Do you wake up to an alarm clock?
How do alarm clocks cause anxiety?
And you say wake up to a soothing alarm clock - could you elaborate further?
What is the best method to wake up (besides naturally) at a specific time?
Nascimento, The best way to wake up at a specific time is to keep a rigorously consistent sleeping schedule. Go to bed the same time every night, wake up the same time every morning. No exceptions, or almost none.
Once a schedule like this is entrained, even if you set an alarm if will be irrelevant because you will naturally wake up a few minutes
before the alarm. Basically, you will entrain your body and brain to function as a natural alarm. There is nothing better than that for your sleep and overall health.
What fucks up a lot of guys is that they get up early the whole week, but then Friday and Saturday nights they're out all night and sleep in way past their weekday waking time Saturday and Sunday morning. So they can never really entrain a consistent schedule and on Monday morning the alarm jolts them from sleep all over again. It's not a great way to run your week, especially once you're no longer very young.
Using a light box helps -- I've written about this elsewhere, look it up.
I'm going to do a comprehensive post on sleep hygiene one of these days. But the long and the short of it is that you want to entrain yourself to a very consistent schedule and almost never violate it.
