Why is America so creepy about age?

Why is America so creepy about age?

I was in American Eagle buying clothes today and when I checked out had a fun lighthearted conversation with the cashier girl...I think she was in high school. Then I signed up for their rewards card and she needed my birthdate including the year. Her smile went away after I told her. It got kind of quiet after that... [Image: suspicious.gif]

If only you knew how bad things really are.

It might sound overly clichéd, but I'm gonna say it.

"Age is just a number."

If you keep thin, in shape, and maintain your looks/appearance, then you're not a creepy old guy.
If you get fat, wrinkly, and ugly, then you are (unfortunately).

Invest in maintaining your appearance.

Why is America so creepy about age?

When I was in HS I dated a girl who was younger than me. I said something about it like, I don't want your parents to think I'm some creep. She's like, nah, my mom said it's cool, when she was a freshman in hs she dated this senior who had a motorcycle.

God bless.

Age definately is an issue but not a creepy issue. I dated a women about 10 years older than me for a while. Started out as just for fun for a few weeks and kinda dragged on but she was cool, not at all needy maybe kciked it with her once or twice a week but could go by her place anytime I wanted if I wanted to swing by after the bar or something, was very giving always cooking, would ask me if I wanted a blowjob so often I wound up oftentimes turning them down, just overall a cool chick. Age was an issue when it came to hanging out with friends, most people her age weren't my cup of tea and vice versa. It's not a huge deal but same way many issues can complicate a relationship be it differnet faiths, different cultures, dif colors, etc age can make things more complicated as well. Just that your in different stages of your life. I agree it's American women who have made it creepy, there's nothing creepy about it but it does make things more complicated whether its older women with younger man or younger women with older man.

So, it's only the bitter older women who have a problem.

I think peer pressure is a BIG factor.

I was sitting at a coffee shop the other day, working on my laptop, and two single girls in their early/mid 20s, sitting next to me were talking about their potential dates etc. One girl, I think she was 24 was talking about the "old guy" she liked. I think he was in his early 40s. They were on their phones the whole time looking at facebook pictures and commenting on the guys. She said something like, "Oh let me show you a picture of that old guy I am in love with." Her friend, was absolutely adamant that this girl should not go anywhere near this "old guy". She immediately shut her down, "Just no, don't do it. You need a guy that is 30 yrs old max." Her friend was aghast that the other girl would be considering anything with this "old guy". Oh, and to add to the story, even the friend who was absolutely against this "old guy" agreed that he was good looking when shown the picture, but that didn't change her objections.

For perspective, this is in Toronto btw.

This is why I always lie to girls about my age. Even if she's cool with my age, I know most of her "friends" will not be. Always go with an age closer to a woman's age for maximum success.

If she ever finds out, you can just explain how you were trying to avoid the unfair stigma placed upon older men dating younger women in America.

You can compare it how gays were unfairly stigmatized about their sexual habits.

A better metaphor would be lightskinned black people in the Old South. "There was so much discrimination, nobody could judge those that decided to 'pass' ".

If you stay in shape and look good, you can "pass", no need to be a martyr to someone elses bigotry.

American women hate hate hate men dating women more than a couple years younger than them. I've seen them talk about it. They label these men as immature. It all boils down to jealousy and the mission to create a gender-neutral society.
