Growing Taller after Puberty

Growing Taller after Puberty

Im average height for a dude but have been looking into resources that talk about growing taller after puberty.

Most of the material out there say that you finish growing when you're growth plates densify and become bone. This happens after puberty. The big factor in this equation are growth hormones which are produced in the pituitary glands in our brains. During puberty, the amount of GH we secrete affects the growth of our skeletal frame, internal organs, and even dick size.

I dont know much about GHs. So Im going out on a limb here and wondering aloud if its at all possible for your GH to restimulate growth after puberty. If one was to live a life that promotes maximal testosterone and GH production, could they theoretically grow taller? Or could injections of HGH help here at all?

Can anybody with any solid info on this post up some info? Its ok if its just to call me a moron, just explain to me why. I dont have any solid understanding about how growth works exactly.

In his tell-all autobiography exposing the use of performance enhancing drugs in major leagues sports, Jose Canseco mentioned that the use of HGH helped parts of his body grow. Who knows.

Just hit the gym and find shoes that add an inch to your height. Trying to get bigger after puberty is a fools errend.

Agreed or else take the Space Alien (Tom Cruise) approach and get those shoes that add "Up to 5 "unnoticeable" inches of height!"

GH can cause bones to grow after puberty but not in length, they'll grow in thickness, causing a wide, massive jaw, and enlargement of the hands. It's called acromegaly

For GH to cause bones to grow in length, you need a growth plate. Some parents who can afford it deliberately pump their kids with GH to make them grow taller.

What the Chinese are doing regularly is to break people's legs, pull the bones apart slightly, and force the two bones to then regrow inbetween the space. That seems a bit extreme to me though, surely that has the potential to go horribly wrong at times, no?

Regularly? From what I know, this procedure costs over 100 000$, and that is not counting the costs from all the things that can go horribly wrong. Surely not many Chinese families would be able to afford it, assuming that they were crazy enough to consider it in the first place.

Lifting and yoga helped me appear taller by giving me better posture. Fall through spring I wear Red Wing boots which add an inch probably and are just a good footwear choice in general.

Shoes that make you taller or wearing lifts in your shoes as well. Definitely see a medical professional if you genuinely want to increase your actual height though. There's a certain age where your bone plates fuse and you cannot grow any taller after that point, regardless of what growth hormones you take and what not. And then there's the surgical alternative, which is very extreme, and I wouldn't recommend unless you were ridiculously short.

Fair enough comment.
