Mystery spits some bad game to a girl at a bar

"There may be a reason why Neil Strauss jumped ship and went back to writing about whatever."

^Neil has always been a writer. He was a Rolling Stone writer, before he wrote The Game.

He's the only one winning now because his profession and title are cool.

The problem with those stuck in the archaic PUA world is that no one gives a flying fuck about Mystery anymore.

Nothing personal against him, but he should have parlayed his fame into something more with substance.

I never read his book. I never gleaned much from hanging out with him or Matador about the Game. I never painted my nails and 'peacocked.' In fact, I knew that shit was retarded from the beginning and rocked a suit when they had their leather vests and do-rags, and guess who pulled more consistently?

And that was in their peak of fame.

Strauss is a dork but I bet he still pulls high-quality tail to this day. He seems to be on top of his game to me and hangs with a lot of famous socialites.

Strauss seemed to understand the idea of self-development. Being a PUA instructor is no end game.

Doing in-field training is not a good long term plan. Roosh won't do it any more. Perhaps he'd be willing to weigh in on exactly why, but I'd speculate that there have to be more rewarding ways of making money than spending weekend after weekend with nerds desperate enough to shell out thousands of dollars.

No one has ever gotten good at game from a bootcamp. The bootcamp may have been a starting point on the new adventure, but the real achievement was accomplished by putting in the necessary time and effort -- just like anything else worth doing in life.

Time has shown that you can achieve the same things by joining a community like this, but that high value women are more attracted to guys who have a cohesive lifestyle/game/personality combination than some guy who just has good game.

You'll get somewhere with just game, but you'll have to blow out plenty on a regular basis.

We've realized that it is a package deal. Self betterment is not best compartmentalized.

If you JUST game and are living the PUA instructor's dream of making a living from doing nothing more than picking up women, you are only as good as your next pick-up attempt.

That can't be much of a life really.

There is something to be said about achieving concrete goals.

The problem with a bootcamp is that part of getting at good at game is moving past the need for a safety blanket or magic feather. The bootcamp can actually get in the way.

It's better to go hang with some players, watch what they do, try to get info from them, and try it yourself.

That's the key right there.

Substance over style.

Otherwise, you have to constantly innovate to stay out ahead.

Surprised none of the commentors mentioned it, but him and his buddy look pretty tweaked out in that video.

And not just high for the night tweaked out. They look like they're steadily on their way down the tubes.

Agreed.

This sucks because they're living out a stupid cliche and giving ammunition to the haters.

Age has nothing to do with it -- Mystery could easily be pulling more and higher quality ass right now than he ever did before. There is no "male wall", but there is very definitely a strung out loser wall and he's hitting that one hard and fast.

He could be a winner living a healthy life, banging choice young pussy and saying a big Fuck You to all the haters. Instead he's giving some of the worst people in the world an occasion for some nasty schadenfreude.

He should turn it the fuck around, stop the drugs and boozing, and get back on top of his game. No need to play out the cliche to the bitter end.

What do you guys think of this?

A few points:

1. He is obviously intoxicated and it probably isn't a good representation of his Game. How many of us would want our texts publicized that were written in our less than sober states?

2. It has been a long time since I read The Game. However, I recall that Mystery has a history of psychological and substance abuse problems. Looks like he is battling some demons here.

3.I don't think we would have this Forum to discuss this if it wasn't for him. Some of his material seems antiquated now, but we are all better off for his work.

4. He might look like a clown, but he achieved more than most by becoming famous and hosting his own TV show. Not bad... He truly experiences Fame Game. Imagine how many girls he has banged just because he is famous and famous for picking up girls.

I am cutting him some slack and hopes he cleans up his life.

If this dude would show up dressed like this around here in EE, with nailpolish, eyeliner, fuzzy hats, goggles and LED boards, he would be just a clown and a weirdo, I wouldn't be surprised if he got beat up. To me his dressing style just screams "Trying too hard" and "I need to compensate for stuff thru flashy clothes". I doubt women, even American ones, are looking to bang this type of guy. The only thing this guy is special at in my opinion is attracting naive fanboys. To me this guy and a bunch of other popular pickup coaches are just good marketers. Around here they wouldn't do shit, except fooling fanboys.

He hasn't aged well. He looks tired and burnt out. It might be as some say due to substance abuse. Or maybe he just parties too much. Staying in and getting rest is important as you age.

I agree with others, it might be time for him to change his style to something more elegant - i.e., suiting up.

