Tail gunner shouldn't have been suspended

The content on this forum is user generated. This is a male only space where guys are supposed to be able to relax and voice their opinions without worrying about petty shit getting in the way.

This is what I'm talking about:

I thought that this was going to be a story about a man who killed a boar with his bare hands or some make shift weapon.

After opening this page, I discovered that he used a gun like a pussy. Poor boar never had a chance.

tuth: Co-sign. What exactly is the accomplishment here?

Now, I actually agree with this. However, there is a large sub-culture in America that takes hunting very seriously and considers it a highly skilled past time that carries with it an aura of masculinity considering hunting is basically the oldest male profession. Tail-gunner, consider the name, obviously falls into this camp. This is what he wrote:

you ever hunted tuth?

Please tell me you're not getting ready to make the argument that I can't comment on hunting unless I've done it before.

Yes, the fact that you referred to a simple semi-auto as a "machine gun" means that you should not be commenting on the topic. An AR-10 functions just like any other rifle. It uses a .308 (7.62 NATO) round. It simply has a military-style appearance.

Your comments are akin to average frustrated chumps making sport of tight game and then saying "Oh, that fool just got lucky with that girl." Many people hunt for a whole season and get nothing for their efforts. So, it is quite an accomplishment -- whether he bagged an average size hog or a monster. Who on this forum considers himself unlucky because he bagged a six instead of an eight on a night out?

Unless you know a subject well, it is best to be both objective and restrained in opinion. Some food for thought.

Obviously tail gunner was a little put off Tuth has no respect for something he might be very good at or take very seriously. So, he voiced a disagreement with another members opinion on hunting who happens to be a moderator while making an analogy to game (this is a game forum) to make his point.

I respect Tuth a ton. He's a great writer, great moderator, and probably a great guy in real life, however, in this case, I have to speak up. I have always stuck up for righteousness and no matter how much I respect tuth, I still feel like I need to speak up for Tail-gunner.

Tail gunner is obviously a hunter who simply disagreed with tuth that hunting takes no skill when done with a gun. I tend to agree with Tuth, however, if on this forum, members are not allowed to respectfully disagree with the moderators it promotes a toxic environment.

I have a 40% suspension (correctly metted out I might add, I was drunk and being idiotic) so this might be my last post. I have met up with a few members recently in real life who have shared frustration over the suspensions. I haven't seen it until today. Tail-gunners suspension was ridiculous. This forum is great, I want to be a part of it, but if we can't disagree with the moderators, then I think the forum loses a lot of its appeal.

Guys can disagree with me, and frequently do. In fact, people disagreed with me in that very thread without incident. What you can't do is go ad-hominem (with not just me, but anyone else on the forum). Likening me or anyone else to an "average frustrated chump" (a.k.a. "beta")--which is one of the figures that we hold in the lowest esteem--is a not-so-veiled insult. It's not unlike telling a guy he's acting like feminist. Those are insults in our community, and we all know that. In fact, I'd say almost every guy on this forum would rather be called an asshole or cocksucker versus one of those two things.

As for you, you've chosen to make this public--and try to foment drama--rather than deal with this privately. While I appreciate your qualifying statements, this would have done exactly that if I hadn't closed this thread.

7-day suspension. Your old 40% warning expired a couple of days ago, so see you in a week.
