That was a fast, clean hook right on the button. He knew how to box. Can't blame the dude, he told the guy 4x to back the fuck up and the prankster didn't budge.

I'm not sure he did know how to box. I've watched that punch a few times, and whilst it was exquisite, I'm not sure how he generated the power because it was an 'arm punch' rather than a proper full-bodied shot. But it did the trick! It connected perfectly. A thing of beauty haha.

On a side note, I think it's a sign of the YouTube generation that we've got kids like this getting punched and having a cut up mouth just to attention whore. It's sad and I think it's pathetic to be honest.

Not exactly a step backward, but you'd have to move your right leg backwards a bit to plant it for leverage. In boxing you're already in this stance but in the street you need to change your positioning. Unless you're content just throwing an arm punch which is what this guy in the video did, and it worked rather well!

They're all the same: Tom Green, Sacha Baron Cohen, Vitaly, and now this little shit.

Tom Green, Vitaly and other Youtube whores are bush league. I can't lump Sacha Baron Cohen in with those amateurs.

He's a brilliant satirist. Sure, he takes cheap shots on occasion but the way he sets up feminists, nazis, Christians, anti-porn folks and other whackjobs is simply artful.

He plays stupid and gets out of the way so they can make themselves look like fools. Usually with the result that the interviewee is exposed as egotistical, self-indulgent and full of shit.

To wit:

I know that my opinions about Cohen may come across as the bile of a jealous hater. But I don't think that's my primary motivation. I also recognize that tastes in comedy will run differently for different people.

But there's something about this guy that rubs me the wrong way.

It starts with the fact that (according to what I've read) he is a very educated and intelligent dude, and attended some of England's best educational institutions. I've also heard he's devoutly religious.

With that type of background comes some degree of responsibility. To see him mincing around in his fake Ali G persona is uncomfortable to watch. First of all, he's an Englishman trying to imitate American ghetto culture, which right away smacks of fakery. The fake clothes, fake accent, fake everything. It's off-putting, and shows he's all about the cheap thrill. No sincerity, no honesty. Just craft and guile, and a willingness to exploit the baser instincts. All his schtick is the same.

Nothing wrong with intelligent guys acting like idiots. I love Monty Python and Woody Allen's stuff, because it was sincere. Even Dave Chapelle's skits were great because they tempered their edge with some self-deprecating honesty. They weren't trying to perpetrate some fraud. It was just wacky, off-the-wall stuff. Even Patrice O'Neal, the patron saint of RVF: it's all about the pain, it's all about honesty and sincerity.

But Cohen is an exploiter and an opportunist. Watching him do his fake ghetto act is like watching a minstrel show.

I know I'm in the minority on this one. And maybe I'm wrong about this guy, but where some see an innocent comedy act, I see something different.

I see a ruthless opportunist, an ice-cold exploiter who will do anything for a cheap laugh. There is no comedy here born of pathos or deep soul-searching, like Richard Pryor, Woody Allen, or even Dave Chapelle at his best.

With Cohen, it's just a guy with ice-water in his veins, humiliating people for a laugh.

It's a hook, not a straight, so he doesn't need as much leg leverage. His knees are bent and elbow is locked. I'm sure while he was telling homeboy to step back, his entire right shoulder was tensed like a spring ready to go. Put a full torso rotation on and got some serious torque behind that punch and got him right on the button.

This prank shit is getting old. Clear sign of the times we have too many young guys with not enough wars to fight or skycrapers to build.

It's not a good sign that people try to continue to escalate nonsense.

And each time someone is "successful" it fades quickly.

It is like an arms race of stupidity.

The kid in the video seems to have nothing going for him but attitude - the I am a badass attitude. No muscle, a belly, and the general idea that he is a cool.

The fact that he gets knocked out momentarily doesn't give him the good sense to not show it. If anything, I bet he was happy inside. Happy that he has this "great" footage to show, to get attention with, to tell a story.

And when he tells that story in person, he will tell it as if he was the victim or how cool it was (yes, he probably thinks it's cool), rather than the dangerous, waste of time event that it was.

I hope he suffered some permanent damage from the punch.

I am glad this wise ass got taught a lesson.

