Green Drink

Hi everybody, I have learned a lot here so I figured that I should share my morning green drink recipe that I have been drinking for the last 2 years or so. You can buy premixed green drinks that come in fancy containers and are very expensive. Or you can design your very own recipe.

There are different types of green drinks, but the type I am talking about is just dried plant powder mixed with some liquid. The list of shit that you could put in your green drink is almost endless. The things that you want to focus on with your green drink is getting foods that you wont typically, or ever, get in your regular diet. Therefore, I think the best base is spirulina and chlorella. They are both highly nutritious algae. After that base, I use wheatgrass powder and a little green tea powder. That is my main mix. I alternate the last few ingredients. Sometimes I use maca powder (a healthy root from the Andes moutnains), moringa (leafy green powder, or tumeric. You can really put anything into the mix which is why it is so great, but I would try to not put more than 3-5 different ingredients in any one batch.

As far as how much of each ingredient to mix into the batch, just use the serving sizes that come on the package as a guideline, keeping in mind that Chlorella and spirulina should be the primary ingredients.

You can get this stuff from a million different places online, but I buy all mine by the pound from nuts.com. I found that it is the cheapest there. They also have a huge variety of different raw, healthy food type shit.

One more thing I want to mention is that this isnt my entire breakfast. I mix a scoop (apprx. 1.5 tablespoons) of this green shit, a couple scoops of yogurt, and your protein powder of choice. Lately I have been leaning towards vegetable protein which includes pea protein, brown rice protein, hemp protein, and chia seeds. This shake is a pretty damn complete breakfast. With about 250-300 calories it has plenty of carbs, protein, fiber, as well as much of your daily vitamin and mineral needs. I also eat a small serving of fresh fruit.

The green drink itself tastes like ass, but who cares. If you are concerned you can use juice instead of water. Also, the protein powder and flavored yogurt can help with the taste. Enjoy
