Is there any merit to the anti-vaccine movement?

Is there any merit to the anti-vaccine movement?

At this point, I don't call myself anti-vaxx, but rather anti-unnecessary medicine. It's not as catchy a sound bite as the former, but it frames the argument in a better way to find the truth.

The short story on what I believe is that there is more money in sickness than health. You can only sell a cure to someone once, whereas you can medicine that covers up or alleviates their symptoms for an entire life time. Given that I know I've been lied to about almost everything when it comes to girl, and find that politics and history are similarly lied about, I am also very distrustful of the pharmaceutical industry.

I'm still learning about this stuff so I try not to make absolute statements given my lack of knowledge on the subjects. But I can say you'll absolutely run into problems if you buy the whole mainstream spiel; lock, stock, and barrel with little other proof or explanation other than they said so.

I am taking a jab at America again, but this is like the only country where the concept of "I don't rely on government, I do the stuff I want and I will take arms or defend if anyone else disagrees" is taken as stupidly as that.

If a nation gives a parent the right to kill an unborn baby in the womb and deems such a killing "healthcare," then parents should also have the right to choose the healthcare methodology for their living children. Have you ever actually read all the side effects of a measles vaccine, as published by its manufacturer? Of course, Merck always lists "death" last, although there have been hundreds of death.

Serious complications reported by Merck in the ProQuad(MMR-V) product insert during vaccine post-marketing surveillance include6:

measles;
atypical measles;
vaccine strain varicella;
varicella-like rash;
herpes zoster;
herpes simplex;
pneumonia and respiratory infection;
pneumonitis;
bronchitis;
epididymitis;
cellulitis;
skin infection;
subacute sclerosing panencephalitis;
aseptic meningitis;
thrombocytopenia;
aplastic anemia (anemia due to the bone marrow’s inability to produce platelets, red and white blood cells);
lymphadenitis (inflammation of the lymph nodes);
anaphylaxis including related symptoms of peripheral, angioneurotic and facial emema;
agitation;
ocular palsies;
necrotizing retinitis (inflammation of the eye);
nerve deafness;
optic and retrobulbar neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve);
Bell’s palsy (sudden but temporary weakness of one half of the face);
cerebrovascular accident (stroke);
acute disseminated encephalomyelitis;
measles inclusion body encephalitis;
transverse myelitis;
encephalopathy;
Guillain-Barré syndrome;
syncope (fainting);
tremor;
dizziness;
paraesthesia;
febrile seizure;
afebrile seizures or convulsions;
polyneuropathy (dysfunction of numerous peripheral nerves of the body);
Stevens-Johnson syndrome;
Henoch-Schönlein purpura;
acute hemorrhagic edema of infancy;
erythema multiforme;
panniculitis;
arthritis;
death

A 2014 published study on the MMR-V vaccine in Canada determined that the risk of febrile seizures to be double in children receiving the MMR-V vaccine when compared to those receiving the MMR and varicella vaccines separately.7 A 2015 meta-analysis found a two-fold increase in febrile seizures between 5 and 12 days or 7 and 10 days following MMR-V vaccination in children between the ages of 10 and 24 months.8

MMR-V vaccine contains albumin, a human blood derivative, and as a result, a theoretical risk of contamination with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) exists. Merck states that no cases of transmission of CJD or other viral diseases have been identified and virus pools, cells, bovine serum, and human albumin used in vaccine manufacturing are all tested to assure the final product is free of potentially harmful agents.

Serious complications reported by Merck in the MMRII product insert during vaccine post-marketing surveillance include:9

