Absolutely Hilarious Review of Drake's New Album by Ghostface

I don't post much but I have seen a lot of discourse concerning Drake. Is he soft? Does it matter? How talented is he? etc. I personally align myself with those in G Manifesto's camp. Dude is softer than baby shit and a terrible role model for those who truly aspire to deviate from the current poisonous Western mainstream ideals of how men should act and live their lives. Drake is nowhere near an alpha male as some of you claim. Anyway, enjoy the laughs...

It's not the real Ghostface Killah, but yeah it's a great review. The intro is the best part.

Holy Fuck! That shit is deep. It's a catalog of everything that's wrong with this bitchmade, emo, navel-gazing generation. Drake is their fucking mascot.

Drake is the drum majorette in the parade of dudes who wear TOMS and leave positive comments on Jezebel. Drake is the patron saint of dudes who chastise you when you call something gay. Drake is what Lindy West's "partner" listens to while psyching himself up to have to look at her naked.

Yeah. G would probably hate this but WuTang and Drake are doing a track together. Ghostface considers Drake one of his favorite rappers and said that all those annual lists dissing him was some guy on Twitter pretending to be GFK.

"I had the best moment of my life the other day," Drake said during his CRWN interview. "One of the best moments. Ghostface Killah called me. I don't want to out his business, but he was just so real about it that I've gotta tell this story because I'm proud. So, if he watches this, I'm sorry, but I've gotta tell this story. He was like, 'Yo, son, there's this guy on Twitter. He's been pretending to be me for a long time and talked down on you. But I just wanted to tell you, you're one of my favorite emcees.' To hear that from him, somebody who we've all looked up to for so long, it meant a lot."

This is the best music review I have ever read!

I find that very hard to believe. Not doubting you, just doubting the sincerity of Ghost saying that, if he said that at all..

I think that Ghost is just saying that to be politically correct and gain favor with Drakes people/management.

Wu-Tang is only working with Drake for the money, not because of a genuine respect for him as an mc.

This is just my opinion.

Haha. How would you know ANY of this? You're simply a fan of GFK and Wutang. You don't know them as people.

Big fan of the fake Ghost blog, I posted some of it in one of the longer Drake threads.

http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-27074-...#pid512576

BTW to settle one of the arguments from that previous thread, look at Drake's newest video where him and his crew wild out with the automatics, it's a pretty corny video.

I've had the honor of opening for Ghost in the past, he's one of my favourite artists.

Here's a dope interview with him, he gets deep at the end in a way that might surprise some people:

The same way I know things about you.

By the words you write.

I have been reading the words of Ghostface for almost 20 years. This gives me some information about his perspective on things.

I should admit that I have never listened to Drake. What do you guys think are his best songs or best verses???

I wanna smoke some dap and listen to his greatest hits!

Ghost has been dropping deep wisdom and science for decades!

If people are surprised its only because they have not studied his works.

Drake is no different from Miley Cyrus - they make cute, fun music that works at the right time.

I have hooked up at dance clubs to "Party in the U.S.A." and have no regrets. Drake's music is fun at top 40 clubs. (Too old for that scene, but in my late 20s those places were great.)

What cracks me up is the notion that listening to "hard" music makes you hard. No. Being hard is what makes you hard.

I actually prefer listening to Afro Cuban All Stars, Arturo Sandoval, and EDM (with vocals).

I'd rather be around people who like that sort of music (positive and thoughtful, high consciousness people) rather than the mean-mugging hip hop crowd.

Incidentally, Method Man was my favorite of the Wu-Tang.

He didn't even have a legit criminal record. He got popped for drug possession and tax stuff a while back but he never did dirt like the rest of the Wu-Tang.

Again, listening to or making music does not make you hard. Being hard is what makes you hard.

I'm not the biggest Drake fan but 'Light Up' ft. Jay Z is one of my favorite tracks ever period. Crazy, crazy beat, nice hook, easily my favorite Drake verse, and Jay is Jay.

Drake:
"Rolexes, chauffers, and low fades
I keep thinking how young can you die from old age
They always tell me nobody working as hard as you
And even though I laugh it off, man, it's probably true
'Cause while all of my closest friends out partying
I'm just here making all the music that they party to"

Jay:
"I once was, cool as the Fonz was
But these bright lights turned me to a monsta
Sorry mama, I promised it wouldn't change me
but I would've went insane had I remained the same me
fuck n*****s, bitches too, all I got is this money, this'll do"

Rick Ross' 'Stay Schemin'' ft. Drake and French Montana is another nice track that Drake spazzes on. Some of the few red pill gems I've heard from Drake on this song:

"Kobe 'bout to lose 150 M's
Kobe my n**** I hate it had to be him
bitch, you wasn't with me shootin' in the gym"

(referencing Kobe's prospective divorce at the time)

A few other songs:

Birdman ft. Drake and Lil Wayne - Money to Blow (nice little club track)
Drake ft. Trey Songz - Successful (this was one of his early singles)
Drake - The Resistance (one of his few more introspective tracks that I fuck with)

I agree with this but also disagree to an extent.

The first point, yeah, Drake and others make fun music to party to. On one hand, the music industry is a fucking corrupt and have a huge amount of control on what music is heard so I don't fuck with many of the more mainstream artists in my free time but there's nothing wrong with vibing to a dance track at the club.

As far as listening to music not making you hard, this is definitely true. However, I do think the music you listen to reflects as well as influences your mindset

When I listen to a particular kind of Hip Hop, it motivates me and makes me want to get money. You listen to certain music to get pumped in the gym. If you're trying to smash something, you put on something completely different to set that mood. They say classical music is great to play in the background while you're studying.

So, if you're listening to a guy like Drake all the time who, albeit very talented, is a huge simp I believe that is going to slowly seep into your thought process. I'm not talking about the guy who vibes to it in the club, I'm talking the guy who listens to his music everyday in his house and car. Especially for the younger crowd who see certain musicians as role models and believe everything they talk about in their songs.

I personally listen to a wide range of music based on my emotions but definitely admit it all has an influence on my thought processes to some degree.

The review was hilarious. It's too bad the guy is racist against lighter skinned black men. Calling him "beige" when drake is clearly khaki is over the line.

Where is HC when this injustice is going on?

A few weeks ago I was at Rock the Bells Concert at the San Manuel Ampitheater.

I didn't buy tickets, I didn't wait in line; I was met by one of my very good friends and co-owner of Guerilla Union (they put on Smoke Out Tour, Rock the Bells etc), in the VIP parking with 2 golf carts. I had 2 guy friends with me and 2 girls.

We walked into his massive trailer in the star park area and who's sitting there? The Wu Tang Clan. They were smoking bud and hanging out and from what I gathered they are cool with and respect Drake.

Incredible experience, met a lot of artists and could never buy a ticket to a concert again after experiencing it like that.

I don't really have a vibe about the album other than that it feels like a R&B album with hit him spittin' every other song.

The track "Pound Cake" with Jay is pretty ridiculous, at least from Jay's end, and I'm not even a big fan of his, but Drake is 0/2 when he let's dude appear on his tracks.

They cancelled the Dork Central (DC) leg of Rock Da Bells. Why? Not enough ticket sales.
