Do you really know a lot of people worth $100 mil or more? We're not talking your 'everyday millionaire' types. These people have a serious lifestyle selling point.

I wish I was born rich. I don't get jealous of these guys, however. Someone in his family managed to get that money so his children/grandchildren would have it good. Wouldn't every man on this forum want the same for their children?

Yeah, there are plenty of guys doing this.

I see them everyday in Miami Beach.

They are in Vegas every weekend.

Hell, there are plenty of guys doing this with way less money.

Did a little research on the cat while waiting for a phone call:

Article on his Dad.

Made $100 million in Florida real estate before moving into stocks in the 80's for the bull market:

CORPORATE RAIDER: PAUL BILZERIAN; A SCRAPPY TAKEOVER ARTIST RISES TO THE TOP

Doesn't seem too bad.

I kind of can't stand when North Florida guys try to talk with a Southern California accent, but whatever he is from North Florida, so you can't expect much.

Rich kid in Vegas.

Kind of a dime a dozen in all reality. Actually looks almost identical to this one cat I used to loosely roll with who was a heavy playboy and played in the NFL.

But like I said, these are good cats to know.

If I saw him in my hood, I would say what up.

He would still be at best #2 on my block though. Hell, my block is heavy and deep, I doubt he would crack top 30.

And a block over, he would be lucky to crack top 100.

I wish I was born rich, but GManifesto has it right: befriend the rich douche bags, and be inside the douchebag club instead instead of an outsider.

Watching interviews of Dan Bilzerian, it seems he's much more of a chill guy than he appears in his instagram photos.

If he was a typical overweight American do you imagine his lifestyle appearing anything like this? Sure maybe he has the guns and house.

If he was the typical boring American do you think he would have the lifestyle that appears on his instagram even with all the money? No he'd fuck one hot broad and wife her up that instant.

I don't know tons of people with 100+ mil otherwise I'd damn well be rolling out with them and not posting on the forum right now. I do know lots of people with say 5-15 million. I ain't ever seen any of their kids pulling a lifestyle like this. But then again I've also never lived in the Hamptons.

I don't think he was taking himself seriously there.

I've seen plenty of rich fuckers. Guys like him might be a dime a dozen in Vegas or Miami, but not L.A. There's probably a reason for that, in that the ROI for dropping mad cash in LA isn't even REMOTELY as good as Vegas or Miami.

I've seen hundreds of rich guys, probably thousands, that have the garage stocked with supercars and $20 mil mansion, that are rolling with a completely busted chick and don't seem to be living it up very much. Yes I know for a fact their net worth is easily over $100 mil, guys that were ranked in the 10 most powerful people in the state, billionaires, saudi money etc. I used to work in Brentwood and that shit is everywhere there. Seems like the guys at the very top have too much image to maintain and have to appeal to the public too much. They're all so-called philanthropists and humanitarians. They might booking suites full of Playboy bunnies and stocking a few oscars of premium blow in private, but I doubt it. They certainly aren't living it up like these trust fund playboys.

Wonder if he needs a personal chef.

And just an idea of what the difference is between $10 mil and $100 mil.

Assuming you're smart and don't intend to go bankrupt, you'd probably pull something like this:

$10 mil: You could own a $1.5 mil house and one supercar and lead a fairly decadent lifestyle for the rest of your life.

$100 mil: you could own two $5 mil mansions and a small garage full of supercars and lead an extremely decadent lifestyle for the rest of your life.

Hmmmm which one to choose...

Rich people (especially $30 mil and up) are a very small fraction of the population and not 'all over the place' by definition, it is an illusion to believe otherwise.

Men with net worth's over $100 million are rarer still. There are less than 10,000 in the whole country. The population of a small, hick town.

Those rich guys you are seeing in LA not pulling are either 1) not really rich or 2) haven't learned how to properly apply their wealth (if hot pussy is their goal).

Give me even $1 million and I will put it to work in LA. Those guys are clueless.

Checked out more into his dad. Looks like he was Gordon Gecko and got caught in the late 80s. From what I can guess, it looks like the dad probably funneled all of the illicit profits from his securities fraud to his son quietly, while declaring bankruptcy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Bilzerian

The son is definitely living the life though.

It's a commercial, and it's obviously tongue-in-cheek. Hell, the girl looks like she's about to laugh when she's posing.

Check out the beard stroking. Money alone can't generate that response. Game recognised and respected.

It says the guy went through Hell Week twice, and was dropped two days before graduating BUD/S. Clearly, he was physically fit enough. He was administratively dropped, aka the dude was probably hella cocky or talked shit to the instructors. So, he still has props from me for all the SEAL training he did go through.

Because Wikipedia is the truth and entries cannot be faked nor bought, hm?

His wiki page reads almost like an ad and was only created on October 3rd.

Looking at how he stages himself on his Instagram, I'm confident he paid some reputation management SEO company for this.
Just like he paid to have a small part in a movie so he can call himself actor.

Humble he definitely is not.

He may be a super nice guy (and he probably is) but I would be willing to bet that 90 percent of his "social circle" are leeches. Think all those hot chicks would hang out with him if he were broke and didn't have drugs? Think they will continue to hang out with him if the money is suddenly gone? Maybe I'm wrong. I think one of the challenges in this world is having sincere friends that you can count on and will be there for you in good times and bad.

