Iceberg Slim - legend

Like many of you - I am a massive fan of the comedian Patrice O'Neal.

And one of the shows he used to host was 'The Black Philip Show'. I was am in awe at the way he could break shit down, and know how to hustle and play women.

It is a style of thinking that (as a white guy) I had never come across before.

Anyway - in the recent (and brilliant) Mike Tyson autobiography - Tyson talks about hanging out with Iceberg Slim.

Iceberg Slim. I was vaguely familiar with the name but couldn't place it. Indeed - I thought he was a poker player.

I was wrong. He was the mack daddy of pimps and later became a famous author describing the dark secrets involved in manipulating women.

Mike Tyson was in awe of this guy since he (sadly) used to be about as beta as you can get when it came to women and love.

Anyway - after reading this part of the book. I suspected that this could be a guy spitting similar wisdom to the shit Patrice O'Neal used to teach.

I put the book down and watched a documentary about the guy online.

Really interesting man. He had some best selling books about pimping women - and Chris Rock (to this day) gives out his books as presents at the end of filming on the set of his films and TV shows. He says everything you need to know about life can be learned from his books.

I am about to track down some of his books. But thought I would raise the subject here. Have any of you read his books? He is not famous in the UK - but he seems to be a bit of a cult hero among black people in the US.

So - with that as a starter - I am wondering what others think of the legend that was Iceberg Slim?

He was preaching some dark shit. But I think it is the sort of knowledge that the superior man should arm himself with.

Iceberg Slim's "Pimp" is a great book. Not a good one, a great one. Probably in the top 10 that I've ever read.

If anyone wants to understand women and game -- or if anyone is just up for one the best reading experiences of their lives -- do yourself a favor and pick it up.

Classic.

I found ' Pimp: The Story of My Life' through The Rawness's blog a few years back. Your thread is an excellent reminder to read it again.

Men spend so much time and effort just to sex with women. To Iceberg Slim that was a negative, getting georgia'd... you're sleeping with her without getting money out of her first. If you're from white-bred suburbia Iceberg Slim's story some really eye-opening, next (next) level stuff.

Best book you could ever read after ingesting the red pill.

I read Iceberg Slim's "Trick Baby," it still haunts me.. Made such an impression on my mind.

I can almost transport myself to the southside of Chicago running the con games with White Folks.

What makes you think that White guys can not "break shit down, hustle, and play women"???

White guys have been studying that stuff for centuruies. (Giacomo Casanova, Ars Amatoria, Greek/Roman orgies, Larry Flynt, Hugh Heffner, etc. )

Some people think that Black guys learned pimping from White people.

White people learned how to "break" and pychologically alter slaves. The slaves then turned that knowledge on their own women and eventually all women.

Well - the white guy has being beta as fuck in pop culture over the past few decades. History is a different matter altogether.

If a white guy tries to do hip-hop and talk about scoring hos and being a pimp, it is like some kind of parody or comedy sketch. It just doesn't fly. Think about Ali G.

Black guys doing hip hop:

White guys doing hip hop:

I dunno' why it is. But white guys are currently cut out of the cultural scene when it comes to singing about sex and doing hos.

White guys need to get some game.

The book 'Pimp' is on YouTube as an audio book.

You can hear the opening chapter here. The actod doing the reading has the perfect voice. Iceberg Slim when he was younger had a cool voice as well. He was real charismatic as well.

One thing I learned is that a truly expert whore can suck a guy to completion in under 5 minutes even if he is a player known far and wide for being able to hold back. [Image: wink.gif]

Seriously Gio, just read the book.

I know that you said recently that you never read books because you get too bored or distracted to finish them. And I think that this is pretty reasonable. But this one may be an exception.

It is a riveting book in its truthfulness and just its raw emotion. There are things that Slim writes about his childhood and about his mother that I will never forget.

These are things that men almost never dare to write because they find these things embarrassing or they just don't have emotions that go this deep. Most writers are garbage because they care more about literary effects of this or that kind than about emotional truth.

I think you would find a lot of things in this book that speak deeply to you, Gio.

And yes, Slim was a criminal and he writes truthfully about what that means and he renders a serious judgment on that life.

The book is a treat for those who love life, truth and reality.

Iceberg Slim does takes it to a whole new level.

If you liked it you need to read "The Pimp Game" by Mickey Royal. You will never look at any business or political endeavor the same way again. It's a modern day "The Prince".

Pimp: The Story of My Life is the intro level basic college 101 class. Mickey Royal takes you to the MBA level.

