D&P Podcast on training

MikCF,

If I may ask, do you think your routine would be pretty good for anyone to follow?

I do upper body - MWF
Lower body plus some cardio - TT
Sat and Sunday - I shoot hoops and a little cardio

I just feel fucking weird if I don't go to the gym.

I wonder if I am overdoing it.

I didn't listen to the podcast so I apologize if you covered any of this (HIT isn't really my cup of tea), I have just read the comments thus and the OP of full reps failure, static failure, and eccentric failure to get the idea of what was said.

Similar to that outline, have you ever given beyond failure training a try?

^^^This guy posted the original article written by Trevor L. Smith.

^^^I think this thread has a picture of the guy.

Essentially it is similar. One movement. Isolation movements. Complete and absolute failure.
Go to failure on full reps, partner assisted for 8 reps. Drop the weight. Go to failure on full reps, partner assisted for 8 reps. Drop the weight, partner assisted for 8 reps.

I'm sure you could throw some static holds in there and/or some slow eccentrics. Well, try and do those anyway. Maybe do third drop set of a static hold and eccentric failure. If nothing else, this is a way to make sure you are achieving to failure.

I have tried this in the past. More for the novelty of it more than anything. It is definitely beyond torture and is absolutely NOT for beginners, if anybody else reads it and wants to try it.

I don't like taking off days and only take them because my body says I have to.

If you're recovering, your schedule is fine.
