Trailer Parks

Interesting business idea? :

With more of the U.S. middle class sliding into poverty and many towns banning new trailer parks, enterprising owners are getting rich renting the concrete pads and surrounding dirt on which residents park their homes.

“The greatest part of the business is that we go to sleep at night not ever worrying about demand for our product,” Weissman, 34, says. “It’s the best decision I’ve ever made.”

Jaffa paid $485,000 for the park, including back taxes, and made $250,000 in improvements. The owners expect to earn $150,000 in 2014 -- and the place is only 40 percent full.

Yup. Solid business idea. High growth rate and so far not too much competition.

Tent Cities - improved Camping Sites might be an idea too, as well as redesigned Container cities that they are starting to put up in the Western World.

As more and more people will only have social security left to live off this will be growing. Depressing, but good.

Interesting article. In some of the snowbird areas AZ, Florida ,etc they are starting to do higher end trailer parks.

I'm interested in simplifying my life, micro living, smaller living spaces. A trailer park actually is somewhat appealing except like the article says there's definately a stigma to it, just the look of them is oftentimes depressing and rundown looking.

I wonder if one could try to redefine the trailer park by still keeping prices lower than apts and traditional housing while still high enough to keep out the rifraf, or maybe do it more as a co-op where there's an approval process for residents.

BTW - the article is also quite telling - another Hedge Fund manager left his job to start a better pawn shop.

You know that shit is hitting the fan when High-paid-executives are leaving their jobs to start Decline-Jobs that cater to the impoverished and the financially challanged - Pawn Shops, Marihuana Shops (where legal), Trailer Parks and a lot more foreclosure and bankrupcy related industries. Those are the new growth-industries in the US. The rest of the Western world is not far behind.

If you want a positive business then move to China and open an American Burger restaurant in one of the smaller cities with 3 mio. inhabitants.

Storage facilities are another big one. A few years back i think they were still fairly cheao but now the larger companies are startling to gobble uo all the indeoendent ones so i dont think its a very affordable business to get into anynore. I was surorised to hear that public storage is the largest landlord in the country

Trailer Parks

There was a high end trailer park near a gym I used to go to in my home town.

Probably the easiest way to make a lot of money really fast. Some of these trailer parks look really nice.

Tying this into game (why not?) I found there are a lot of super hot teenage girls growing up in my nearby mobile home community.

There is a trailer park across the way from a Food Lion about five miles from where I live and a lot of the teenage girls from the mobile home community work there. All of 'em are babes, but the wall seems to come pretty soon, what with tattoos, babies, etc.

I'm too old for this crowd now, sad to say, and their moms are too gross from me, judging by every women I've ever seen in that store over age 30.

But if any of you guys want to engage in trailer park game, I'd encourage it. These girls are super nice and have sort of a beaten-down persona -- the antithesis of the "too much self-esteem" syndrome we see amongst middle class girls.
