RVF Travelers VIP Lounge - Everything Goes

If you were to go for a short trip with your mother, where would you go? I am planning to take a trip with my mother in November for about 10 days

- nice weather for time of year
- want to be somewhat active vs laying around in some resort type place
= Natural beauty +/ historic attractions high priority
- hit 2-3 interesting cities in that window of time
- I speak spanish so learning towards somewhere in Latin america

any ideas?

I flew my parents down to Medellin for a week and they loved it, we also spent 2 days in the coffee zone at a hacienda and did a fun coffee tour and went hiking in Salento. My dad loved the fact that we could drink beer everywhere, my only regret was that I couldn’t get step mom away for a couple of hours to take him to a whore house to bang a hot Paisa.

I have a travel related question that I don't believe merits its own thread.

I m here in South East Asia. Pretty crappy experience at work home social life etc. for various reasons.

I'm going to have to pin my ears back and work super hard/ try for inhumanly hard over the next few weeks.

I need some kind of reward to aim for.
I've booked 7 days leave in 8 weeks time as a pressure release valve.

Looking to get drunk and get amongst the ladies, both white and local. Ideally by the sea.
Trying to work out where to go.

I want to go outside Vietnam where I am now.

I've been through southern Thailand and Bangkok a million times, and whilst I love it I'm looking to try somewhere new.

I was looking at the perhentian islands in Malaysia as well as Co Rong in Cambodia as amazing idyllic beach holidays : just wary of being stuck next to land whale dreadlocked women studies tourists with no escape.

Forum members tell me that places like Angeles and cebu are actually shit holes so kind of stumped just now..

Not looking for a panacea or perfection, just ideas.

Any thoughts welcome.

I find it amusing when members in the travel section speak poorly about locals in some of the countries I've visited. Posting here rather then the threads I see it so I don't hurt any feels. However I think it just goes to show that you should go check out a country on your own for the most part cause everyone is gonna have a different experience. To the guys trashing people in a few countries I had a amazing time and found the people to be awesome in.....well you probably just suck at life. You can't blame people in other countries for the fact you are a miserable human being with no social skills.

Cheers

Doesn't really make sense

You said that "everyone is gonna have a different experience" yet anyone who had a different experience to you sucks at life and are miserable human beings? [Image: huh.gif]

^ Yes, miserable people who suck at life always have a different experience than those who don't. It's petty self explanatory.

They also whine the loudest and longest (often for years; often a lifetime), hence Cr33pin's warning not to listen to such antics without checking a place out for yourself.

There's a difference between realistic Intel and seething negativity obviously based on personal hang ups. But the latter often clouds the web, which is why I rarely if ever visit data sheets before putting boots down in a new place.

It's a fair point to warn newbs about, so spare us the cheesy rhetoric.

So this year I travelled to Latin America for the first time, I went to Mexico for a month. Before coming here some said that I shouldn't go to Mexico because it's too Americanised and the girls are ugly. In return I found my pussy paradise and I loved everything about it, I had the time of my life.

Next year I have two options, go to Mexico again and see the North such as Guadalajara, I have a "girlfriend" in CDMX who is expecting me to come plus a rolodex of 12+ girls who I can hit up and can bang as soon as I land spread out between 6 states. I also have a big social circle there.

Or there is option 2. Go to Colombia as I have contacts in Bogota. Advantage of this is that I get to see a new culture and... It's Colombia. I also have a girl I can see in Bucaramanga. Disadvantage is that I will have to start from ground zero with my social circle.

Should I finish my tour of Mexico or go see something different?

I have the exact opposite issue, after spending 4-5 months in Colombia each winter for the past six years, I'm considering Mexico next winter. I've been there a couple of times and I like it but I know Colombia much better, have lots of friends there and plenty of girls waiting for me to return. Decisions, decisions......

Jokes aside I think I will go to Colombia, after spending time in the Colombian neighbourhood in Mexico City and seeing the talent there I have to go straight to the source, if I did well in Mexico I have no doubt I will do well in Colombia, the cultures aren't miles different either.

I have a few Colombian chicks who I talk to in Mexico City and they tell me Colombia has better parties but Mexico better food. They were also even more sexual and open than Mexicanas which I thought was impossible cos Mexicanas are already horny as hell by default. I think you should try out Mexico with your experience, especially Guadalajara plus the beach towns.

Wise words.

Never listen to negative words of some people about a certain country before you visit it itself.

Also when some one means '' negative '' words, it should clarify what it is, it has to do with security, easiness of females, aggressiveness of local guys, hopw ugly the females are, the food, condition of the city etc etc.

I spent two weeks in Jalisco, ten days in Gaudalajera and four in Puerto Vallarta. I like both and thought the chicas in GDL were pretty nice but overall I wasn't too impressed with the city, it's flat and kind of boring, I didn't see much talent during the day but it does come out at night for sure. Medellin on the other hand is a much nicer city, when you fly into the international airport at Rio Negro (about 40 minutes from the city) and then drive into the valley and down the hills into the city, it's quite impressive. You'll also see hotter women walking around in Medellin during the day and of course, lots at night. The down side is that the city is now flooded by horny gringos and the local chicas know the score, that combined with their flakiness and materialistic nature can make it a bit more difficult to find a decent girl, but they're definitely out there. I don't recommend dating in Medellin to beginners, that city can be rough even for us battle hardened poon veterans.

I'd like to see more of Mexico because its easier to get to, most Canadian cities have direct flights to PV and Cancun all year, plus Mexicans can travel to Canada visa free (thanks Trudeau!) so if I find one I like, I could fly her up there for visits.

You need to check out Mexico City! It;s a world-class city with tons of American amenities, great infrastructure, the locals are incredibly friendly, and the chicas are open and DTF. I would say is more Western friendly than any Colombian city.

The hilarious irony behind it is that Mr. Cr33pin is speaking with a forked tongue in his post -- that same passive aggressive, duplicitous, smarmy behavior I've been talking about.

If he has a problem with anyone personally, the PM box or ignore button are within reach.

Cr33pin, I feel ya, but not everyone likes the same things in life.

Personally, I'm a lot more conservative than many others. I, for instance, do not jive well with SEA. I don't write about my time in the Philipines since I don't wanna sour anyone's feelings, but I think I'm one of the few guys to visit a Filipino city and just hate it. It all feels very bathetic and put-on for me.

I couldn't see myself in a spot like Phils for more than a week or two at a time.

Am I a wet blanket? maybe.

Am I wrong? Possibly, but a lot of our experiences in these places are subjective.

I had another RVFer showing me around and I just felt uncomfortable amongst the locals. There was a real simmering sense of resentment there.

As much as I want everyone to love China as much as I do, there are some very legitimate problems with this country and the people and I just accept the criticisms and move on.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

Having met Bersagliere and having talked to Cr33pin (YO NIGGA WHAT'S UP [Image: icon_lol.gif] ) I get what you're each saying.

I actually went to Cebu and met up with Bersagliere and I see why he doesn't like that spot. Honestly, amongst our circle of friends, my experiences in Cebu spawned a little inside joke "fortis can go anywhere and NOT have fun."

Re: the problem isn't paradise/shit hole in question - the problem is you.

There's also a tendency I'm noticing whenever I post a question where I get PMs telling me "it seems like you're just a beta, creep etc. ' and that is the real reason why I needed to ask my question.

It's just odd.

BA just deposited 20k miles in my account. I had stopped using it because I use Qatar for OneWorld now but the 20k is enough for a round trip on American.

Some lawsuit settlement which I don't know or care what it was about.
