my blogs but what i enjoyed about doing it in person was interacting with people flirting with women joking with people etc. We used to have all these stupid lil strategies or gimmicks wed do. Sometimes id tap my clipboard on the ground behind a women and tell them they dropped something snd then strike up a convo.

Affiliate marketing is def the new version of this amd in person would b a challenge in this day and age but i think theres more an impulse signup when u and them are there and u have suk stupid prize they or their kod wants. As far as online im rrally gonna shop around compare cards and only gonna sign up if i need a card. Also even cc signups in my experience are pretty low paying in my experience
