Plot twist: imagine if condoms were laced with STD's and HIV and 'unprotected sex' were actually the safest sex and Condom use was spreading disease.

Magic Johnson has been living with the Virus for over 20 years already and seems healthier than ever.

In my honest opinion, if he wouldn't have retired early in his prime, he would have been greater than Jordan. He was a total beast! Best PG ever!

I don't think you understand how HIV works. An HIV victim will be fine one day, and a month later utterly destroyed. Looks are deceiving with this virus.

Its like saying, only 5 percent of the people who jump from the second floor die. And most of them are chicks who are weaker than macho men. So, If I'm a guy, there's literally no chance I'm gonna die.

The way I see it, these statistics don't mean much. If you jump and a truck runs you over, there's a one hundred percent chance that you'll die. And if you do live, what have you achieved, really?

The way HIV affects someone will depend on the person, the kind of environment he is exposed to, his psychosomatic make up, the nature and extent of care he gets...and literally a hundred other things.

Although the treatment for HIV is improving, its still very much a rogue quantity. Like Samseau said, HIV is the one disease I would never want to fuck with.

Has it ever been confirmed where the disease came from? What are the origins of all stds?

Samseau, you keep mentioning this. Out of curiosity, do you have any links to material that discusses this supposed volatility of an HIV+ person who is seemingly healthy, detected the virus early, and is consistent with medication? Or maybe you knew some people who died of AIDS?

I see stats all over the place saying stuff like this:
Quote:Quote:

In a study of the deaths of almost 500 HIV-positive people, only about 10 percent died from a disease strongly linked to AIDS. Frequently, the cause of death was a debilitating disease with a weaker association with HIV or a factor not related to HIV at all.
http://www.everydayhealth.com/hiv-aids/h...-aids.aspx Note too that this study doesn't even seem to account for differences in early detection or adherence to treatment - it's just a blanket statistic. On top of that, since these people are all already passed, I think it's safe to assume their stats don't reflect the effectiveness of the most modern treatments.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I get the feeling you're talking about people who don't know they have the virus until it's too late and assuming that applies to all victims. In which case, yeah, such a person would fall apart pretty quick. As I understand it, though, it's pretty rare for a person who stays on top of the disease to suddenly come apart at the seams.

Can you elaborate on where you're getting the info?

In any case, research seems to indicate that it's extremely hard to get the disease even unstrapped, and nearly impossible if you always wear the condumn. And that if you know you have it you can live a pretty normal life. So it seems to me the obvious is stay strapped for the most part and get tested often and otherwise don't sweat it too much.

You are mistaken. This is just a case of broken definitions. We don't know "for sure" if the virus killed them or not. But we do know that HIV destroys your immune system. So did that guy who died of a fever die from the fever, that he was going to die from even without HIV, or did HIV weaken him enough to allow the fever to kill him?

A lot of these organizations are "pro-gay" and will do their best to claim that "since we don't know HIV killed them," therefore we cannot conclude HIV killed them. Hence the bullshit stat that only 10% of HIV victims are killed by the disease.

Quote:Quote:

The deaths of persons with an AIDS diagnosis can be due to any cause—that is, the death may or may not be related to AIDS.

There are a lot of fucked up parts to the gay movement, and the ones that downplay HIV so that people with HIV aren't regarded as sickly, destroyed individuals, when in fact of course they are, are easily the worst parts of the movement.

From the above documentary, I learned that the average HIV medication costs 12K a year. Sounds like a fun virus.