Some observations;

1) he didnt know he was going to be hit. He had the confidence that came with so many people backing down/"oh its all good bro funny prank"

2) i will give him credit, he did take a hard flush hit, get a nasty cut, and keep a good attitude. Being knocked out isnt just like you regain conciousness and youre back to normal. Its a crazy experience, you feel fucked up. He handled it well. At least what we saw on camera.

That said the lesson to take away is how he didn't back down ans how obviously stronger and bigger guys were thrown out of their frame.

The power for a big punch comes from your, as explained by this MMA fighter. This is why foot and leg position can tell you where a power punch could come from.

The Ali G persona was created not to mimic or ridicule Americans but to ridicule white Brits who in the 90s started to act like they were gangster rappers.

Also the most epic trolling of feminism has to be in the movie 'The Dictator' he absolutely dismantles the ridiculousness of it in that movie

Exactly. It wasn't originally created for the American market. It's a parody of middle class white Brit teens who speak 'street' despite living at home in a nice suburb with Mum and Dad, or in Ali G's case, his grandma.

Bojangles & Teedub:

Yes, I'm aware of that. I get it. I know the "Ali G" character wasn't meant for Americans or to lampoon Americans. (But if you want to get technical about it, all that hip-hop culture ultimately comes from New York). But at the end of the day, the Europeans just ape the pop culture forms imported soullessly from our bankrupt culture here in the US.

But I don't want to get into a big culture debate over that. That's not really the point here.

The point is that I see Cohen's style of comedy as malicious and mean-spirited. He's a knock-off of a knock-off. That's all I'm saying.

Tastes will differ. I realize my opinion of him is not shared by the majority. He's a multimillionaire, and I'm a random dude typing on an internet forum. He could give two shits what I think about him, and I get that.

But I still want to say what I think of him and his "act."

It'd be funnier if the guy agreed to kiss his ass then kicked him in the taint when he bent over.

Yeah, I thought the prank itself was pretty stupid.
These "doing wacky shit on the street to strangers" pranks used to be about fun, absurdity, and confusion... I've notice they're descending more and more into just antagonizing people. Hope the trend does not continue.
For instance, contrast with this:

But I was impressed with his ability to take a punch and a knockout and bounce right back from it.

it's interesting how any idiot can find a camera, do something socially awkward, make people uneasy, record it, call it a ''social experiment'' or ''prank'', upload it on youtube, get 5 million hits and make money. this is what the internet's come to. you click on a video out of curiosity, whether it may be because of the hot girl image on the thumbnail or the intriguing title, watch some nobrain footage for 4 minutes and unintentionally help these people make a living on trolling people and enjoying internet fame. so the other people who realize that they can get a camera, shoot some ''social experiments'' with little-to-none brainpower involved and enjoy its sweet fruits just like the ones before them. so it spreads more and more, people click more and more, it's a neverending cycle.

Vitaly is an original one, a self-made celebrity, and simplepickup also used to be very creative and entertaining in their previos videos. Then they decided to make it a full-time profitable business, started some website called project GO, started charging people a ridiculous amount of money to watch them approaching girls left and right. They started using their Youtube channel only to upload nobrainer pranks like this, increase their subscreibers and channel them to this project GO.

It's very saddening that people are buying this crap and every day another self-made internet celebrity pops up with his very ''creative'' social experiment, gets tons of attention and money. I don't know how much money they make exactly, but it doesn't even matter. This is turning into an epidemic, a self-sustaining cycle with no way to stop except convincing each and every single person on the internet that just because a relatively ballsy guy decided to record himself spilling out some crap to girls and picking up their numbers (which girls give out like candies and that doesn't result in anything) doesn't mean they should subscribe and click on every new uploaded video to stimulate their neurotransmitters (credits go to Roosh).

Regarding Borat, I used to think he was the most hilarious thing, back when Cohen only did small 2 or 3 minute skits on the Ali G show, but when the Movie came out I thought it was the stupidest and most unfunny thing I'd ever watched, so I never really paid any attention to him after that. Never watched Bruno or the Dicatator, maybe they're funny, I don't know.

I only liked the clips too, but the Dictator has some gold in there, even his speech at the end of the movie about democracy

What's with the 'himbo', effeminate, breathy manner of speech? Is it a regional thing?
