Longboarding

Does anybody here longboard? I'm looking to get into it as something cool to do with my kid. I'm not into doing any crazy tricks or anything. Just tool around on it and maybe cruise down some hills.

From what I read the funky looking low ones are easier to maneuver. Any tips or recommendations on boards or cool places to go with a longboard?

There's a lot of $$$ to be made in Longboarding. Its a growing niche. It's going to be interesting how it continues to develop (competitively and casually). I have some friends that are semi-pro amateurs and the amount of time and $$$ they invest into the sport is astonishing

There are a lot of more skateboard focused companies transitioning into the field though.

Yeah it's pretty cool. I like the concept. They have a long wide stance. They're just big cruisers. Easy for a kid to learn on. They sell them all over the mall.

I know the guys at Landyachtz and have a few boards kicking around.

I ride the seawall, its a 22km long ride. Lots of hot women and good scenery.
Here we are for a ride after chilling on the beach drinking beers.

Get one with some flexibility in the deck. It will smooth bumps and make cruising a lot more pleasant.
