I was speaking to one of my teachers today (who is a big time adventurer and kayaker) and telling him about some of my travel plans, and he said I should check out this blog:
http://greatwhiteexplorer.blogspot.co.uk by Hendri coetzee
It was written by a (now deceased) South African explorer and kayaker, who was the first to kayak many sections of the Nile and generally did crazy shit. Its got some really cool travel stories and thoughts on life/ philosophy.
I personally would recommend reading from the start, as there are only about 10 posts by Hendri, (the rest are obituaries by his friends after he was eaten by a crocodile). His last post is very poignant and almost prophetic, so it is worth reading the previous posts before you get to it.
