I'm annoyed by pretentious stuff here about Las Vegas. So here is some practical info.

Casual topless pools are great places to meet strippers, hippies, nudists, and open-minded people.

It's 115 degrees in the summer - drink lots of water and eat light.

Gamblers drink free. At video bars, play a $20 bill through machine blackjack or video poker and you pay only the tip (even if you win).

Learn blackjack basic strategy from cards at the gift shop or internet. Play real 3:2 blackjack, not carnival games or ripoff 6:5 games in the "party pit". Get a players card and always use it at tables or machines. At least you will get on the mailing list for free/cheap rooms.

Depending on your level, you can get free rooms, meals, show tickets, airfare, and other complementaries. Make your first bets your largest, e.g., $200, as a "demonstration of high value". After the floor manager records it, reduce your bet, e.g., $50 or $25. Play slow, crowded tables and sit out hands if you get unlucky. Take bathroom breaks. They record 60 hands @ $200 average, but you really only played 30 hands @ $50 average. With a basic strategy disadvantage of .5%, you will lose only .5%*30*$50 = $7.50 on average. But their "theoretical" calculation is 2%*60*$200 = $60. When you leave, ask a host for a meal or show comp, especially if you had a big win or loss. You don't get unless you ask! The Comp FAQ is:

For deals on hotels, shows, pool parties, etc., go to the lasvegasadvisor.com Top Ten list. The best deals are downtown/off-strip. But stay on/near the strip attractions to avoid wasted time.

My Vegas stripper friends will ask you to stay for lapdances until their shift ends so they can leave with you. Ultimately they always get emergency phone calls about a sick kid. By then your credit card will be maxed out. If you avoid strippers, escorts, and thoughtless gambling, then Vegas can be a great cheap vacation.

This is not the real scoop on Vegas coming from someone who grew up there. I'm not trying to be a dick, but some of this info is not very good....

First of all, I don't even really know of topless pools. They have them, but I don't know anyone who goes, and we all know that most people into that kind of thing are old women with saggy breasts. The pool parties in Vegas, such as Rehab, are off the hook! I'm a beach person, so those were always my favorites, over clubs or anything. MAD fly honies, and you can see what their bodies look like before you take her home.

Slot machines are a waste of time. Yeah, you'll win occassionally, but you're gonna win a lot more at the tables. But you had the right idea. Sometimes me and my boys will stop by a cheap casino with $3-5 dollar black jack and get loaded there before we go out. Honestly, we usually just drink for free, sometimes you win some, sometimes you lose some, but if you throw down $20, at least you probably got more money's worth than you would at a bar.

Come on man, Lasvegasadvisor.com? Why don't you just go buy lonely plannet? I don't recomend this at all. And I guess whatever, stay on the strip if it's more convenient, but there are mad spots outside the strip too that aren't going to be a waste of time, just like there are plenty of spots in Miami off South Beach that are probably great. If you want any advice about good spots off the strip, hit me up.

Yeah, if you go to a mid or low end club, them strippers are gonna fuck you over for sure. Talk to G about how to do strip/gentalmens clubs. I was never much into them though. It was never my steeze to spend all sorts of money on blue balls, or even if I would get laid, still not my style. I do know mad strippers though and know a decent amount about the clubs. Also, word of advice on the escort services the Mexicans are handing out cards for. Yeah, maybe they hand you a card that says an escort is $50, she is, but if you want a decent one, she's gonna want you to tip her $400. And if you tell her you don't have the money for that, she'll take the $50 you have to pay her for showing up, say she will get a girl more affordable, and that girl will never show up, you just lost $50.

One more peace of advice I would like to add: Never buy drugs off the strip unless they are actually in a casino and not on the street, and the guy looks like he has some money and isn't just trying to hustle you.

Yes, but don't play slots, play video poker machines (with a strategy card). Full-pay 9-6 Jacks or Better has only a .5% disadvantage. As a local, you get inferior mail. But out-of-towners can play minimally and get room offers.[/quote]

its all depend on where you go and the demographs ur trying to swoop.

i personally wouldnt wear a suit to most of the places i go to and for the girls i swoop.

if i was going to an upscale lounge or club where most the females were 30 and older than a suit would be the preferred outfit imo

The vegas club scene reminds me of some of the clubs in Cuba and the DR, not in ambiance, but in how many prostitutes work in there. As well in Vegas, most of the hot girls were in the private booths, so its sorta slim pickings unless you have cash... on top of that, weeding out the pros from the normal girls is a toughie too!!!

What I do, is ask the girl where she is from, and how long is she staying.... if she's a local its a red flag etc... just from my experience. If a girl is aggressive just like you are to women, then odds are she's a pro.... Day game is not too bad,, the malls in caesars and fashion show mall , plus casino pool can be good grounds too.

Only prostitute I ever met on the strip was at the bar in the Stratosphere at 4am (Don't ask why I was there). She was fucking disgusting too and VERY obvious.

I mean, I've been to the clubs at all hours. It's crazy, I haven't really met hardly any prostitutes in Vegas and I've probably been on the strip over 500 times. Only one girl I've ever approached on the strip turned out to be a hooker.

It's because you were playing blackjack. You weren't in a club. The hookers hang around the sketchy casinos. If you're going to Pure or XS or Tryst or whatever, you never run into them... ever.

Like I said, the only time I've met one was sitting by myself at the circle bar in the Stratosphere casino at like 4AM. And I've probably gone out clubbing 20-30 times in the last two years in Vegas.

Yeah, only "high rollers" know what comps are. I'm a 21 year old student from Saskatchewan, and I go to LAS with a good friend of mine every few months. My friend is also a student, but he has also spent years getting on that blackjack tip, if you know what I mean. The dude gets comps all over town at the B, Caesar's, MGM, Luxor, etc. That's why I fly with him. One day we're back at home sitting in class being students on a tight budget (at least I am, he's got bank), the next we're getting comped surf and turf with dom at the Lux and I'm getting paid by the hour to bet $400 a hand with someone else's money. Who doesn't know what comps are? Take a hike.