It looks at how to see who's really calling the shots, who's working at what level, how successful someone is, how people are being motivated/manipulated by the people in charge, in addition to so much more. Want to know if that little restaurant you just found is still gonna be around next spring? Mickey Royal will let you know how to figure it out. Want a crash course in red pill psychology? Mickey Royal. Need to know how to get into somebody's head and figure out how to get what you need out of them? Mickey Royal.

You can find a free copy of the book here.

The game is not about pimping, it's about power. If you're not in control of the game, you're being played.

If you are going to impose your will on the world, you must have control over what you believe.

"Pimp" is an unreal book. I read it a little over a year ago. The diction is a bit hard to get used to though.

The name of the game is Cop and Blow baby.

Here's an excerpt from "Pimp"

There are two sides to pimping.

One side is game, and understanding the true motivations of women and how to keep from being controlled by them.

The other side is sociopathy. Taking advantage of the weak and using human beings as cattle for profit.

I think understanding both views has merit, but the value of teaching game warrants the recommendation of the books themselves. Game is becoming a necessity in America, and those who fail to learn it are doomed to misery.

Personally, I think this is one of Eminem's best songs.

It is a story about a man who is completely unraveling. He can't deal with the leftover emotions from his broken childhood. In Eminem, he finds his Lord and savior, a musical icon who shares a similar history to him. He puts all of his faith into Eminem and begins sending letters to him. These letters are really a cry for help. Eminem never responds and the man loses his last shred of hope in humanity driving him to commit suicide.

It is not a song about a "beta", but it is about a lost soul.

Here's another song about a lost soul:

There are not enough songs like this.

A lot of modern music revolves around money, drugs and women, but what about the men who are lost and searching for something to believe in?

I think that this misplaces the role of music and what it can be at its best.

To speak to someone who is lost and is searching for someone to believe in, it doesn't have to be about someone like this. Rather, it can speak to them by embodying life, energy and interest. It can give you something to believe in -- just to know that there is an energy that is greater than yourself but that you can be a part of.

Regardless, if you want a great, great song, a true masterpiece, about someone who is lost and searching for something to believe in, look no further:

Some rapper stole the name Iceberg Slim. I think he may even have changed it to Iceberg Slimm.

Earlier I wasn't knocking Emininem. Just pointing out to Giovanny that white guys don't ever sing in a 'pimp' type of way when it comes to singing about women. Unlike black guys - as can be seen in most hip hop.

Just one of those undeniable cultural differences. Just a little observation - that is all.

But Givanny is right. For thousands of years - white guys ran the world on a 'pimp' type of thinking. The British Empire is a good example of that. In order to keep control - the British would import different ethnic tribes - and then let the minority tribe run the country (in co-operation from the British).

With the people you were colonising at each other's throats it was alot easier, and took alot less man power to keep control.

I respectfully disagree.

The White man is portrayed as alpha, in popular culture.

Superman, Batman, Spiderman, John Wayne, James Bond, Earl Flynn, Hulk Hogan, Fight Club (Brad Pitt), Thor, Robin Thicke, Travis Pastrano, Paul Walker, Robert Deniro, Joe Peshi, etc, etc.

I could name a thousand other White alphas in pop culture.

Ali G is not white, I think he is Middle Eastern..

As far as White rappers:

Eminem
Mac Miller
Macklemore
Machine Gun Kelly
Astor Roth
Yelawolf

Those are just the mainstream guys. I could list 100 more White rappers..

I could also list many White gangsters and killers.

The Russian and Italian mobs are big into pimping.

The only difference between White Pimps, Black Pimps, Asian Pimps, Latin Pimps, etc. is the way the walk and talk.

All races pimp.

Personally, I think Whites have been the most successful pimps due to the fact that Whites have literally pimped entire nations and races.

I mean, the African Slave trade was basically just massive scale "gorilla pimping".

Human trafficking is now illegal but it used to be the business of kings, European and African.

What about Robin Thicke and the whole "Blurred Lines" thing?

Miley Cyrus was rubbing her ass on him during the MTV awards show.

Two White super stars getting very sexual on MTV, the epitome of pop culture.

Also, Whites run the porn industry and most strip clubs

White pimping is not glamorized or romanticized but it is a huge business. Much bigger than Black pimping.

Pimps are often great liars and con men. Why should we believe that this book is non-fiction?

I suspect that is a mix of fact and fiction.

*****

I guess my point is -- DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE WHITES MANS ABILITY TO PIMP.

White people were studying psychology and mind control long before this book came out.

Machiavelli came out centuries before this.

Karl Marx talked about many of these same issues.

White pimping may look and sound different from Black pimps but it is just as effective, if not more.
