I noticed some complaints about headaches. What I've found is if I drink a lot of water - 1 1/2 gallons - throughout the day I don't get the headaches on modafinil. If I don't stay well hydrated - < 1/2 gallon - then I do get them. I always believed water had no impact on it and the people who said that were simply dehydrated, but after nine months it's been the case with me.

Yeah drink tons of water. Choline helped me as well. It's a cheap supplement, good for brain function, so whatever Modafinil does I think it strains your brain especially if you don't have the proper nutrients, and that can cause a headache.

Choline is naturally found in egg yolks, so I've also read it recommended to have a big egg breakfast when you take modafinil, but the supplement works great and it's super cheap. .09 each for the Nature's Way brand from Amazon, which is what I've used.

Took one before going to the gym, did an hour of cardio another hour of intense lifting then when I got home I shovelled dirt for an hour.... talk about yuge energy and focus. I felt like I could have spent 5 hours in the gym. Woke up at 7, took the pill at about 9 and felt like Bradley Cooper till about 5pm.

Worth the couple bucks.

I tried it a couple of time while in Vegas and stopped because it started making my ears itch. Honestly, its really good if you want that god-like energy and clarity but I can see where you can get addicted to feeling like a god.

I've never used them at night or while drinking so I wonder how that would work.

It's been several months since I started eating eggs on my modafinil days and I've completely eliminated the headaches I used to have. The drug kills my appetite so I usually just drop a few eggs yolks into green teas sprinkled throughout the day. I assume it's the choline, but egg yolks are crazy good for you in a bunch of other ways so I'm going to stick with them rather than buying a supplement.

My thoughts, as they relate to this thread:
1) if you take modafinil regularly, consider supplementing tyrosine.
2) consider taking a tyrosine supplement with modafinil. (similar to my thoughts on taking piracetam with choline which I've mentioned above.)
3) manage stress and cortisol levels through lifestyle and supplements, such as ashwagandha

1. Dopamine depletion
People with low dopamine production will run the risk of depleting their dopamine when they're asking their body to pump out too much adrenaline by putting themselves in stressful situations.

2. Dopaminergic receptor desensitization

Another possibility is making the dopaminergic receptors less sensitive. In that case, the effect is similar to dopamine depletion: you have plenty of dopamine, but the receptors simply aren't responding to it.

It's more likely to happen to people who abuse substances/drugs that directly target the dopamine receptors. (cocaine, amphetamines, Ritalin, nicotine)

The other possibility, and it's much more frequent, is either adrenergic receptor desensitization or noradrenaline depletion.

3. Adrenergic Receptor Desensitization
The adrenergic receptors are the most easy to get desensitized.
…when your own adrenergic receptors become desensitized you stop responding to your own adrenaline. And that's what causes low energy, no motivation, no discipline, a drop in self-esteem, bad performance, etc.

If you're constantly under stress and pumping out adrenaline, you can easily make your receptors resistant. THIS is the most common cause of what we erroneously call "adrenal fatigue."

4. Noradrenaline Depletion
A last possibility is a depletion of noradrenaline. This can be caused by a chronic and excessive cortisol elevation. See, cortisol, on top of being an enemy for muscle growth, is what increases the conversion of noradrenaline to adrenaline. The more cortisol you produce, the more you convert noradrenaline to adrenaline.

Symptoms of noradrenaline depletion include:
-Low energy
-Lack of focus
-Problems concentrating
-Disorganization
-Low blood sugar

The take-home message? Excessive chronic cortisol levels can lead to what we think is "adrenal fatigue" by either depleting noradrenaline (easier to fix) or desensitization of the adrenergic receptors (harder to fix).

4) noradrenaline depletion: shortage of noradrenaline due to high cortisol levels, leading to excessive adrenaline production and low dopamine levels as a result. (article recommendation: supplement choline and magnesium; consider tyrosine; decrease cortisol levels through more regular carb intake.)

That's only available in the UK. I think it's because in some countries Modafinil is available as a generic.

Did Modafinal for a few months here in Mexico almost every other day as its available off the counter, never been so productive in my life, but gave me terrible mood swings, made me pissed off as fuck all the time, lost hunger and therefore muscle gains, too much negative for the positive.

In my opinion its stronger than adderall with stronger side effects.

better to have natural energy levels by keeping your T high, going to sleep early and getting a good nights rest, hitting the gym 5 days a week and having lots of good sex.

Doctors my entire life have told me I need adderall or ritalin to be succesful because of my made up fake "ADHD" disease, fuck them, don't need any of that garbage.

Any drug that has an up always has a down no matter what a psychiatrist/doctor tells you, there is no free lunch.

p.s. If you guys happen to make a trip to mexico Modafinal here is known as modiodal and available in 90%+ of pharmacys, its relatively cheap at about $2/ 200mg pill (or $1 per dose)
