What to do when you're burned out?

When I burned out at my job, I stopped trying, started manipulating my numbers, and spent most of my last two months drawing pictures, reading books, working on my flexibility, pushups, posting here more often, reading a ton of cracked and the onion.

The week before I quit, I started opening nsfw web pages on my computer and tested to see if anyone was even monitoring our browsing. I watched the video where the news casters dick is shown on tv on my work cpu, googled i age a few nipple slips, searched for Brittney spears' upskirt photo of her snatch. Noone said a word!

Ah, so you took the vacation and told the Irish midget to fuck himself? Someone should have youtube'd his facial expression. When one is bored and unmotivated, work seems dull and soul-sucking.

What are your plans now? If you're good at game, you'll be good at sales too. Game IS sales.

¿Qué paso con la colombiana en tu trabajo?

Just saw this.

The Irish midget was 4 months ago and I took another job after. No midget but I was still concerned enough to put in another 2 week notice last week. That's in another thread somewhere.

My plans are to take like 2 - 3 months to travel and meet some other players.

Then, I'll likely get into recruiting (aka pimping jobs). That will require game which I plan on getting better at during this time.

I had to put the Colombiana part into 'google translate.' I spent some time with her but she's got that rationalization hamster spinning with her getting married soon (don't know how to kill it). Maybe I'll post in another thread.

Looking forward to your data sheet brother!

What to do when you're burned out?

FUCK!

I was going to update this thread whenever I quit my job a month ago, literally.

They kept asking me to stay and offered a week vacations on the company's dime. I refused since I hated the job and got tired of the corporate red tape (do this and get bitched at, do the opposite and get bitched at too!). Not to mention that some of my shenanigans was about to catch up to me.

In the meanwhile I started working out, I went from 148 to 163 while my body fat went from 19% to 14%. I have 4 cougars in rotation in addition to 3 more in the pipeline. My time is becoming stretched to the point that I can to cancel dates/bangs to add another MILF in.....and while on a date/bang, my main cougar is trying to contact me. I have not learned any languages or programming as planned but I have read WallStreetPlayboy's book recommendations. Unfortunately, I do not know how the fuck I spent 6K in one month, I will have to be very cautious with my money from now on.

So I went to collect my paycheck two weeks ago, they offered me my job back. Sensing that I wasted 60% of my savings in a month, I said "sure I'll come back" in order to get back on my feet financially. The job is 15 minutes away, average of 55 hours a week (70 hrs/week in december) and I was on track to making 75K this year.....first job and without any experience.

My manager spoke to corporate. I went today to collect another check and after some small chat he told me "Honestly, get another job man. I wouldn't come back if I were you. Corporate wants you served on a platter, they're going to burn you out on purpose."

Fuck! I was making plans already, financially and calendar wise. Normally I would brush the words off, however the dude is a hardened Marine.....if he's telling me that he wouldn't come back....he's telling me something. Unfortunately I was not able to ask details as people were around but there are a lot of changes going on and upper management (corporate VPs) was in the office all day Monday.

I want to go back, the worse that can happen is getting fired and collecting unemployment. Then again, I hate the job and industry but love the money. Not that I care a lot about the money since I'm a minimalist, but coming from a family who made 40K to making 75K by myself inspires me. Also, the group I work with is awesome....my department is all guys who are not PC, while we have hot girls on other departments nearby.

I'm drunk and have no idea what I really want.

Money to inflate my ego or go in another direction but be happy. Actually, I got drunk to think about what I want.

Game is the difference between a broke average looking dude in a 2nd tier city turning bad bitch feminists into maids and fucktoys and a well to do lawyer with 50x the dough taking 3 dates to bang broads in philly.

I've noticed that my ego is very destructive.

Especially when it comes to holding relationships....everything goes well but I always want to have everything even if it means holding things by the string.

^^^ Haha dude you are a mess. You should at least negotiate a considerable pay rise if you are going back to a job you hate.

PM me for accommodation options in Bangkok.

What to do when you're burned out?

Yesterday, I was feeling the same way, had an idea about rewriting my resume addressed TO MYSELF to help figure some things out and a random song popped up on the radio with the lyric "why don't you take a good look at yourself and describe what you see (and baby do you like it)?"

You're self-aware and want to improve, and that puts you above 99.9% of everyone else. You'll figure it out.

Take time off. I always thought I could keep going. Boy was I wrong.

I grew up with massive health problems. Though I did come from a fairly affluent family looking back now. I really didn't know how lucky I had it. In the health problems lead me through a studder, horrid social skills, and many other things. After a long arduous journey fixing my health, your body CAN take a lot, but there's a point you have to let yourself recover or you will forever feel the pain.

I was forced to take a semester off and change schools. Made me feel like shit but I'm still going.

I got a great gig. Currently a petroleum engineering student and looking to head into oil. Got a position as a floorman through a friend for the summer. Two days on the rig I got anxiety and was told to be checked out. Their doctor didn't approve me and I feel like shit.

If your body is telling you to slow down do it, otherwise shit may start to kill you.

Here's a question for the RVF Crew: What do y'all do when burned out?

Go on vacation? Party like an animal? Hibernate?

Feel free to share your thoughts. I'll post my personal situation below:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems like I'm finally burned out at my job after 5 months, it's not the 80 hour weeks...rather the constant red tape, unrealistic expectations, and throwing under the bus from managers/corporate. It's mainly the pressure and not being able to fix the issue because "we're going to lose money"....only to get bitched at for "not fixing the issue". Not to mention the whole management team at my branch has left or is about to leave (2 quit, 2 got promoted).

My plan was to stay there for two months until summer arrives and then quit so it won't look bad on my resume. However I've been messing up and forgetting simple things. The good thing is that I was able to keep almost everything hidden from management, but I know I can't hide stuff forever. My goal is to coast through the day for a month but even that is not manageable, in other words...I hate my job and I'm burned out.

Considering I saved a few grand and my necessary (phone+gas+internet) monthly expenses are around $250 I'm not worried about money. My plan is to work until the end of april at the latest, quit, go out and have time for myself. Hit the gym, go mountain biking, start learning web design, look for job, or grow my small side business (1300/month).

One way to avoid feeling burned out is to expat permanently. The only time I ever felt "burned out" in life was when I was in America.
