This is a thread for guys to share experiences and recipes with blenders and blended smoothies.
Let's all start by agreeing to avoid the blending Vs. juicing debate and any other tangents. This thread is for recipes, blender reviews, and personal experiences with making smoothies.
I was just given a low-end blender (Magic Bullet) and have made some good simple smoothies with various combinations of chocolate protein powder, banana, almond milk, kale, blueberries, and athletic greens. After a bit more experimenting I will drop my favourite recipe.
The big question on my mind right now is whether to shell out the big bucks for a BlendTec or Vitamix. Are they worth it? Are there any blenders in the $100 range that are 90% as good as the $500 options? Kale in the magic bullet is actually not nearly as chunky as I thought it would be, but I've read that a good blender will completely liquify leafy greens.
And of course, drop your favourite smoothie recipes (along with the type of blender you're using) in this thread to give others ideas.