That being said, if that dude maintains close relationships with the ones that matter and keep the rest at arms length then more power to him. Looks like he is killing it.

There's some jealous hamsters spinning in here. "He's shallow and tacky!" "He didn't become a full SEAL!" "Girls only like him because of his wealth". It's a couple of steps away from buying some red hair dye and intelligent girl glasses.

Read the dude's twitter. He's genuinely funny.

Quote:Quote:

"Being rich is overrated. I'm just trying to make a difference in the world with my modelling career"

"My greatest fear is that someone will break in and I won't be able to decide what gun to shoot them with"

"If only girls were as hot as they are on Instagram"

"Banging models in LA is like hunting at a game farm where they cut the wings of birds so they can't fly"

His fat shaming tweet reponse make a girl instantly qualify and behave herself to seem higher value, rather than get outraged:

Quote:Quote:

Amanda Siene: Seems like everyone is getting into a new relationship. Except for me I'm just here enjoying cream cheese sandwiches and reading books! Ha!

Dan Bilzerian: nobody wants a girl who eats cream cheese sandwiches

Amanda Siene: Hahaha! Not everyday! I put them on saltine crackers and make a sandwich lol

He's playful, and always doing something. You can abscribe his success to wealth, but I read him as knowing how to maintain a 'cool and interesting' vibe with women, money be damned. That's all it takes. Respect.

Even if you don't come from a money family and one day you make all this money, if you were not throwing up parties all the time, clubbing with hot girls, it's highly unlikely that you will be living this type of lifestyle. This type of lifestyle is not built from one day to another, I am sure this guy has been living like that for many years. Also, not many rich guys want to live this type of lifestyle and some won't even know how to make this lifestyle come true.

He is living an amazing lifestyle for sure.

You do have a point. Sour grapes, indeed. But, do note that "poker player" and "venture capitalist" are not real jobs. Almost-becoming a Navy SEAL is admirable, but not as admirable as actually becoming one and serving in combat. I do admire the guy's talent at being a playboy, however. Personally, I find Gunter Sachs much more refined.

However, being a playboy is not my mission in life. I certainly would love to live like that for a few days a year, just to relax... but doing it full times sounds immensely boring. As a kid my idols were engineers, scientists, and astronauts, and if I had 100 megabucks to play with, I would be trying to become something like Elon Musk, founding wildly risky startups that may change entire industries in the unlikely event that they succeed. That is the ultimate luxury, in my opinion.

100 megabucks is enough to do real damage. If a man could build an empire, why waste his potential uploading photos on Instagram? Or partying with leeches and fair-weather friends? Or playing poker? Or betting on stupid startups whose technology you don't understand? Is that the best life a man could possibly live? I don't think so.

Anyone picking this guy apart is no different than a frumpy girl talking shit about a chick who is super sexy and still down to earth with a nice personality.

A lot of people can't stand the idea that someone is actually doing that much better than them. It's an insecurity and ego-preservation thing.

"Oh, well, yeah maybe that guy is killing it and living a totally charmed life, but ...insert criticism here... blah blah.

Part of being successful is learning to recognize and appreciate the success of others without feeling insecure yourself.

Instead of trying to tear others down to your level, you should try to raise yourself up to theirs.

You familiar with Brentwood? Go to 26th street and drive north of Sunset blvd. There are hundreds of residences there where not one single house is valued under $10mil, and there are many that get in the 20-30 mil range. On any given day I'd see Larry David, Tom Brady, Eli Broad (look this cat up and tell me "it's not everywhere") Schwarzenegger, Jim Belushi, Josh Brolin, Diane Keaton, the list goes on.

When I say "it's everywhere" I'm referring to the neighborhood itself, not the entirety of Los Angeles. These are all people that have homes in Manhattan, Palm Beach, etc. When you see a $250K supercar several times each minute, just cruising around the Brentwood Country Mart, you get a scope of the density of rich people there.

I partied with this cat twice. We each were with a group of people with mutual friends.

I have nothing bad to say about him.

Course I focus on surrounding myself with successful, cool people who push me to become an even greater playboy/richer/etc.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

That being said, like G and Dude3737 said, there's a ALOT of wealthy guys like this throwing money around, however, the richest men I know, don't take pics of cash and post it.

They couldn't fit all their money in one room.

As an aside, WSJ article on inherited money:

Lost Inheritance

Quote:Quote:

But if the past is any prelude, inheritors, especially those who are new to the family-windfall phenomenon, face an unpleasant reality: They're likely to blow it. Although it's not widely discussed, financial advisers say that new riches prove particularly hard to hold onto—and even harder to patiently nurture and grow. Indeed, research shows that family money rarely survives the transfer for long, with 70 percent evaporated by the end of the second generation. By the end of the third? Ninety percent. Hence the old saw, "Shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations."

The most obvious reason, of course, is that money gets spread thinly over fast-growing family trees. But wealth managers also say many people are simply inexperienced at handling large piles of dough in any disciplined way—think of the so-called sudden-wealth syndrome experienced by lottery winners and many professional athletes. Another common trend advisers see? A belief among some inheritors that, hey, it's permanent vacation time, and there's no need to create any new income streams. "There's a mentality that something will come from somewhere," says Stacy Allred, director of the wealth structuring group at Merrill Lynch Private Banking and Investment Group, which has $130 billion under management.
