I'm noticing the cyclical patterns of how my lays work out, it seems that I get the vast majority of my lays in the spring and summer, while fall and winter usually turn out to be a bust.
It probably varies from region to region and from player to player, but once fall starts to kick in here, the hook-up/bar/dating scene takes a turn for the worst. I can imagine it's even worse for players in far norther states like Minnesota, Massachusetts, or wherever. Anyone else noticing this trend? I think it really makes logical sense, and is something I've noticed in the past, just never gave to much active thought to.
It's probably all just science and the nature of animals, and as human we take on a lot of the same behaviors of all the other animals in the animal kingdom.
Everyone knows about spring fever, that's an age old saying, when the weather starts to warm up, the days get longer, women start to emerge from hibernation, and their natural mating instincts go into over-drive. This may be as true or even more true for men, as the weather gets better women start to wear skimpy and skimpier clothing, and after months of seeing them all bundled up, we get to finally see some skin and curves.
Now I am finding the contrary is true of the fall and winter, since the days are getting shorter, it's getting colder, women are covering up more and more, and are spend much more time indoors. With the seasonal change and the shift to spending time indoors, women began what I call the "nesting period".
During this "nesting period" women engage in "pair bonding" and basically start to find a guy to shack up with for the enduring winter months. This can be cool if you actually meet a hot chick with a cool personality that you are into spending large amounts of time with, (my criteria is a minimum of a 7/10 with a shred of intelligence, a good personality, and low drama/maintenance).
While I wasn't actively searching for a girlfriend, I was going out twice a week running game downtown for the end of the summer and now into early fall, which happens to coincide with the start of the semester at the local university.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make much happen, I got a ton of phone numbers, some make outs, a couple notches w/chicks I wasn't crazy about, and a couple repeats from old fuck buddies.
What especially sucks, which I just think makes my situation that much worse, is that pretty much all my friends up here in my social circle have serious girlfriends that they are more or less "in love with", and subsequently spend all their time with.
Not only do I not have any wingmen to hit the bars with, but I don't really have any bro's to kick it with since they all pretty much spend all their time shacked up with their girlfriends, and if and when we do hangout their GFs are always there making me feel like the third wheel.
So I'll admit I'm a little lonely, but more or less frustrated, and feeling kind of defeated in a way I guess you can say. All in all, I'm kind of looking at the glass is half full anyways, because I don't necessarily want a girlfriend, and by not having one and not going out as much, I'm saving money, sleeping better, getting better work outs/mma training sessions, and overall improving my health.
In theory I tell myself that I should still go out because any chicks that aren't already shacked up or starting to shack up with dudes are going to be out looking for cock, but that hasn't really been my experience the past couple weeks.
It seems that during the seasonal transitional period most of the highest caliber women are either entering into relationships, or have such a long queue of guys that they can choose from, that it makes meeting new women more of a challenge during this time.
Again, I'm living in a more remote area, with a smaller population, so a guy living in SF, NYC, or a bigger city may not experience this problem as much.
Right now, the bars I frequent are thinning out as in there are less people going out, and are turning into sausage fests, because way more single guys are going out looking for girls so the ratios are becoming horrible. I remember reading "The Rookie" or VK or one of those DC game bloggers saying the same thing about the scene in D.C. during the winter, so I know it's not a problem totally unique to where I live.
I guess I need to keep my chin up and persevere, but I just hate going out solo dolo and while I've done it more than ever this past year, it just sucks so much worse this time of year, I'm toying with the idea of not going out at all this weekend, which is out of the norm for me, and counter productive when it comes to trying to get laid.
Thankfully, I have plans to travel to the D.R. this winter, and it's becoming more clear that traveling in the winter to warmer locales with sexier women, is the answer to this problem, as long as I can afford it. In the future, I will just need to hustle harder at the end of the summer to try to lock down a caliber female, and if not then always have a jaunt down to Latin America in my back pocket.
