Months before going to Colombia I hit up that site and just chatted with whichever cute girls I could. Turned out to be much more effective for me than the dating websites, but I was doing it little-by-little for a few months.

Every brazilian girl has an account on orkut....yes it's a social networking site, but i assure you that it can be useful for dating..and it's free.

Dude, if you want my best advice for Brazil, fuck Orkut or any dating site. Yeah, maybe Orkut (But I'm telling you, its way worse than facebook, if you have no luck on facebook, you'll have half the luck on Orkut) to keep in touch with girls you meet, but don't rely on it. Spend more time talking to the amazing girls on the street! They are the friendliest girls on earth if you know how to approach them right. I swear, everytime I meet a new Brasileira, I love them more and more.