Take care of those titties for me.

Mystery spits some bad game to a girl at a bar

I had heard that Mystery had some drug abuse issues. And I've seen photos of him out pushing baby carriages and looking domesticated.

And that video and text messaging do not show him in a flattering light, to say the least. That chick is an attention-whoring cunt, and revels in knocking the once-great Mystery off his perch. But he gave her the ammunition to do it.

He did have good info about male and female psychology, and did make a mark on the popular culture. But he's definitely past his prime, and has not aged well. If you're doing the same shit you were doing 20 years ago, and not growing, you're missing the boat.

I hate drugs and drug users. I see that as a crutch for weak people.

He needs to clean himself up, find a new path, and move on.

At this point I see him as a cautionary tale. He never found a way to leverage his notoriety from 10-15 years ago into something else. Why? Because at the end of the day, he's got nothing else except slight-of-hand and flim-flam. No depth, no substance. Just a lot of talk in the bag.

Should be a lesson for all of us. At the end of the day, if you're not focusing on overall self-improvement, you're going to end up looking like these two burnouts.

I'm not a big fan of Mystery, but this article has no credibility to me. For all we know she got pumped and dumped and he hasn't called her back, so she's doing that for attention.

Sure the article was attention whoring, but it's still a shame Mystery seems not to have moved on from 2003. He basically created the whole "PUA" paradigm, which was important, but you don't want to get stuck there forever.

It's not about the PUA paradigm or using this or that game style.

It's about the guy becoming a strung out tweaker who looks like he has a few years to live if he doesn't clean up his act. It really looks that bad.

Whether you like his game approach or not, Mystery is a brilliant guy. That makes it all the more of a waste.

Of course the Gawker writer and crew are ghouls who would love nothing more than to dance on his grave. That should go without saying.

Everyone who was big in the dating niche in late 90's and early-mid 2000's branched out.

David D Angelo with DoubleYourDating parlayed his DYD e-book success into Internet Marketing success.

Last time I checked he made around $9,000,000.00 last year and has a sick crib on the ocean in San Diego.

I'm not sure if Mystery's books etc still sell enough to make him live a baller lifestyle, but he sure as shit isn't making $9mil a year.

At a certain point, regardless of your Game, it's important to build a lifestyle:

1. For yourself. Building a playboy lifestyle = options =the finest pussy.

2. If you stay stuck in what worked in the late 90's-mid 2000's you will be left in the dust. Mystery and Matador's lays now could be partially from the minor fame they have. Hoes still love any form of fame. Are they banging Jessia Alba and Megan Fox though? Hell no. Time to upgrade.

Once again, I'm not knocking them personally, I'm just saying that developing yourself is just as important as working on your game and becomes more important as you age.

I'm 29yo and more than likely can out party almost anyone on this forum, however, that is not the end all be all. As I approach 30yo, I am focused on building my lifestyle even more. I love to party and don't mind a few rails here and there, but everything must have balance. Doing some lines a couple times a month, or doing it twice a week is a big difference.

I know they party (from the times I was with them) and clearly still do and that's fine, but for their sake they need to change it up and go back to the grindstone.

While this sucks for Mystery, it's actually good for the rest of us.

The more women have this perception that PUA guys are a bunch of D&D nerds that depend on "peacocking" and "kino", the easier it is for us to slip under the radar.

If you're a relatively normal looking guy with years of approaches in your background, stories like this make you that much more lethal. While Mystery is propagating this retarded antiquated caricature of PUAs wearing feather boas, the rest of us can go out looking relatively "normal", whether suited up or not, and absolutely kill it.

Women and manginas rail against PUAs because of their seeming abnormality. Therefor the more "normal" you appear, the more powerful you are.

Using slubu as an example, he's the most mild-mannered, put-together, unassuming "normal" guy I think I've ever met. But then you turn your back and he's bagging foursomes and nailing Russian 8s [Image: lol.gif]

"...so I gave her an STD, and she STILL wanted to bang me."

I like this. Use Mystery as a false flag. You can slip under the radar by acting more natural, and they'll never know you study game and hit on tons of bishes.

I actually read his book that came out around 2010-2011, and based on that he definitely toned down some of the shit he used to do. He was talking about some pretty cool shit in the book though, like opening 8's and getting them to walk around with him so he could use them as a prop to bang 10's in the same venue. I suspect he probably still has people who are willing to pay top dollar for advice from him.
