Anyone ever get their car repainted?

Just waxed my ride up, and between people touching up my back bumper and hella chips on the hood and front bumper, the wax jobs calls attention to the all of the flaws.

The car in mint/near mint condition is only worth 8-10k. (06 Acura TL black)

I repainted an old vehicle with a gallon of semi gloss rustoleum and a commericial residential paint sprayer.

Cost about 40 bucks and took about 10 minutes (not counting prep time). Came out just fine. You can throw a coat of clearcoat on after or else that glossy look will fade.

God'll prolly have me on some real strict shit

I know someone who does great detail work and will come to your house. Has a great reputation around town. Why would you paint it unless you just want to change the color? I know someone who does good work on that if you really wanna switch it up. Definetly don't go to Midas or one of those places.

I worked in an auto body shop for a bit... If the paint is non metallic(no sparkles in the paint) it is fairly cheap to get painted.. The reason being that when you have metallic paint it is a lot harder to get things to match up. With metallic paint they tend to paint a whole side so things blend together well. With a flat or gloss black, its real easy to paint even just a small spot and get it to blend well.

For what it would cost, you could also go with Plastidip and get your whole car covered in a rubber coating that you can just peel off if you get sick of it.

I went Earl Scheib with an ancient Toyota I loved about 7 years ago and it was 300. Looked quite good, solid red. Maybe detail people can save yours without that.

Dip looks pretty cool. Metallic black with what looks like blue flakes.

It's chipped pretty bad all over. Plus there's a dent on the roof pillar (how it got there I have no idea)

I should let a shop look at it.
