I don't know if this is an example of irony or what you would call it. These pictures and videos are going to save this guy's ass and will most likely get the charges dropped. However, if these pictures hadn't been taken and put online, she probably would never have accused him of rape in the first place.

The prosecutor did the politically wise thing and punted to a grand jury on the question of whether charges should be brought. After looking at the evidence, the grand jury concluded that no rape occurred. Here's the link:

Consul, that is not a "happy ending". That should infuriate and worry all men about engaging in any sexual activity with a woman without recording equipment. I'd be afraid of having a ONS in the States based on this.

Yeah, imagine what could have happened to this guy if someone hadn't recorded this. In the case of woman's word vs. man's word, the man seems to lose. It's a travesty that tramples "the accused shall be considered innocent until proven guilty (Ei incumbit probatio qui dicit, non qui negat - the burden of proof is on the accuser, not the defender)" principle that pretty much all law is based on. Other than in dictatorships where that was explicitly ignored, I think this is the first time that it is becoming widespread in "civilized" countries.

This is what I have always wondered about if I were to ever face a false rape claim.

If there is no evidence, then someone can not technically be proven guilty. Our legal system isn't founded on a word vs. word basis. There has to be tangible evidence.

It could be a happier ending. She should be charged with filing a false complaint. She should get some kind of criminal punishment. It's not fair that she walks away scot free.

But for the guy it is undoubtedly a happy ending. I don't see how it gets much better for him than this. They couldn't even bring charges. He was never arrested.

As for your fear of ONS and the need to record everything, this event should not trouble you. This girl reported a rape for one reason only: she was recorded and the images were posted on the internet. This was her way of avoiding responsibility when the public found out that she is a nasty slut. If nobody had made a recording or posted any images, she would not have reported a rape.

There certainly are some crazy girls out there who will accuse you, but I don't think this particular incident tells us anything about them.

Girls who make false rape accusations - provably false accusations as in this case - should face some penalty.

But I'd settle for a fine. A few grand for a false rape accusation would deter girls from making phony rape charges.

It should at least entail a consequence as serious as a first time DUI. Or is that too much to ask?

Girls who'd been legitimately raped would be fine accepting the risk of such a penalty.

Here we have a lovely woman who made two false rape accusations in ONE DAY, wasting over 100 police man hours for the investigation. She did it to cover up the fact that she had drunken sex with her friend's BF. Fortunately, he recorded the encounter, and got off.

She got 6 months in jail.

This shit is ridiculous. It really troubles me that women believe they are victims of a man's sexuality. Saying a man is a rapist, especially in North America, is a fast way to ruin his life, forever. No higher level or lower level of society accepts sexual deviants, I know I do not, but because of shit like this, if I ever did meet someone who a woman, or man even, accused of rape, I would second guess his actions because of the quickness women now have to claim someone raped them.
