Non-English Forums/Blogs/Sites (ex. on Lifestyle) Worth Frequenting?

Non-English Forums/Blogs/Sites (ex. on Lifestyle) Worth Frequenting?

If you don't use a language, you lose it.

We already know that, but few people really examine how much time they spend actively in English.

Here's a simple, but key observation: besides spoken conversation, it is the internet where we spend tons of "language time" consuming information via reading.

Now - each person has his own sites that he frequents, so I was thinking: how about adding to that a foreign language site?

If it's part of your routine, then that's a seamless way for you to regularly maintain and improve your foreign language skills (assuming of course, that your level is high enough to get by or you have sufficient motivation to trudge through the material). In fact, after you reach a level of conversational fluency (late B1 to B2), you'd probably struggle to improve if you don't make reading a huge priority.

I've actually thought about this for a long time, but it's difficult finding something of sustaining interest.

Add to that the tragedy of riches problem that most of the cutting edge information out there is written in English (especially in professional subjects like marketing).

So my questions (especially from you non-Anglosphere natives):

What are the foreign language forums/blog/sites that you guys frequent that you believe are worth frequent glances?

I know this forum is itself unique in the Anglosphere, but are there perhaps any similarly minded "lifestyle" forums or (non-shitty) self-improvement forums?

I'm most focused on French (French web-comics culture is solid), but I keep messing around with Spanish and that's a language that sticks relatively easily with comparatively little effort, not to mention that Spanish has got tons of reach. Of course, these aren't the only languages people are learning, so other language suggestions will be useful too: Portuguese and Russian would appear to be the most useful here; Japanese and Chinese too (though I don't particularly trust that Chinese information would jive well educationally).

Great thread.

My spanish became fluent very fast thanks to a spanish forum. I have been using this spanish forum everyday for the last 3 years (I actually spend more time there than on roosh forum) but I am sure it won't interest anybody on here, so don't ask what is that forum about.

Anyway, I am looking for a french forum in lifestyle, international travelling or hiphop, if anybody knows one, please let me know.
