Anyone got the scoop on this place? I think im going to get my CELTA certification there in May. I hope the females and nightlife are up to par.

All I know is that its actually a pretty big city, and I`ve read its very dangerous for foreigners there. Lots of travel advisories.

Then again, they say the same thing about Columbia.

Ecuadorian girls aren't that attractive for the most part from what I've seen, but that's just meeting ecuadorians in the US. I had a fling with the hottest one I've ever met and she sucked as far as personality goes.

They aren't that bad, on par with Peruvians. Better than Bolivians, worse than Colombians. Not like finding a hottie is a diamond in the rough. Guayaquil is like most other places in SA (Bogota, Lima, Rio, ect.). You can talk to one guy who was robbed there, and it's the worst place in the continent. And you can talk to another guy who never had problems who thinks it's as safe as Disney World. Quito, however, is a tad more dangerous in my opinion than Guayaquil or most of the places listed above.

i guess ill find out how dangerous it is. not to worried about the females. i heard there is good nightlife there and im sure ill find some hotties.

I only have one Ecuadorian GF so I cant really comment based on such a small sample size where it comes to the girls

I liked this city however. It's my favourite city in the country. The centre feels very first world and at times you forgot you are in a poor south american country. It's very nice.

Outside of the centre though it gets very shady and poor / dirty pretty quickly so just stick to the centre and you should be fine. I never felt unsafe there.

The malecon 2000 area in the centre is a sweet spot. Great for day game. The nightlife is up the hill at the north end of the malecon 2000 and there are some really nice bars there.

I was there for almost a week about two years ago. The girls were were very average. Also, If you are an ass man like myself this is not the place for you. To say the assses were flat is an understatement, what made it worse is that all the girls wore really tight jeans with big oversize Granny panties underneath so it was panties line galore. It literally looked as if they were wearing diapers, somebody needs to open a Victoria's Secret in Ecuador pronto. Another thing that I noticed was that you barely saw girls walking by themselves, they were either in very large groups or there was always with a dude.

Make sure you check out the coastal beach towns of Montañita and Salinas to the north of Guyaquil(they were both dead when I went)
and Cuenca to the south (very cute girls but difficult to approach).

The whole ass and panty discription is the same experience I had with the ecuadorian girl I was seeing. Flat ass with granny panties. She lived in part time in Quito and part time on one of the coastal cities.

The flat ass epidemic is all too common in andes south america (peru,ecuador and bolivia). lol
I guess it can be a cool to see for a day or too though. I was there during their day of guayaquil which is a big festival they hold in Oct. They shut down a few streets and there was a nice party atmosphere. Some parts of the city seemed kind of dangerous, but there are armed guards in the downtown area and I didn't have any problems.

Me and a canada guy got approached during the daytime by a fine young chick who was really interested in speaking english to foreigners. She was built like a grown woman but turned out to only be 16 so we had to abort that mission.

Hung out in montanita for a few days, its a superhippy village few hours up the coast. Lots of gringos, lots of surfing, lots of ganja.

My friend's girlfriend is from Guayaquil and she's pretty hot and also a cool chick (impressive considering she's lived in the US for many years). He's spent some time in different parts of Ecuador and according to him the girls are hotter in Guayaquil than in Quito. Apparently Quito is the more dangerous city as well although I didn't have any problems there (they've really cleaned up the Mariscal area in the last few years and put a shitload of cops around there).

I've been through here on the way to Peru...really not much to see unless you have business in the city. The city is very spread out, and not attractive. I would probably say it is not much of a tourist destination - really didn't see much of any foreigners around. I seem to remember that English penetration was low. Guayaquil is definitely more tropical than Quito, so women tend to wear less.

I got here last week. I heard this is the best night life of ecuador so thats why i choose it. I wanted to live in ecuador for a month.. so i choose this city to do so... My impression here is the tinder game is weak. 99% of the girls on here I would not be seen in public with. Most are chubby. And those cute ones in the 1% are from venezula working here.. or a rare exotic Ecuadorian beauty... not the norm...

Im thinking of leaving thats how bad it is.

In colombia i was going out with 2-3 new cute girls a week. Lots of cute girls on tinder and even during the day (waitresses) etc. But here its filled with chubby average to below average looking girls.. And the prices are not even cheap. Paying $80 a day for my condo on airbnb. and $25 restaurant meals....

Im here hoping to find a cute girl to take to Galapagos islands with me so i dont go alone... But its hard because of the large amount of unattractive girls.... I think im going back to colombia. MUCH better looking woman and cheaper.

After a week here Just have a cute Venezuela girl and a hot skinny tall Ecuadorian girl that im sure will flake because of the large amount of instagram followers she has. so its not looking good for me here... Might leave soon.


but the odd part is during the day i saw a hot girls(they were with men or not in an approachable situation ).just not on tinder. i guess not everyone uses tinder here.
Thinking of returning to medellin or give Cali, colombia a try.