brain inflammation (encephalitis) and encephalopathy (chronic brain dysfunction);
panniculitis (inflammation of the fat layer under the skin);
atypical measles;
syncope (sudden loss of consciousness, fainting);
vasculitis (inflammation of the blood vessels);
pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas);
diabetes mellitus;
thrombocytopenia purpura (blood disorder);
Henoch-Schönlein purpura (inflammation and bleeding in the small blood vessels);
acute hemorrhagic edema of infancy (rare vasculitis of the skin’s small vessels occurring in infants);
leukocytosis (high white blood cell count);
anaphylaxis (shock);
bronchial spasms;
pneumonia;
pneumonitis(inflammation of the lung tissues);
arthritis and arthralgia (joint pain);
myalgia (muscle pain);
polyneuritis (inflammation of several nerves simultaneously);
measles inclusion body encephalitis (disease affecting the brain of immunocompromised persons);
subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (fatal progressive brain disorder caused by exposure to the measles virus);
Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS)(disease where the body’s immune system attacks the nerves);
acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) (brief widespread inflammation of the nerve’s protective covering);
transverse myelitis (inflammation of the spinal cord);
aseptic meningitis;
erythema multiforme (skin disorder from an allergic reaction or infection);
urticarial rash (hives, itching from an allergic reaction);
measles-like rash;
Stevens-Johnson syndrome (severe reaction causing the skin and mucous membranes to blister, die, and shed);
nerve deafness (hearing loss from damage to the inner ear);
otitis media (ear infection);
retinitis (inflammation of the retina of the eye);
optic neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve);
conjunctivitis (pink eye);
ocular palsies (dysfunction of the ocular nerve);
epididymitis (inflammation of the epididymis);
paresthesia (burning or prickling of the skin);
death.

When serious consequences can occur either way, parents should have a fundamental right to make that choice. Sure, go ahead and trust the big drug companies. They have no vested interest in maximizing profits at the expense of people's health or their lives. [Image: tard.gif]

This is specious logic. A family choosing abortion can only impact the dead fetus. A family choosing not to get the measles vacine can impact many, many people.

The comment was intended to show the foolish hypocrisy of the government eliminating the freedom of healthcare choices from caring parents, when the very same government allows the unbridled killing of other children by uncaring parents. The government worries about a few possible deaths from measles each year, when arguably more deaths are caused by the measles vaccine, and over 600,000 deaths are caused by abortion.

Alright.

So it seems, measles has come back.

Where is the protection seemingly offered by clean water + better hygien?

I am taking a jab at America again, but this is like the only country where the concept of "I don't rely on government, I do the stuff I want and I will take arms or defend if anyone else disagrees" is taken as stupidly as that.

"If the government or the state forces me, I will just pay the 1000$ fine and/or move in another state."
Of course, juicily exposing the other unvaccinated kids/allergic folks, but hey: I don't care, if the vaccine ain't kosher, it won't do!!!

Not trying to call you out specifically, but you're one of the more prominent poster who completely discredit what's going on... and does it very condescendingly I might add! Invest $3.99 and watch this Here

Once you know how the Establishment operates... you'll see how smart these mofos are! Vaccines are effective against preventing diseases... but the Triple Stacking of the Meases, Mumps & Rubella in Young... Very Young kids is the issue! Even I didn't know that... cuz this whole Vaccines vs Anti-Vaccines shifts away the Focus from That!

So this whole thread, this whole debate is built on a lie which reinforces vaccinations, makes anti-vaccines proponents look more looney than Alex Jones... but most importantly... allows the Drug Companies to keep doing what they're doing. The issue is not even vaccination, but the 3x Stacking of the MMR shot in 1 instance... and on top of that these mofos made it illegal to take these shots separately!

If you watch the movie, and keep the same opinion then it's cool... But Please Step Your Game Up! Condescendingly insulting some RVF members like you've done in this Thread Ain't a Good Look!

^ Fallowing my mini rant above... I still believe in vaccination. But unless they make it legal to have the MMR shots taken separately... sorry I'm passing! Anyone who watches this Here(for $3.99 on Rent), and decides to have their young children get the MMR shot... has more courage than I do... to say this politely!

As I have stated several times in this thread, vaccines are all about cost-benefit analysis and the freedom to make the decision of whether to take the vaccine. Outbreak of the bubonic plague with a 50% chance of catching it and a 50% chance of death if you do catch it, opposed to a 2% chance of death from the vaccine. Sure, get the vaccine.

thread-34230...pid1569965

The problem is that most vaccines are simply not worth the risk, because of the great uncertainty whenever you insert a foreign substance into the human body, especially when laced with substances such as formaldehyde, mercury, aluminum, etc. As Captain Gh already mentioned, the odds of a serious problem increases dramatically when you mix vaccines or take them in a shortened time period, especially for children who do not have fully developed immune sytems.
