Anyone Buy Boxes Of Half Dollars Looking For Silver?

Just curious if anyone on here buys boxes of half dollars searching for pre 1964 halves for the silver?

I used to do this a while back and out of 1,000 coins maybe find a dozen or maybe 15 silver coins. Lately I'll go through box after box and lucky to find one or two. This was much more attractive when silver prices were near $50 however still a way to make a buck. It's pretty easy to search them as welll, just bust open a roll, hold in your hand and look at the edges, if you see copper you know to throw it back.

Was just curious if anyone is doing this or has done this in the past? i've kinda stopped as banks got sick of me and the ratio of silvers to non silvers was making it not worth the time and effort.

Also on a side note curious if anyone is hoarding nickels or pre 82 copper pennies?

I heard a podcast of a guy who would get boxes of silver dollars and found quite a few pre 64 silver dollars. He acquired almost 1,000 ounces that way. And also always check your change. I've found a some pre 1964 quarters, and dimes too.

Set up a few vending machines. Pay some geek to make some optical recognition program that reads the date on the coin, set it up in a coin sorter machine.

Take whatever the machine doesnt separates to the bank as usual.

It's probably easier to just buy some silver when the price dips, unless you're long on time and short on money.

The Fed had sorting machines built in 2005-2006 to filter out silver when it started going up from around $4. don't waste your time
